It would indeed! ?????

Lost or abandoned cats, dogs  horses, a cow,  pigs, a goat, and deer come for days to weeks here. How we find owners varies but gosh its been interesting.

One little pomeranian ran away over 4th of July fireworks at distant baseball stadium put on show. Owners searched and searched. He ran 5 miles either along I-5 freeway for 5 miles or much farther multiple farm fields, back roads and a long old lane but ended up at our front door as if he knew us.

Through random postings and phone calls by each end--lost and--found and many errors by people answering that phone service he was reunited with his frantic  owners. Other similar stories for many, many animals mostly dogs it seems.

Ardent praying owner told me he was drawn to finding us by energies of knowing he'd be helped. Loved that .

Have discovered all species of domestic and farm animals comcoming back our long old lane to us over many decades. We hang onto them, feed and give love and attention to until we find owners.

A pig once walked in my front door into living room. Was really cute and fun. An hour later his brother in yard. Another brother then his mom and dad. 5 pigs eat a lot ruined our yards all around house deep digging. Found them homes in an animal sanctuary in another town where they were neutered, fed, and cared for by donations and volunteers with many many other mistreated or starving animal rescuers.

Oh the stories of my life! Hahahahaha. ?

@michele-b, wonderful! I do not want to go past all the human suffering, but animals are often forgotten when mankind is in trouble. I remember the stories of the man in Syria who tried to help all the lost cats in his city under siege. Things like that are heart-wrenching and beautiful at the same time.

Here's a link in case you've never read about it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/gallery/2019/aug/06/the-cat-man-of-aleppo-rescuing-battle-weary-syrian-strays

-> this is the website of his sanctuary btw. https://ernestosanctuary.org/story/

If he can rise to the occasion in the middle of war, so can Oregon. Stay that beacon, sweet lady. It is sorely needed.

We live on the East coast.  My husband took his walk this morning and remarked that the sky, which was supposed to be sunny, crystal clear and blue, has a funny, milky cast to it.   He thought it might be smoke coming from the West coast.

I checked the local weather and that opaqueness in the sky is due to the wildfires.  The smoke has been picked up in the jet stream and will continue to carry the smoke east, around a ridge of high pressure in the plains and right into our area.   It’s not supposed to be affecting the air quality here, but based on how I’m feeling, I wonder.

I'm praying for you, dear @michele-b, our beautiful beacon of light.  I'm praying for all of us.  Really looking forward to Wednesday's meditation.  Take good care and remain hopeful, everyone.  ❤️

Yes, same here. We are in Michigan. As we did our morning walk yesterday, we came up the hill (to facing east) and I remarked to my husband, is that the moon?? Nope - it was the sun in the sky. Orange/pink with hazy streaks - it looked a little like Jupiter. We could look right at it and the sky is hazy around it. Apparently, the smoke from the wildfires is high up in the atmosphere, so it is affecting the appearance of the sun, but I don't think it is affecting air quality lower down, so that is good.

So very very true. Most do not understand the concept of sacred and sentient consciousness in all

Nor that mistreating them is mistreatment of all energetically or individually including humans. Or anything close to we are all connected and atoms/consciousness part of one another and our mother earth, father sun/sky/cosmos/All.

We destroy or we create/re-create ourselves by our consciousness and our honoring All.

All is sacred and holy and part of God and Divine Consciousness.

The smoke from the west coast wild fires has reached the White House and N. Europe now.

Arizona had less than many states in the US.  SO odd.

It also reached  the https://abc7.com/weather/satellites-show-smoke-from-us-wildfires-reaches-europe/6425577/?fbclid=IwAR2Nl5LnDtHmlyh_Mpg5P0WOBUCUZ1RJIjQcEnTvc4inZtIzlTkHf3D7T7g

Oregon Wildfires Alert for Next Potential Crisis.

UPDATE 11 a.m. Thursday: The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries warned people to be alert to potential floods and debris flows from Thursday evening into Friday morning.

"Debris flows are rapidly moving, extremely destructive landslides. They can contain boulders and logs transported in a fast-moving soil and water slurry down steep hillsides and through narrow canyons. They can easily travel a mile or more.

A debris flow moves faster than a person can run. People, structures and roads located below steep slopes in canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk," the agency said in a statement Thursday morning.

The Santiam Canyon has been placed under a flash flood watch from Thursday afternoon into late evening by the National Weather Service as potentially heavy rain could trigger debris flows in fire burned areas."

i guess we shouldn't have been praying for rain so we could move all the smoke out and be able to breathe again. Now its flash flooding down mountainsides and into all of our fire destroyed canyon ares overflowing our rivers potentially across our evacuation road routes whose fire barricades were just lifted and people racing to check and clean out their homes.

My kids are saying "What next after this? Locusts? Earthquakes?  Cascadia Sub-Induction Plate Shift with Earthquakes and a Tsunami?

@jeanne-mayell

My husband is really worried about any forest animals that survived the fire.  Torrential flash flooding down mountainsides with no breaking cover for landslides may take out so many deer and elk and bears etc. not to mention all other animal species and plant life.

???

@michele-b. I have thought the same. Prayed for them last night, sent healing and hope and protection to them all, dear beautiful animals.

I am seriously afraid to ask "What's next?" anymore.

Now people in Michigan are being told to stay inside because mosquitos are carrying and spreading deadly encephalitis.

Oregon will recover. We are strong and we are determined, but the destruction is hard to witness.

God bless all firefighters and first responders.

@michele-b, what a horror of biblical proportions you're in right now:-(

Your comment about your husband resonates so much. Is there anything that can be done for the forest creatures? Anything they do to try and temper the mudslides?

Wow! That's amazing and i can so relate. I started caring for starving or abandoned cats when i was a very young girl. I snuck outside with some pretty strange foods or leftover scraps but my wild menagerie gobbled or drank down every bit.

It was cold and snowy in the winter but we had our little kids version of a fort built outside from the summer and that provided some shelter.

It was something on my little kids level that i was drawn to do. I did it as an adult for decades. In a really crummy basement apt. In college I had an opening upwards basement window.

I had an a plug in popcorn popper i used as a precursor to a primitive hot pot and could afford 1 box of cheap mac n cheese and canned milk (no margarine usually much less butter) and i skipped breakfast.

Made the mac n cheese for my lunch and saved the rest for dinner and the ever present stray cats that found me by that window. Sometimes they came inside to visit and eat and sometimes I put a bowl with a little bit of leftovers outside. I got fleas something terrible from letting them in but I persevered!  Haha.

Its just one of the things i do that seems necessary and right. This amazing man just gave up more and does wonderfully much more. Bless that good man and his many cats! ?

Caring for animals of any kind is do wonderful but caring for ones that aren't our own is a labor of extra love.

My friend lives near the Bobcat fire in LA and has been told she needs to be prepared for a possible evacuation soon.  Less than an hour ago they had a moderate 4.6 earthquake which shook her house.   To say her nerves are rattled is an understatement.
