I’ve had a few conversations recently with people who would consider themselves light workers and part of the spiritual world and they’ve all bought into the conspiracy that the coronavirus vaccines will have microchip / Nano chips in them. They’re people who will be voting democrat so I’ve been really confused how this conspiracy has crossed that line into the blue zone.
Luckily, I was able to talk to one of them yesterday about it and she pretty quickly came back to the side of reason but it definitely worries me that the spiritual community seems to be getting targeted with some of these new conspiracies.
i just asked the question on another forum topic but does anyone get any reads on if/when Q will be exposed? And/or when people will be able to see logic and reason again and be able to see through these conspiracies?
@firstcat I keep a box of granola bars and $1 bills on the passenger seat of my car. If there's a panhandler at a red light, I roll down my window and give them a granola bar and a dollar. Some people see this as "enabling" but I don't think it's my place to judge. I don't know what the person's situation is.
I posted a link to a Bob Mould song/video a few days ago on another thread.
Here's one relating to this thread. (Bob can be one angry dude, so I don't think the energy is good to dwell on but I do think the words and graphics are great):

I think interest in the QAnon theory will gradually ebb from here on out as people adjust to the normalcy of a Biden presidency. I see it being relegated back to truly fringe after 2024.
I read an article in the NYT magazine a few weeks ago about QAnon, and reading about this imagined alternate reality of satanic cabals made me understand the energy this idea exerts and how it can pull in people who lack grounding, be it social, geographic, spiritual, or personal grounding. Add in the tunnel vision that can be induced by endlessly watching YouTube, and you have a recipe for brainwashing. Ultimately, I think cultural dislocation is the main root of not just the spread of QAnon, but even Trumpism. That's why seemingly well-off, educated people can get sucked into these delusions. Because even well-off people in our society now lack enmeshment in community or a strong sense of cultural belonging.
Algorithms are also a problem. Youtube, Facebook etc. guide you to a host of unsavory theories. If somebody would check a video about Corona virus you can be guided to QAnon theories within 3 clicks. It's a rabbithole many cannot get out of. People seem to think that you 'research' topics by browsing a website like that.
Basically this will not go away easily if those algorithms aren't fixed. I for one worry a lot. There are a lot of nutcases here as well (burning G5 transmission masts for example) and one of our political parties tries to emulate Trump in making everything a populist thing. It isn't connected to Trump only anymore. It is a tool many dictators have used in the past and has now started to spread among Western society. Corona virus has made this explode into what it is today.
I hope it will go away, but I do not think it will that easily. Too many politicians are now using it as a way to keep (or get) power. It needs to be stomped out, but that, will take education, strong politicians and a lot of dialogue.
As for spiritual people going along with this, I think it is the need some people have to buck mainstream.
It is definitely a cult-like behavior and following. You would be surprised how quickly a person can become an enthusiastic follower of a cult. I also do not use those words lightly. A close friend of my husband's family lost a daughter who literally distributed and drank the Kool-aid Jim Jones had to offer. As a very concerned parent this friend pleaded with Congressman Leo Ryan to get involved. We all know how that tragedy unfolded in the jungles of Guyana.
It is a different time now. We are now more aware of cults, how they operate, spread disinformation and recruit others. Unfortunately we are playing catch up to their smart use of internet technology to spread their poison.
Religion and spiritually are deep seated and experienced belief systems that form a cultural referencing point for looking and explaining our world and our place in it. Why are we here? What are we meant to be and do? And even why do others (i.e. those we perceive as not only "not us" but more often "not like us" and other cultural and organizing belief systems might be seen as fitting in here--such as politics
This not truly a part of their religion or belief system (unless say a deeply Bible or Koran based religious system were to take and use very specific passages --say an eye for an eye and whatever creates the foundation for Muslims who act out in revenge violence) thought and practice.
People who interweave politics into other aspects of their belief systems are just acting and reacting (much like the computer search algorithms previously brought up on this thread) from their human side not their original or true nature of God/goddess/Divine/good side
We all mix and match our belief systems to express and even to release for many people their emotions as well as their beliefs.
A truly atheist or truly practicing agnostic or full practicing any other belief based system to live by would not have such a need except in a fully anthropological way as in ordering the rules of the campsite so everyone sitting around the fire got fair based amounts of time to warm themsemselves or lets say cook their game meat after "accidentally" discovering that raw game meat made them ill and cooked did not.
If we perecive things as coming from spiritually guided principles in any sense of the word spiritual we always must ask ourselves"is this in the highest sense of doing good for the good of all" or is this justcme expressing as me with all of my own personal wants and needs having nothing whatsoever about caring for all others? In other words does the "divine godhead" take sides?
Or is this just let's say a very human algorithm going to the most obvious, most common search page of our most frequently acted upon results from another part of the system?
And we all need to look perhaps at our own "gut feelings " our "dreams" and our "vsions" as well as our "intuitions" with a similar lens.

I’m also baffled why so many kind and loving people in my life, who consider themselves spiritual seekers and lightworkers, have unquestioningly embraced QAnon conspiracy theories and a president who seems completely antithetical to their proclamations of “love and light.”
I have a theory to add to this discussion about why this might be happening.
I, like so many in my circle of friends, used to listen to meditation videos on Youtube. These videos incorporate solfeggio frequencies and binaural beats to heal, recall past lives, communicate with spirit guides and strengthen the connection to the divine. I had an Ah-Ha moment one night when I jolted awake after drifting off during a guided meditation.
What subliminal messages could my brain, in an unprotected meditative state, be receiving while listening to these kinds of videos? Can I trust the people who post them? How do they know the effects they’re causing to our psyches and in our bodies? What if they’re causing more harm than good? Is it possible that subliminal messages are embedded in some of these videos that can brainwash listeners into believing certain things that they otherwise wouldn’t embrace?
Needless to say, I don’t use these videos to meditate anymore, but many of my spiritual-seeking friends still do. It makes me wonder if these videos may have contributed to this shift in their thinking.
I completely understand.
Some really great content on YouTube and the communities on there has turned sour for me ever since so many people aligned themselves with the QAnon conspiracies and supported Trump, especially more so this past year with the US election and the pandemic.
For a period of time, I tried to ignore it all, but it became such a toxic environment that I had to cut ties .
It really is a shame that really decent people within spiritual communities have gone down this path.
If I'm being honest, there is still a lot of good intention out there, but everyone has their beliefs about what they feel is the correct point of view.
I think what has become particularly divisive is the snobbery in spiritual communities - that if you are not on-board with the same point of view or belief, then you are deemed inferior or spiritually immature in some way.
I came to this community because it is more inclusive and better at filtering out some of the more extreme conspiracy movements and beliefs, which is a blessing because that seems hard to find these days.
.
There is a lot I could say here, but I have to be careful not to come across as condescending or insulting. I think a lot of it is that - if we're honest - many people who are involved in so-called spiritual work are in some ways pretty gullible anyway. Because they lack discernment, they are unable to distinguish the phantoms and fears created by their own minds from actual information that they get psychically, so they believe whatever comes into their heads without vetting it in any way. That bleeds over into their real lives, and they just accept what they are told without questioning it because that's what they're accustomed to doing in their "spiritual" work. Not all of them, of course, but because we do deal with information from unknown sources on a daily basis, we have to become skeptics and learn how to interpret what we get in light of the 3D world we're living in. Some people forget that skepticism is often a good thing, and should be encouraged.
Yes I agree with discernment very much.
I also think that is applicable with discerning information on social media as well - especially with the amount of made up stuff circulating on there about election fraud and vaccinations. A lot of people think a post they have seen on Facebook for example is more truthful than any other verified source of information and this is now crossing over into science, and a lot people are falling into the trap of denying reality, such as the coronavirus being fake, and choosing to believe whatever they want.
I feel as we move into 2021 and beyond, we are seeing more of the breaking down of the main pillars of society - with religion, politics, science etc. I don't think they will be completely broken away, but they will certainly be revamped in some way.
