- @mas1581 Hi Mas, I am new to this thread so I don't know where you are located. I'm in the U.S. in Pennsylvania. Did you say you haven't been to a store since July?? I just found out a friend got it by being 10 feet away from someone who had their mask off for 10 minutes to eat and was she wearing a mask (in her home) She has a medical grade Hepa filter IN her home and keeps the humidity at 40%. Extreme measures because of severely medically challenged family members. I am taking 4 - 6 grams of vitamin C and also Vitamin D every single day. Do you take vitamins? It seems so insanely contagious but everytime I hear someone caught it I always wonder if they take supplements. Like everyone else, I'm terrified. When you hear CA ordered 5,000 body bags and 20 mobile morgues...
I live in Milwaukee area. Yea we don't leave the house and if we do its just to take the kids on a car ride, never getting out. All food and Xmas gifts are delivered and immediately sprayed with lysol or wiped with clorox wipes. The only exposure we have that isn't completely controlled is our 2 year old.foster twins going on visits. Masks have to be worn but their mother was knowingly positive and didn't tell anyone, still coming to visits at an independant location.
The twins got it from their mother 11 days ago and promptly gave it to me when they got back. I started mild symptoms last weekend. Somehow, my wife and 8 year old daughter were negative as of tests Tuesday and still perfectly fine.
We all take daily multi vitamins and added an extra vitamin D 1000mg supplement once we found out about the exposure. Wife and daughter take daily antihistamines for allergies, which I think has had an effect on them not getting it yet.
@mas1581 Zinc, Vitamin D, C, B complex, Melatonin, magnesium glycinate, and some exercise not a lot 20 minutes walking inside is good. No sugar, cut carbs, and protein is good. Make sure you have a pulse oximeter. Lots of water. Old fashion Indian ayurvedic remedy: Black cumin and unfiltered unpasteurized honey. Don't know if it works but there is that. Chicken soup is winner also.
One more thing Id like to add to hopefully calm your fears. The twins are fine thusfar and have had serious respiratory issues in the past and a genetic deletion(missing genes) that has a wide range of medical issues associated with it. I am 3 months out of a week long hospitalization with sepsis and a smoker as well(I know it's bad). With those risk factors, we are all still doing well.
Cant find a pulse oximeter locally but one is on its way. My pulse rate is constantly checked and has been a great I dictator of my O2 levels during a sleep study I had a year ago and thru the sepsis hospital stay. If it drops below 95, my pulse rare raises to 110ish and if it drops below 90, it starts racing and I immediately know. We also live next to a fire station and the EMTs are literally a 30 foot walk away and always willing to come running if needed.
@mas1581 I bet the vitamins made some difference, especially the vitamin D. I have still been going into supermarkets and running errands, masked with a fabric masks and the 2.5 micron filters. Thank you for the encouragement. I forgot about the therapeutics of antihistamines. I have noticed since taking the high dose C that I no longer need my inhalers and am able to take much deeper breaths that I have in years. But if I slack off after a week or so I feel it. I have in my house every remedy for getting this thing, from steroids, albuterol machine, otc meds and a gazillion holistic things. I've been a single Mom for years and know how awful it is to be sick. I feel hopeful we will be ok, but as an empath the energies about this make me jittery. The untold suffering, it's a lot. I am very grateful for the security I have during these difficult times. I'm so glad I found this forum. Xoxo to all of you, stay safe! ?
Just came downstairs smelling the most delicious spaghetti sauce I've ever smelled amd saw my wife cooking. Mouth watering, just craving this miracle sauce she is making only to find out its curry chicken thighs and candied sweet potatoes(ewwww)
Apparently my smell loss is now me bei g able to recognize a smell is there but my brain randomly picking smells to attribute to it. This is getting laughable.....and quite disappointing
