My Mom and I watched the debate, she hid under a blanket the whole time. She couldn't take the confrontational aggression coming from Twitler. (Side note, he seemed extra orange last night, wow!) I knew going in it was going to be rough, I think given the circumstances Biden did quite well. I was watching on NBC and even the analysts they had were left a little speechless on what they had just witnessed.

Someone mentioned they only saw one debate happening. I can see now, how maybe Biden will pull out of the remaining debates if this is how Trump behaves, they definitely should have had a mute button ready.

Yofisofi,

Exactly. The worst part(s) of themselves shrouded in a very thinly veiled cloak of acceptability.

I won "debate bingo" seven different ways across four debate bingo cards last night.  It was a horrific display -- I thought to myself at the beginning "Well, I'll never cross this square off."  Nope -- I crossed the worst ones you can think of off.

My glimmer of hope:  Biden was at his best when he wasn't breaking and falling for the traps Trump laid for him.  By this, I mean, the interruptions -- Biden fought back on a few of these, but when he turned, looked straight at the camera (and thus the American people) and addressed the nation, those were his strongest moments.

I'm a terrible human being, but I fired off an angry gram to my mom this morning.  How she can stand by and still vote for him after his "stand ready" comment to the Proud Boys -- I flat out asked her if this is the America she envisions her grand daughters growing up in.  It was not my proudest moment, but subtlety was lost months ago.  She gets her absentee ballot any day now.

And on that note, I filled out my absentee ballot and dropped it off to my clerks office yesterday an hour before the debates started.

I stand by my choice :-)

The answer to your question, it is that they are single issue voters. For most of those undecideds, the issue is abortion. In their eyes its a choice between a hedonistic tyrant and a baby killer. Everyone else has made up their minds because it is an easy decision-either they support Trump due to greed or hatred, or they don't and will vote Biden.

As far as Wallacw losing control of the debates, I cant fault him. Anyone would have unless they stooped to Trump's level and fully engaged him. Trump didn't do any prep because this has been his plan all along.....bully, overtalk, throw out lies and not allow rebuttals, and act "tough," and it worked perfectly for his base. Anything Wallace couldve done to reclaim control would have been met with even more bullying from Trump and lost control of it it even more.

Entertaining series of tweets on "Who won the debate?"  Especially this one:

What did chill me was his "stand down and stand by" comment to those Proud Boy nut jobs. Not only was it Trump declining to condemn white supremacy, but I saw on Twitter that they (not surprisingly) took it as a call to arms.

I fear that was the "result" of this debate. Nancy Pelosi was right to discourage Biden from doing the debate, but that would have given T fodder to declare Biden "scared" of him. The call to the "Proud Boys" was disturbing me most. People have already made up their mind if they are voting for the fascist Orange Nightmare.

I don't feel there may be another debate between T and Biden for some reason. Wondering if anyone else is sensing this. I think there are two more scheduled, but I feel that IF they happen it will only be one more - if any.

I am looking forward to seeing the Harris/Pence VP debate. Kamala will wipe the floor with Pence! It's almost an unfair debate given her skills in the courtroom! LOL ? (Oct 7)

Co-workers talking about the debate like it was a reality TV show. Ridiculous. What happened to this country?

I wasn't planning on donating to Biden campaign but said screw it after that "debate", I gave $100. I hope Biden has another great fundraising month for September.
