@jeanne-mayell My spouse works for the federal government and is furloughed.

One thing I didn't realize is that many federal employees have use or lose time off they need to use by the end of the year. So, if they don't take that time off they basically give it up. Understandably, they don't want to do that.

One potential implication of this is that even if the government opens before the end of the year, many employees still won't be at work because they are using their allotted time off before it expires.

Plus, the holidays are coming up. Not to mention all the people who are probably going to leave their jobs because they are fed up.

And if they lose their time off without getting compensated they will also be - understandably - angry.  (Being furloughed is not the same as having vacation time off. One reason being that you have to report to work within 24 hours if the government reopens, so you cannot make plans or take any big trips. Some people also have to take turns working and being furloughed during the day or week).

So this could still be messy when things re-open.

I need to make a correction about what I wrote.

I (happily!) found out that federal employees won't lose thier time off due to the furlough, phew!

@jeanne-mayell  Even more surprising ? She is now announcing she will read aloud the names on the list on the floor just as soon as Congress is back in session. She is definitely trying to "walk between two worlds" as my ancestors used to say. She should take note of the "things happen" to those who make the "naked emperor" unhappy and be extra cautious accordingly.

So I subscribed for the October predictions and I noticed that there really wasn't much about the election today. Which is interesting to me. That is, what is NOT given to you all is sometimes just as interesting as what messages are given. Kind of, sometimes its cause nobody asked or its not on their mind. But other times, yeah, its just interesting.

@herukane

We had predictions on Gov of California Newson's proposal #50:

  • California, close ballot initiative.  Too close to call! the result has more to do with Newsom’s popularity. I get yes. (Jeanne)
  • The ballot initiative in California passes. (Baba)

If we had some New Yorkers in our prediction group, we would have undoubtedly gotten predictions on the New York election. But I don't think we do.  We tend to get visions on topics we are individually focussing on.

Also prediction elections has become difficult because there are  new factors in national elections that take the issue away from just predicting who the most popular candidate is:  (1) massive right wing propaganda (lies) that overwhelms the news, (2) unprecedented gerrymandering, (3) fixing the voting machines, and (4) preventing/discouraging voters from voting. It is one thing to psychically read the voters, which we've been able to do years ago.  It is quite another thing to read how these new tricks are getting people elected who people did not want.

Assuming there isn't some of the trickery going on at a large scale in NYC, I put Mumdani as winner.  I don't know if that helps but it is the best I can do.

Hey @Lawrence, (he's in NYC), what do you get?

@jeanne-mayell I just saw a TikTok post by AOC (not sure if I’m allowed to link it here but should be easy to find, she probably cross posted it to other socials as well) where she said that MTG appears to be going against orange because she wanted to run for GA senate and Orange shut her down so she is now out for revenge. This is not a valid news source but I tend to believe information coming directly from AOC.

@lyndsayt It's okay to link something that AOC is actually saying. I could not find it.  But I do want people to hear her two months ago saying this:

Remember that Republicans are weaker than they look

This discussion goes in a different thread so I'm moving it to Resistance, Let us count the ways.

@jeanne-mayell okay so it’s actually from a fan page but I didn’t a little research to try and ensure it’s not AI and looks like it might be pulled from a live she did on instagram. Same outfit and the insta post seems like a clip of a live.

We tend to get visions on topics we are individually focussing on.

I mean this makes sense. Like the country is big, the world is big, and unless there is a reason for a person to focus on something outside of their region, it kind of makes sense that most would get more pictures on big things.

This is cool to hear. I'm liking both of the two things, and the third is awesome. Now I am going to need to see the NJ call so I can be calm. hehe

But seriously yeah, things are looking good, so I am hopeful.

Good news all around. Sending angel protection to Mamdani. May be he surrounded with light throughout his tenure. May NYC thrive under his guidance. May New Yorkers support him and shine a light around all five burroughs of their great city so he can lead with grace and calm.

@TonyaW sent 10 visions/predictions from a recent meditation she did, and she said it was okay to share it with you. @Tonya is very gifted.

Trump will fall down somewhere. People will say it’s AI.

He will try to take something financially from NY, it will backfire against him.

Some news about the ballroom and money laundering within the next four weeks. I still feel someone is a spy near him and working against him. A man.

Something happens in France, I see an explosion, could be metaphorical.

Police fraud comes to light in December in US

Perhaps an earthquake in San Francisco soon.

I do hear govt shutdown will end in November. See 20’s so probably later in the month.

Partial deal of insurance subsidies. Many still without

I see China growing, physically, they look on a world map to be twice as big.

More health issues surfacing for the president.

I understand from a friend in Germany that the U.S. military is telling its people who are stationed in Germany to apply for German food stamps in order to make ends meet.  This is shocking and highly shameful for our country.

How do Republicans think this is making America great again?

Anyway, here’s my random prediction:although most shutdowns do not have huge impacts on the domestic economy because they don't last long enough, this one already has impacted a whole sector of the economy, even if it hasn't shown up in the stock market or been formally measured.

An accompanying prediction is that the Republicans will try to hide these numbers.

note: The stock market It’s not a measure of a country economic health. It reflects only one part of the economy, i.e., the expectations of investors on THEIR future earnings.

While I have thought and posted that T would likely end it right before Thanksgiving in an attempt to protect republican's popularity, I feel considerable damage has already Been done to that party.

The good news is that the dems will continue to surge in popularity while the GOP will decline.
