It is a monumental task being the glue and the backbone of the family. May you feel the reinforcing energies and strength we are sending you.
I pray that you will "put on your oxygen mask first" and care well for yourself, before attending to others. Doing so will help give you clarity on prioritizing the needs vs. wants of others. ❤️
@bright-opal You are dealing with a lot. I'm sending you prayers so that you are supported and guided in making the best decisions possible under very difficult circumstances, first for yourself and then for your mother and goddaughter. May you receive support as you have given it to others.
Oh my!
I’m glad you thought to reach out to us.
This must seem overwhelming to deal with and I am so sorry it’s hitting all at once.
You found a blessing in seeing light with your youngest niece which is wonderful news. So happy she is doing better.
Who sings for the songbird?
I will keep you in prayer. Take each day as it comes and try to bend in the wind whenever possible.
May more peaceful and love filled days come your way soon.
This afternoon, we were told my Mom should be going to a palliative home soon. We are blessed as it is the best one in the region, and it is free! It's by the Saint Lawrence River and the grounds are wonderful. And they offer great support for caregivers and the family as well. I may even have a little bed to stay by her side when needed. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Reading these replies brought tears to my eyes and gave me strength.
Hello @lovendures, can you tell me what you mean about "Who sings for the songbird"? I do have 2 birds and one of them can drive people crazy in the house since I keep their cage open. Or could it be something else?

That is wonderful news. Even though the reason for the move is saddening, your mother will get good care and you will have a burden lifted.
So about a month ago, I was told my department would be dissolving and we were to try and get placed within the organization for internal positions as well as seeking external ones. I interviewed for two positions already, learned that I did not get one but had a good interview this afternoon. However I’m in the DC area and work in government contracting so all of that is in flux of course. I’m trying to make sure I hurry up and find a job but it seems like the worst is yet to come with the current administration. I’m just asking for support because I’ve had a few days where I feel like I am at my wits end tbh.
@leebee I am so sorry to hear you are having to deal with job issues at a time like this. I am sending you a phalanx of work angels to keep you financially secure and employed.
@bright-opal It is a saying.
A songbird gives and gives of its song but who is there to give to sing for the songbird in return?
I recognize all the you are giving without the gift coming back to you. We all are in need of the songbird's song, even the songbird.
