Went for a rare outing to a drive through light show. After there were throngs of people out and about for other activities, and shopping. I was one of a handful of people still masking. It felt risky. My after school job with kids who wear masks wrong feels risky too.
I am still so afraid, despite 3x Vaxxed.
Boss pointed out mask mandates in school are gone and I needn't mask up. I told her I am very high risk, still afraid.
I guess I understand why people wish to pretend nothing is wrong. It takes strength to look at the reality and to keep on doing best practices long after everyone else has stopped. I just don't want to catch Covid in any way, shape, or form. As the unvaccinated continue to put us all at risk, I become more alarmed. I hate to hear it is likely an inevitability that we all will catch it. That just can't be true. Maybe I am hearing it wrong. I just want it all to be over and am hanging on as best as I can.
I think it is wise to stay alert and wear mask. I live in the Netherlands, and we are in another lockdown , because of Omnicron.
Even if you are 3 x vaccinated , it is not yet sure you are safe. Omnicron is different and it seems that the original vaccine is not really strong against it.
Omnicron seems to be milder, still they close our country to be safe. Bad timing one week before X-mas, but better safe than sorry..
Stay safe and wear mask ( and keep 1,5 meters distance and was your hands) .
We will keep Covid for a while.

Wow. I just found out my friend how who was hospitalized with covid in September and is still battling major effects from that infection now has covid for the 3rd time and just got a monoclonal antibody treatment. Her first time was very early in the pandemic.
She is still unvaccinated. I suspect this is omicron as I believe she had Delta previously. I expect we all have a good change of getting this variant this time around but hopefully with a vaccine symptoms will be mild.
According to Dr. John Campbell, Omicron is 70% more infectious than the original Covid-19 virus but not getting into the lung tissue as much.
So many cabbages. Why are you throwing them out? I asked. They have worms all in them, someone said, full of worms. I looked at the steps where I was standing, it was late on Halloween night and there sat a carved jack-o-lantern with a funny metal chimney-like hat where the stem would be, a candle that had almost burned down, and a dried out dead patch at the back of the pumpkin. A bunch of large, short-haired black dogs were circulating at the bottom of the steps. The feeling was dark and kind of foreboding.
Black dogs are often considered guardians of the underworld and the barriers between life and death. Think about the Greek Cerberus or the idea of hell hounds. Halloween is also considered a time when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest. That and all the infested cabbages combine to form much death imagery. It's certainly what we've been living with Covid. The worms in the cabbages also make me think of the food illness outbreaks (like Salmonella) and recalls we periodically get.
@lovendures can you tell us anything about your unvaccinated friend’s lifestyle regarding covid-susceptible activities? Does she eat out? Is she mask-vigilant? Is her family vaccinated and are they mask vigilant?
@melmystery @marigold that dream is a powerful foreboding and a statement of where we are in the Great unraveling. I see it also as hopeful because it also means that springtime will follow the winter.
Melmystery, your astute analysis has helped me get a better feeling about the dream. Hats off to you! Marigold, what a great dream! The dream is a perfect picture in so many ways of where we are in the cosmic timeline.
We are past fall in the season of an old decaying civilization. We are entering winter. Decay is upon us. But remember that new life follows death, and decay nourishes new life.
It is an image of our world. We are at the edge of the great unraveling. The worms are eating the decaying matter and all that waste is a perfect description of what happened here.
2020 was a huge moment of collapse of the old world but it’s not the final moment.I see how this Christmas purchasing stuff will be down. We are learning to live without stuff.
Decay and collapse are not bad. We need the old anachronistic ways to die if we are to make way for the new. I already said this but it needs repeating.
The metal chimney on the jack o lantern reminds me of the greenhouse gas-spewing factory chimneys that are warming the world. Gasoline powered cars are also spewing greenhouse gases trough their metal tailpipes.
Everything organic that we burn is accelerating this death.
The candle in the pumpkin is burned down and like the pumpkin itself that was scorched in its rear, our burning method for fueling our world has also scorched humanity and so much of nature along with it.
But The great burning of the Anthropocene age is coming to an end. The dream takes place at the end of fall.
The dream is a foreboding. I feel it too. All of the needless consumption is about to stop as we make it way to a new paradigm that is arising out of this decaying old world.
The 2030’s will see dramatic change as sea levels begin swamping the coasts and people realize that they must respect Gaia now once as for all.
Dang! That was super quick.
Omicron is now the dominate Covid strain in the U.S. 73% of new positive cases are of this strain.
It was only first discovered in S. Africa 3 weeks ago.
Truly that is crazy!
