What fun! It gives us something to look forward to! (or to which we may look forward).
The Irish have a long history of excellent writing and acting and now we know that one of our own is a member of this impressive professional group.
Thank you, Lawrence and Jeanne, for allowing us in on it; we all need a lift.
Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates!🐇🐣🥚
@lawrence, I'm glad you had a good time filming and you enjoy the finished product. I live in a town with a sizable film industry, and have a number of friends who act. I have to say that I'm much more impressed with your dancing resume! 🩰
I'm really touched by all the loving comments. They filled my heart. @jeanne-mayell thanks for the question. I had to think about this one.
It's been a mixed bag of experiences. Some have been wonderful, exciting, creative and fun. All My Children, Easy Money, The Adjustment Bureau, Rosie O'Donnell Show and opening the 2017 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I've acted opposite Rodney Dangerfield, Susan Lucci and Matt Damon. And auditioning for Laverne and Shirley at Paramount Studios in LA. I was put on hold to play Squiggy's brother. (The show didn't return for another season). Paramount has a very good energy on it's lot.
Others have been horrible. Each studio and project have their own vib. It's usually a 13 hour plus day on set plus usually substantial travel time. Many projects, like Love In Kilnerry are shot on location. That brings it's own issues. Basically the crew and fellow actors set the tone. I really enjoy the actual time that you are filming. It's very stimulating creating a character. But you also will sit around for 3-5 hours between scenes. Part of each experience is extremely boring. You also learn to tune out the negative people on sets.
The competition to get roles is intense. Luckily, I'm occasionally offered roles. Then after all of this, you never know if you'll actually be in the final cut. It can be frustrating. You just have to enter every experience coming from a place of love and hope for the best.
The industry likes it when you have a project out. I'm creating that Kilnerry will lead to more jobs. I hope this gives everyone a feeling of what it is really like on set.
@cindy Thanks Cindy, Yes, my dance experience is very special to me. It touches the deepest spiritual parts of my being.
Hi,
Time for a cup of tea and an Anzac biscuit
https://www.recipetineats.com/anzac-biscuits-golden-oatmeal-cookies/
Part of the article below
It is said that the wives of soldiers came up with the original Anzac Biscuits using ingredients such that the biscuits stayed fresh for the weeks it took to reach the soldiers overseas. I’m told that the original Anzac biscuits were as hard as a rock, so hard in fact that some soldiers would grind them up and use them as porridge.
I think Anzac biscuits as we know them today are much more to my liking! 😂
Golden syrup
The only ingredient that might not be familiar to those outside of Australia and the UK is golden syrup. It’s an amber coloured syrup with the consistency of honey, and it has a toffee flavour. It has a bit of a harsh edge to the flavour so I only use it for baking, though some people use it in place of maple syrup for things like pancakes.

There are variations of the recipe, as a non-baker I have no idea which is the best one.

I am afraid I always have a bought one and like the chewy ones better than the crispy ones. Not very patriotic I guess.

@matildagirl Intrigued by the golden syrup... wonder if it's akin to our Alabama golden Eagle syrup made from cane sugar syrup, cane molasses and honey.
I have tried Anzac biscuits (we call them cookies as Southern Biscuits are a quick bread). I like them with a cup of coffee.

@journeywithme2 I was looking up various recipes and substitutes for golden syrup myself, and came across this:
Is golden syrup the same as Golden Eagle Syrup?
From what I can tell, no.
Golden eagle syrup (from the Golden Eagle Syrup Company in Alabama, USA) is a blend of corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, cane sugar syrup, cane molasses, and honey. Golden syrup is made from sugar, water, and a slice of lemon. (from https://www.internationaldessertsblog.com/make-golden-syrup/)

@matildagirl Oh my YUM!!!! Thank you!!! for sharing your cuisine. I love to travel via cooking and reading books since I have neither the means nor the physical ability to actually travel!
@matildagirl Thanks for the recipe links! I had to find a substitute for golden syrup when we moved to Germany. We use sugar beet syrup and the Anzac biscuits still taste just as good. We made some this week and they are already gone.
Congratulations, Lawrence! Happy for you!
I was scrolling through episodes of L & S the other day. I loved that show. Squiggy was such a hilarious slimeball.
You'll have to tell us sometime about working with Rodney Dangerfield. He is still one of my favorite comedians....loved him in Back to School and Caddyshack. He was the king of one-liners. Very funny man.
I just checked and Love in Kilnerry will be available for rent on Vudu May 10th. You can pre-order it also.
Bluebelle told me about this little 47 second news bit about a little boy who gave his crush a ring. worth a look:

@jeanne-mayell Thank you! That was a blast from the past.. listening .. I missed two.. I went back and watched and saw who they were then. We all chose to be here at this time... sometimes? We get so wrapped up in it happening.. we forget that.
@journeywithme2 You only missed two? That would put you in contention for current champion. I missed many more than that. When I was young, I listened to so much music on the radio that I could tell who and what was playing with just one beat of a song. Time to get back into it because it gives me so much joy.
