@herukane @journeywithme2 MTG may be a clever operator with her own agenda, but there is something of the innocent child in her, coming to Congress as recently as 2020. She's the child in the Emperor's New Clothes. And she wiling to proclaim that the emperor is naked as a baby. She's burst that bubble for sure.

@jeanne-mayell Personally I think it's just the grift. As others noted, she's resigning the day after her pension vests. She gets free money and healthcare for the rest of her life, and she's not exactly old.

@tgraf66 - MTG is 51 - any pension she gets will be delayed until she reaches 62. She only has 5 years, so her pension would be 1% for each year of her 'high three' in addition to any FERS contributions and SS. She can carry over the employer related Health Insurance which is heavily subsidized.
