I haven't been posting much lately, as I've had lots on my plate. I have been stopping by, reading and sending light, love and prayers to those in need. Will continue to do so.

I have my youngest & their girlfriend coming for Christmas (yippee!), but I still have no real holiday spirit. Not a single decoration has made it out of storage, and that may hold true for the remainder of the season. Oh well.

On a good note, the day before Thanksgiving, my father was officially graduated from hospice. This is a rare phenomenon (occurring in only less than 7% of cases). I'm not holding my breath about his tenure here, but I am glad that he's happy that he graduated.

@cindy That's wonderful news about your father. And I think we all have holiday burn-out already. My mantra for December is, "Don't worry, be happy."

@cindy Great news about your father! My mom was taken off hospice, too. I was ever so grateful for their care. An extra set of eyes was so important when her health was declining. And you can always admit him again if needed. Hospice is an example of angels among us. ❤️

@cindy I have never heard of someone coming off hospice, although my knowledge of hospice is limited to my mother in law. Hoping your dad continues on the "happy" note.

So, bad news I'm sorry to report.

It's been a week since my targeted blood patch for my CSF leak and I am about 90 percent sure it has failed.

There has zero improvements to pressure related symtpoms. I've been lying flat everyday doing the bare minimum and not one thing has changed.

This will now be my fourth failed blood patch. The last one was different because it was targeted and the others were non-targeted, but it has been the same zero improvement.

I feel devastated about this because I worked so hard to get the exact spot of the CSF leak found (I waited years and years), and when it is finally found, this fails anyway.

My thinking now is to try and understand now why it failed. I have deep suspicion it may be a CSF-venous fistula instead and this is why it failed to respond to any blood patching, and that will require a different treatment altgoether. Usually it is either surgery or a new catherisation technique where they can go into the vein and block the fistula (which would be my preference).

Right now, I'm just trying to get into a positive mood for Christmas and another new adventure that awaits in the New Year. The answers are coming, albeit slowly.
