Right on Kate!
I'm down in Salem and I so agree. Great place to be even with the terrible conditions now. I have a member of my family and a neighbor both working under Governor Brown right now. She can be a little hesitant making choices without a ton of sifting through pros and cons but when she sees the light she moves like lightning to get it in effect immediately.
Unlike he who shall not be named with his 90 million zillion cases of the only potential viral drug he could learn to pronounce. Word is that the experts around him and some of his smarter advisers threw a battle fit royale but winning is his #1 game and he did.
Now Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus suffers are struggling to get their prescriptions filled.
And that medical dark humor....oh my gosh! So so true!
@practicalnihilist Thanks for your thoughts! I often get thoughts then more float up from underneath them. I do see food prices going up from these times and for years I've been seeing people start gardening for their vegetables and keeping chickens. Eventually people will begin moving to areas with more land so they can grow more food, keep some livestock, not just chickens but a cow! And people will want to live near the farms or like minded people and set up cooperatives.
It is the beginning of the migration I'd seen a decade ago for post 2020. Migration inland and north to Great Lakes areas and other areas with land and fresh water. Finally we will have creme in our coffee from a happy cow who is like a member of the family. And laying hens. Barbara Kingsolver's book Animal Vegetable Miracle will see a new surge of sales.
thankful for your meditation! however i have been seeing things look a little better by may we be out of lockdowns and some travel bans will lift but with tough restrictions and guidelines on keeping clean this virus will not completely go away though i see this as a seasonal flue but we will have it more under control by summer with my intuition though we will not be the same after this, this virus will change our country and outlook on our health care system.
New York extended its social distancing mandate until the end of April. Also, a tiger in Bronx Zoo contracted COVID-19.
I think it is probable that some people are seeing things better in May and others June and others in July because the waves hit us differently depending upon where we are living. We may all be correct.
A doctor friend was on a mass conference call with other doctors last week. Based upon an expert who is trying to develop a treatment for Covid-19, her belief is that we will not have schools in session and be really out and about until September, the earliest it appears that a treatment will be tested and available. If a good treatment does become available, it will be a game changer for sure.
This is kinda crazy and totally cool at the same time.
MLB is considering play an abbreviated season entirely in Arizona without fans.. Phoenix has tons of Spring training/ minor league baseball stadiums in addition to Chase Field, home of the Diamondbacks. Phoenix also has empty hotels where an entire team could stay for the shortened season. They also have empty restaurants where single teams could take over for food. imagine a live sporting event taking place again??
