Two recent court rulings:
(1) A federal judge blocked the Justice Department's attempt to subpoena and investigate Minnesota officials who opposed or declined to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The judge ruled that the subpoenas appeared to be retaliatory, coercive, and intended to harass state officials for exercising constitutionally protected authority under the Tenth Amendment.
(2) A federal judge also blocked the administration's use of the expanded SAVE database for voter-citizenship verification, ruling that the program violated federal privacy protections and risked disenfranchising eligible voters. The court found that the federal government could not use the database in its current form.
It is likely some of us predicted these events least once in the last 18 months. If anyone knows of a prediction for this, please post or let me know. Thank you.
