@lovendures - this happened to me about a week ago. I thought it was odd because I had never received anything like that before. The email looks VERY legit. I did not open it, but went directly to the SSA website and logged in. There were no new messages. Definitely a scam. Thanks for warning everyone!
Hello all!
A few of us are moderators on this forum alongside Jeanne and while we don't like this part of things, we do approve/unapprove/move/remove posts as the need arises. We usually talk about it together as a group before removing anything.
In this case some blanket statements were made about certain generations, and while we all understand the pain, hurt, and uncertainty throughout the ether right now, there's a fine line between venting those frustrations and saying something offensive. In this particular case, blaming an entire generation (Those in the Baby Boomer generation) for the problems of today is shortsighted on a lot of fronts. The biggest being by every count I've read, our current President lost ground with that age demographic, while picking up ground from the generation I would have called the least likely to take his crap - my own, the GenXers.
When Dianne Feinstein passed away I wrote a somewhat angry post here about us needing age limits on politicians and I threw out the number 80. (I was angry because I knew our ability to confirm judges was going to come to a screeching halt) While there's a lot of arguments to be made on the issue overall (regardless of age), several members of this forum rightly pointed out that they were above that threshold and very much active, alert, and able to handle stressful, challenging situations. It was a good reminder to me - as a constantly evolving human - that my own anger about a situation can blind me to some of the other points that could be made. It was a good lesson and reminder to me about the forum's purpose overall - to share and grow spiritually with others. And quite simply - those same people politely but firmly reminded me that they're here too and it's never the whole of anything that should be blamed for the mistakes of others. At this point, I can't even remember who it was that set me straight because they did so in such a congenial, polite, and friendly manner, my midwestern lizard brain didn't do what it normally does by spiraling for weeks thinking about the other ways I could have said what I said and how someone on the other side of a keyboard on the other side of the world might think of me.
Many members of our forum are part of the Baby Boomer generation and are actively fighting just as hard (if not harder - they've been through these fights already and can't believe they have to get the signs out again) as the other generations.
So the offending post and some follow-ups that may have been in a similar vein in this case have been unapproved and removed because ... whether it was intended to offend or not, it did. Removing it saves us all the trouble of watching an argument unfold in a space that is supposed to be for us to join together in light to combat the darkness.
While I myself have occasionally been in violation of some of these rules in a moment of error, I'm still here posting away, learning and growing as I go, mostly because of a polite but firm reminder like this one about what should and shouldn't happen around here - I hope we can all continue to play in this sandbox of light together. Please feel free to review the forum rules by visiting the topics in this subthread: https://jeannemayell.com/community/welcome-to-prophecy-peace-tarot-wisdom-forum/
Light and love to you all!
Thank you DannyBoy much appreciated -
As an early Boomer I came of age in the era of Civil Rights, the Vietnam War, the women’s movement, counterculture, the cold war etc. bringing a combination of excitement, joy, fear, and uncertainty. Hiding under our desks in case of nuclear attack, worrying if your father would be called back up to go to Vietnam. And at first was shocked by the “Okay Boomer” thing and took it personally, though came around to feeling for people younger than I: full of ideas and plans, coming of age with school shootings, Covid and now this.
As an elementary school counselor over a 30-year period (now retired) I began to notice a shift about fifteen+ years ago. Young children began talking about taking care of animals, being human rights workers, studying ecology, shushing me so they could hear the birds outside, Harry Potter fans wondering whether they should believe in God or magic, listening to the trees. It took me fifty years to begin to listen to the trees, taught this by a ten-year-old.
Demonizing others is not a good idea – it can go way off the rails very fast. Understanding helps. Thanks again DannyBoy.
@dannyboy I completely agree with this. I also believe that intergenerational conflict plays right into the hands of our adversaries by encouraging anger and division among the rest of us. Hope lies in our willingness to set aside identity politics in favor of advocacy coalitions.
The Mayor of Boston is a hero. She has spoken for democracy in a beautiful speech that is worth seeing for inspiration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMXFjaRDa88
She will likely show up for the April 5 city protest and Women’s March and I am looking forward to it.
The WH immediately fired back their usual rhetoric, and comments readers left in the Boston Globe are also worth a look. Here is a sample:
1. "anyone who dares disagrees with trump - "radical left lunatic""
- "Mayor Wu in no way said she wanted to shelter violent criminals in Boston. Mayor Michelle Wu has consistently emphasized that Boston's policies are designed to ensure public safety and hold all individuals accountable for criminal actions, regardless of their immigration status.
Mayor Wu has stated, "If you commit a crime in Boston, regardless of your immigration status, you will be held accountable. And if you are a violent criminal, you have no place in our community."
She highlighted that the Boston Police Department collaborates with federal law enforcement on criminal matters, stating, "In every instance where an individual has broken—or is plotting to break—federal criminal law, Boston Police work hand-in-hand with federal law enforcement to keep our residents safe."
Mayor Wu noted that without a criminal warrant, the Boston Police Department lacks the authority to detain individuals if the court system orders their release. She explained, "But without a criminal warrant, BPD has no authority to detain an individual if the court system orders them released."
Mayor Wu in no way said she wanted to shelter violent criminals in Boston."
Yep. Oklahoma. That's me. My town is sometimes called welfare town. Good luck finding a job. Not on welfare, but I'm on SS. Hope I still get that.
Wu's equally inspirational statement to Congress two weeks ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHsZduW-pMs
Surrounding her with protection and strength. She is an incredibly popular mayor. May she remain safe and may she continue to lead that City.
@jeanne-mayell I think they have tunnel vision. The last time I talk to one, all she could talk about is abortion. Also, when my husband was still here, a couple of elections seemed stolen.
Watching another American hero AOC, (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) speak up for all people. Wow. That young woman cares about the working class and she knows how to explain what matters. We need more like her. I am collecting these speeches to inspire me. Here she is speaking in Las Vegas:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3lzDep1Qr0
Earlier she had 34,000 people show up in Denver, Colorado and before that she spoke in a conservative community in Colorado, and about 10 times the expected crowd showed up. Today she spoke to huge crowds in Arizona.
@tesseract @lovendures @cc21 @dannyboy
AOC and Bernie are in Tucson, AZ as I type. Reports of 20,000 people at a local high school.
Interesting, I wonder what would happen and who might notice if crowd sizes became their headline…
Although, being immun-compromised, I am unable to attend heavily populated events, several members of my family were at the Bernie-AOC rally in Tucson, AZ, on Saturday, March 22. It turns out there were 23,000 people there, 3,000 more than I posted as it was happening. The rally was both vibrant and peaceful.
Considering that there were two other major, annual events also happening in Tucson, The Arizona Air Show at Davis-Monthan AirForce Base, and the 56th Annual Spring Street Fair on Saturday the 22nd, I think 23,000 at the Bernie-AOC Rally is pretty spectacular.
Greg (first hubby, father of our sons) took this great photo of AOC. Matthew, our son, was further back in the crowd and although his photos show the expanse of people attending I thought this one of AOC was the best. I don't know if I can post more than one photo at a time so here is AOC.
I felt the need to visit this thread. We really need some good news. It's a scary time in our country. I want to acknowledge how brave Americans are. Does anyone have stories to share about our everry day heros?
The big lesson for me right now is that seemingly small things done over time add up to a lot more than we realize. An example is a local farm in my city. The owners produce completely organic fruits and vegetables (no pesticides!) and started out on a 1/4 acre during the pandemic. Now they are farming several acres and have more business than ever. This won't show up in any headlines, but what they're doing is making a difference in my city, both for human health and ecosystem health.
You may be feeling the impact of Saturn and Neptune coming into conjunction with each other. We'll feel the effects most strongly from June 10-August 12 and then more fully next year. Saturn is the planet of structures, plans, obligations, limitations. Neptune is the planet of creativity, compassion, escapism, dreams, interconnectedness.
This is an incredible time for providing structure (Saturn) to our dreams (Neptune) and making them real through concrete steps. But it's also a time when structures and behaviors that have always seemed permanent and immovable (Saturn) can be eroded by the ocean-like tides of Neptune.
Be on the lookout, too, for the "pilot episode" of the outer planets moving into their new signs from July 7-October 22 this year, before they move into these signs definitively next spring. These planets are going to be in a harmonious alignment and will give us a preview this summer of the big energies that will prevail across the planet into the 2030s!
I'll be watching for the new structures that emerge this summer and for hints of what isn't going to connect or continue. There is hope here now all around us and also ahead of us.
Dare you to hear this without tears and joy: An international student gave the most inspirational speech I've ever heard at a Harvard Commencement this year.

I went to a "No Kings" rally today. This was the first time I've ever been to a protest event. It was peaceful and congenial. I left feeling hopeful that there were so many people determined to resist the current regime.
I think that what the resistance really needs to emphasize is that the current regime is trampling the Constitution.
Many, if not most, of the terrible things they have done were done with stolen power-- Power that rightfully belongs to the states, the people, Congress, and the judiciary-- Power that was allocated to those entities by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Everyone-- right or left-- should understand that the violation of the Constitution and the law is the foundational issue.
I think if that point were emphasized, plenty of T-supporters would wake up.
