Tens of thousands of people participated in the "No Kings" Day protests across the United States, with estimates of 20,000 to 50,000 in San Diego alone, and similar large crowds reported in other cities nationwide. Overall, around 2,000 cities held protests on this day.  In my small suburb, over a thousand noisy cheerful people all ages showed up with their snarky funny signs in the pouring rain. The peaceful event was held on the Town Hall front lawn and promoted on the town's website and the League of Women Voters.

Meanwhile reports at 7 pm ET, are that the crowds in DC look "thin" and the event somber.

According to the Times.org, "Organisers said they were expecting “hundreds of thousands” to attend today’s parade but early photos suggest the turnout may not be quite as high as hoped.

"A crowd gathered in front of the Washington Monument looks especially sparse...

Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, has meanwhile just been captured on TV discreetly yawning. Trump, however, is back on his feet to salute troops dressed in uniform from the Gulf War."

Below is a snap shot of the San Diego protest:

The crowds in DC "look a bit sparse," said A.P.

I heard about 10,000 total in DC lol. It was supposed to be 250,000. There may be dramatic tantrums next week.

It was over 5.5 million in protests by late afternoon If it were to have gotten to 10 million it would met the 3.5 % rule. :)  (The "3.5% rule," in the context of social movements, suggests that no government has been able to withstand a challenge from a nonviolent movement that engages at least 3.5% of its population. This means that once a movement reaches this participation threshold, it's highly likely to achieve its goals, according to research from Harvard Kennedy School.)

What an inspiring day! Like Tesseract, I am not able to march but I am so grateful for every person that did.

I grew up in the Philly suburbs. The photos of that huge  protest are amazing. Way to represent!

To see so many citizens come together in love and hope restores the soul. America the Beautiful.

They are still counting and it was over 11 million in the protests last count now. By morning it will probably be more. I have not felt this hopeful and positive for so long. Also 37 countries joined in. Feel like we have allies still, all united against him.   I feel so hopeful and have some relief about where our people are. I wont keep posting but just wanted to share the numbers and how much lighter I feel. I feel less alone (in Florida) after today. Many predictions stated that eventually all will be alright eventually.  I can feel hope for that now. That's all. Good night and thanks for letting me share that. ♡

I marched in Dallas with thousands of people downtown - and this did not include the other sites in Dallas where they were also marching. My son, who is deployed in Guam, said they marched there as well. This peaceful movement is extremely powerful - the energy it represents is a game changer for the t**** Regime.

I marched in Richmond,VA and the crowd was huge. I went to the last march and this one was at least twice as big. Lots of young people there this time.

@jeanne-mayell My brother came to see me. Thought the parade was great. Didn't like to hear Tulsa was having a No King rally. Tulsa from two locations had 1900. I get jealous. He is going to Cancun for a wedding. My daughter in Tucson went to a rally, and she said it was sparse, though she said there were two locations. Five million. Not enough.

@elaineg 50501 is saying 11 million came out? Is there disagreement in the numbers?

@elaineg re Tucson's No King's Day

I wasn't able to attend, but from everything I heard and read, Tucson was well represented. There were at least five locations with a thousand or more at each location. The "parade" was apparently bumper to bumper for miles. Maybe it depended on "when" as well as "where" in Tucson? We did go into three digits in temp (111 I think). I only know my carport was 103. That said, it reads to me as a very good turnout.

I may be a little bit overboard on proving Tucson showed up! 😊

The AltUSNationalParkService's Facebook account says the national count was Eleven Million, but I do not know how accurate that is. I don't even know how in the world they COUNT such things! The bottom line though, is that America showed up in one way or another to make our ACTUAL feelings VERY VISIBLE!

I think the photos all over the 'net say it all, regardless of what a final "people count" may turn out to be.

As someone who cannot healthfully participate in such gatherings I have found my own way of ENERGIZING the vibration of Freedom—albeit these meditations are rather intangible to anyone but myself. However, I just found the following, (see image below) and I will now call myself a BARD, even though I write words rather than sing them. I don't sing (and you wouldn't want me to!) 🤣

All in all, No Kings Day! was a rousing success whether the count was 5mil or 20. Our point was made with gusto! The dark, like the Wicked Witch of the West, is melting, melting, melting & America's Light will NOT be diminished. Not now, not ever.

Yes, there remains much work to do, much to repair, much to re-think and refine, much to heal (!) but the so-called "dark enlightenment" fractured men (who will not be named), have lost momentum and power whether they realize it or not. Yes, the battle continues—but we the people ARE America. We will not go back. We will go forward—hard lessons in progress (deeply painful lessons) about the loopholes in the Constitution, about inequality, about ruthless cruelty, about true diversity, about the damage complacency wreaks, and about the dangers of wealth beyond sense & the subsequent arrogance of money.

We will resolve, refresh, and REBUILD. Lordy, I love those RE words! (or could you tell?) 🤣

Glad to hear it. She went with her sister-in-law. I didn't attend a rally. It was terrible here. We had constant thunder and lightning and rain from the time I woke up until 1PM. The rain would have been OK, but I'm afraid of lightning. Also, I only know one Demo. in town. I read that the Tulsa turn out was better than first reported.

On BlueSky 50501 is now saying the count is at 13,400,000.  They based this on the amount of people that registered on all organizations that were doing protests (No Kings, 50501, etc.) and then they have been asking people after if they went or not by text and email and tallying the numbers plus there are many more that just showed up without registering. Can look at the 50501 site for confirmation.

(The also have AI if they really wanted to use it that could figure it out from street cameras and time and how much areas can handle I suppose?  maybe? lol.)

But 13,400,000 is more than 3.5 % of population.

The USA has 350,000,000 people 3.5% of that is 12,250,000 people. So it was surpassed!

Just gives me a little bit of hope anyway. More than I felt last week. I will take whatever positivity there is.

(Also I read that Ice is over budget by a billion dollars and projected to run out of money by next week. I only read the headline on that though, so not sure.)

@higgimic1020gmail-com

My city has a population of about 150,000.  The county as a whole has about 290,000.

Today it was reported that 3000 showed up to the No Kings rally.

So that's 2% of the city and slightly over 1% of the county.  This is in Florida- not bad.

@ana Not bad at all. I am just going off of Google AI that said the county has 350 million people when I asked. And what the combined tallies for the protest organizers are saying online.  I don't know what is accurate at this point for totals! Who knows! But yest this is all not bad and I feel more hope so I am holding onto that . :)

(I think Google includes US citizens overseas it seems.)

AI Overview

The estimated population of the United States in 2025 is 347,275,807. This is based on mid-year estimates and includes both residents of U.S. states and territories, as well as U.S. citizens living abroad, according to Worldometer.

Hello, my friends,

I apologize that I haven't been posting much lately.  Exhaustion has been taking its toll on me.  I've been holding you all in my heart and in my prayers.

Last night as I was wrestling through the recent, unexpected loss of my brother in law, as well as the collective uncertainty, pain and destruction we are all witnessing in our world, I decided to distract myself by turning on the TV.  My eyes rested on a story on HBO entitled “What Happened on September 11.”  This was a one-hour documentary for children, which provided a sensitive and informative account of the events of that day. The film features kids in conversation with survivors and family members.  What I especially loved were the writings,  poetry and artwork the children created from the vantage point of the Survivor Tree.

I think many of you may be familiar with the Survivor Tree story.  In the middle of the 9/11 aftermath, a  decapitated, severely damaged and barely alive pear tree was found in the ground. Those clearing the rubble noticed there was one branch intact, which still showed a sign of life – a single leaf.  Although the tree was not expected to survive, it was moved and replanted in a Bronx park, where it was nurtured back to life.

After its recovery and rehabilitation, the tree was returned to the Memorial in 2010. New, smooth limbs extended from the gnarled stumps, creating a visible demarcation between the tree's past and present.

The tree is flowering and flourishing.  It has grown into a magnificent tree.

Even in our darkest times, remain hopeful.  We the people are resilient.  And we the people will survive.

The No Kings nation-wide rally was a huge success - In my opinion. I would think the numbers were 12MM+.  It contrasted to the pitiful would-be dictator military parade.  The WW2 relic squeaky tanks and 45's miserable look said it all. Then Fox Propaganda Network put a drunk Rebekah Koffler on the air to top it all off . . . in her slurred words praising "Dolly Jane Trxxp" 🤪 🤣 🤣 🤣

You can't make this stuff up 🤣
