Wow! Food for thought indeed. I actually started this pattern especially the hacking cough that lasts for months at the end years ago. This is my third winter of it.
But then again the same thing can be said of my weird auto immune disorders. One started when when I was 16 and I'm 70 now. I was seriously I'll, could barely get out of bed and coughed in horrible fits that left me gasping for air for over 3 months but no test yet invented in the 1960s showed anything that matched.
Makes me wonder at all of the things we may have been exposed to, developed sensitivities to or were precursors to viral or bacterial agents now

I apologize ahead of time if this has been addressed in previous posts.
We are now at a point where many people are asked to self quarantine or take time off from work. This is often a loss of income for those who have a job in which they can't work from home. People appear to be responsible for their own testing costs for the virus ( unless they are covered under insurance).
So here are my thoughts and questions. How can we expect to get any kind of handle on this virus in the US if the expectation is the the individual is responsible for the costs involved with the test? Should this not be paid for by the government during a serious epidemic such as this one? Otherwise those with symptoms will continue to spread the disease unless they are so severe they require hospitalization. What should be the obligation of a nation to insure the health of her people?
And what obligation does an employer have to their employee if they contract this illness?
I wish we could have a government sponsored free test and a stipend if one is confined to home.
We live in an oligarchy. Employers and insurance companies bear no true responsibility for anything. Low wage employees will lose their jobs if they get sick, which is not new, so count on lots of workers trying to hide their illness and count on it spreading as a result. The government could care less and as I have felt, their Dominionist agenda allows for the dying of many people as another item on their Apocalypse Checklist. In many states employers are not even required to save jobs for or pay people on jury duty. The NIH and CDC have been slashed - monetarily and also in terms of not filling open science related positions. There aren't enough tests and no one knows where the existing ones can be accessed. People have to call a CDC hotline and beg for info, if they can even get through.
What you seek is good, but unlikely to happen in our lifetimes in this country.
We have tickets to fly through Chicago’s O’hare next Thursday. I am becoming increasingly uneasy about it. It’s just me and my kids headed to SC for a long weekend. We will be staying with my MIL who is 82. The thought of carrying it to her is very scary. I keep praying for a very clear sign. The airlines are not saying much about it. Anyone have any insight?
Self quarantined is not the answer when you have someone ignore and go to a business event :

Wow, even more to think about! We know that the current form of COVID-19 is thought to have been spread by a research lab animal illegally sold after use in a food market in Wuhan.
Is it possible that if as you have said there was previous vaccinations for a canine form of corona virus that many were working around the form of the virus with canines contracted a form not yet transmitted to humans that mutated and therefore transmitted into other animals or even humans who traveled internationally and those mutations led to a this nouvel (new) form?
Is that where your thoughts were/are leading as mine now are??
We have 9 people dead out of what seems to be a care home in Washington state where by all appearances residents were in late stages of Alzheimers meaning also severely physically deteriorating (I cared for parents regularly full time at home with this disease and watched the deterioration through all the stages and learned just how very much it is a physical disease of brain deterioration)
They were "easy" targets for the virus to get an immediate stronghold and quick deaths among them. (Sorry hate to even type that) Even now two more patients (as of yesterdays news) have been seen carried out on gurneys to waiting ambulances to be brought to a hospital.
Its huge there and in the case of that one location of one nursing home already a localized pandemic far exceeding any rational odds of transmission by cities or states in the U.S
Breaks my hearts as even when old and having suffered with years of cognitive decline we all still mourn the loss of our beloved parents from any disease.
I can only hope that all researchers everywhere and all the people from the CDC who are doing this massive detective work to determine patient one/ground zero figure this out and get that vaccine in one year not two as currently predicted by scientists.

It's not out of the realm of possibility. Some stories put out there say it originated in the "wet market" Others say it escaped the virology lab like SARS did in 2004 - " someone knows the Truth but they aren't talking"

Thanks for that! For me it's not Mexico (North of Cancun - Playa Mujeres) that scares me, it's the plane ride from JFK. I have until March 23rd to decide if we are going. If it surfaces in the Cancun area then it's a no.
FYI: I called Delta airlines and asked them what their plan is for disinfecting airplanes. They only disinfect every flight in and out of the US - NOT within the US. That scared me.
I had a dream this morning and it wasn't really good news but I am going to post it and make of it what you will...
In the dream I was a different woman than who I am in real life. I was trying to get comfortable in a place that seemed rather rudimentary. I had some dirty sheets to wash and I could only find a sink that was too small to wash them in. There was no washing machine. I was not able to wash the sheets so I piled them in a spot. Then there was a large spider in the bedroom with very distinctive blue markings on a dark greyish body. The design on the spider was sort of like a jaggedy line or almost like a "w" on the top of its middle section. The spider didn't look natural it looked spookily perfect...it reminds me of the CGI creatures in the movies now--how perfect they look and crisp and clear in every detail. I went to the other room to get a spray can, but when I come back into the room I roll the can clumsily at the spider and it easily skitters away and hides. It has a very intimidating look. I don't know why I fail to use the can of poison properly. I clumsily try again to knock the spider flat with the side of the can like an idiot and it easily moves aside and even leaves the room.
I go into the other room and I seem to have a woman roommate who at the same time has been fighting a mouse. She tries to step on the mouse and is successful in pinning it under her foot. I feel a sense of relief, because I assume she will kill the mouse with her foot. She puts pressure on the mouse with her foot but it is able to squirm out from under her foot and as it runs a way it gets larger, like a rat. It runs into the other room and as we peek at it it seems even more large like a very small cuter ermine type animal but the look on it's face isn't cute. The look on its face is super aggressive and angry. I don't know what an angry ermine looks like but this dream animal almost comically looks very human-like in the expression on its face.
I wake up. I think, "Oh great, what is this dream about!?" I mulled over it for a few hours. Yesterday I heard through the news that the Chinese scientists have determined there are two strains of the coronavirus that are circulating in China, one is more deadly than the other. Of course that made me wonder what would happen with the two strains, especially here in the US where I live. I live in Georgia and recently two people who live in Fulton County tested positive for the virus. That is around seventy miles from where I live. In the article they had said the scientists determined that it was easier to control the more deadly strain because it makes people sick enough to need hospitalization where they will be properly quarantined. They determined that over time the original more deadly virus had decreased in prevalence in China due to the people needing a hospital which forces them into quarantine in the hospital.
I only have my first intuitions about this dream and so far all I can say is it feels to me like my guides are telling me that the US attempts to control either virus strain won't work out very well. It seems to me like the spider is the original virus from Wuhan--hence the "w" shape on it. The article I read yesterday said that the original virus is the more deadly one. The mouse which morphs into the larger creature is the milder viral strain. The woman trying to step on the mouse is trying to pin it down and then kill it. I take this to mean the attempts to quarantine it will fail--in fact the milder strain will grow to become more prevalent. The woman who I am playing the part of in the dream has an effective weapon but can't use it effectively or properly. This is some other control measures perhaps that will not be as effective due to mishandling or not properly carrying them out. I am not sure what these control measures are...it may just mean that government response in this case will not be effective due to some kind of stupidity or reluctance on the part of the government officials. The first part about the dirty sheets and no washing machine may be about the lack of testing from the CDC. Some of the test kits were defective at first. By the time they ramp up test production and test more people I feel it is not as useful. This is my guess--but a lack of a washing machine suggests a lack of something and all I can think of right now is that they are not testing enough people.
Sorry to post this if it upsets anyone. We need to do our best with the personal hygiene and other measures. We can't count on our government being effective with this situation here in the US if I am interpreting my dream correctly. I think people can decide what to do to keep themselves safe if they stay calm and plan ahead. I hope my dream is wrong and perhaps it is more about Georgia than the whole US, I can't be sure but I don't really trust the Trump administration to keep people in the US safe...

@lovendures I find hope in the fact that it has lost some "aggression" through mutation.
I add my voice to the wondering if the virus has been around for a while, explaining why so many of us flu-vaccinated adults were ill with a rugged virus this winter.

Regarding the flu this winter. This flu strain was supposed to be pretty bad. Did anyone get tested for the flu but have negative results for the strain that was circulating? My daughter had a bad flu, but nobody else in our family got it.
those of us that got sick at my work got tested for the flu.. it was negative and they said it was most likely just a bad cold that turned in to bronchitis for us... no one progressed to pneumonia.. but that damn cough hung on for two weeks after all other symptoms abated...this was back in November around Thanksgiving and up to Christmas. My Thanksgiving was ok..but I caught it a week after.. and was still recovering at Christmas time. My son caught it.. but it was also circulating through his work place.
Vice President Mike Pence said the United States doesn’t have enough coronavirus tests, at this point, to meet what officials expect to be the demand for them in the future.
Pence just set himself up as the fall guy with this statement. T will turn it around and say Pence how come you didn’t have enough test kit.
