Woke up this morning with no taste or smell. Thats not that bothersome but my nasal passages are swollen and it feels like I'm really congested but I'm not at all. Very unsettling feeling but the friends that have had it say its normal and nothing signifying a worsening situation.
Thank you. I am. The worst part by far is the fact that I have too much alone time and my mind starts to wander to all the possible outcomes of this, especially when I'm trying to go to sleep. Shows me how much I need my wife to tell me to stop being stupid when I let it go down the rabbit hole.
Sorry about the sense of smell and taste. Have a big holiday celebration when it returns!
Is it all gone or partially?
Looking forward to the time you are finished with it and can enter a store without fear of catching it. That will be a relief. Until than, may your illness be short lived and very mild.
This isn't a last battle level posting. Im more trying to document the basics Im feeling and how I am reacting to them for other people. A positive diagnosis is scary because of the uncertainty and the more I talk to people that have had it and fully recovered, the more calm I am staying. The mental aspect is just as bad as the physical with this. If anyone here gets it, I want to have this for them to reference so they don't worry any more than need be and can avoid the mistakes I've made getting myself worked up when I shouldn't be.
The loss of taste is a blessing in disguise. My wife is cooking Xmas dinner and.....well......let's just leave it as a blessing. Hahahahaha
The fact that I can finally relax my worry about letting it in the house or getting someone else sick has gotten me thru from day 1. We haven't been to a store since the 2nd wave started in July. Instacart has been our best friend. It will be so nice to just go shopping again with the kids, and I HATED shopping.
I must have been having a baaaddd hair day yesterday, which reminds me that I need to find someone to trim about two feet off of it so I 'm free of the entanglement ...
You are so right, "..Covid and 2020, as a whole, can take a long walk off a short pier. "
My sentiments exactly.
Thank you my dear Mas ?
I certainly hope that you are going to kick the demon virus soon, and your senses will return, though your soul senses appear to be doing just fine .. take good care of yourself and your family ...
When you feel like you are going ?~y (like me), just go out and look at that bright 'star' in the night sky ... Jupiter & Saturn are already in conjunction ?
Just had dinner-leftover Chinese, so far from bland. Spicy Mongolian beef tastes like steamed spinach with buttercream frosting. Make some sense out of that one.
I'm thinking of "last battles" as culminations of personal events in late 2020 and early 2021 that has some component of a challenge and that will clearly delineate one chapter of our lives from the other. Losing your business, going trough a drawn-out adoption process, and your COVID diagnosis sounds like a last battle in my book. But suit yourself.
