Big laugh.  Someone should have said that at Town Meeting this week when we were voting on the funds to update the place.

@lovendures LOL.  Nope doesn't look remotely eco friendly, does it? Growing up here I always thought it looked heavy, a little creepy.  But now with zero carbon, it's  starting to look like a fairy castle.

I think it's gorgeous.  But I like old houses.   And that one looks like it would have very thick, energy-conserving walls.

@jeanne-mayell Horatio may have been a jerk, but he sure built a cool looking house- i mean, it's got two witch hats, and a widow's walk.  Once they make it Eco-friendly, what is there not to love?

I knew someone who lived in house kind of like that in SF.  He lived on the top floor, and we would sometimes hang out in the ''witch hat'' part.  It was a small round room, with a high pointed ceiling.  There was no furniture, just colorful pillows around a large hookah pipe.  It always made me think of the inside of the genie bottle on "I Dream of Jeannie"  Here is a pic of that house that i found on the internet: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AV_8uzilNLNWD1Lr0g4YBDM0jCdbnAc2aXfCw_egtWmOP0e58EV3X5w/

@unk-p. I love that house. The rooms with pillows sound wondrous.  Given it's S.F. where it rarely snows, I wonder what the purpose of those pointy turrets are? I'm going to have to get someone to take me up to one of our town hall turrets.

@iridium, I'm glad you love the building.  I am seeing it now through new eyes.  I do love the people who work there, I should say. Many good people work in that building.

@jeanne-mayell this is off-topic, but it is an open thread, so, what about the Grackles?  Have they left yet?

@unk-p I don't know if the hungry grackles have left. After they emptied my grackle-proof Old Yankee  feeder near the end of April, I stopped feeding them.  I'm saving the last of my seed for an upcoming family reunion.  I will let you know if they are still here. I miss the little birds and the woodpeckers, but I cannot afford to feed grackles.  I know, it's unfair to grackles. :-(
