Wow. such powerful uplifting words from a modern day prophet.

As much darkness as there is still, I believe that many have turned the corner and are now burning more brightly then they ever have before.

Today my conservative BFF* sent me a WaPo editorial

That editorial is from a Republican fellow of the American Enterprise Institute-- a conservative think tank .  It is in their interest to write stories that will get people to question Trump's opponents' fitness for office.   The only person who is mentally unfit to be president is Donald J. Trump. So wondering why we would be giving something coming out of the likes of the American Enterprise Institute so much press here?   Fox News and the White House press office will be spewing out plenty of that so we don't need to.

An example of a statement grounded in white privilege:
"It's horrible that an innocent black man was killed, but the property damage has to stop."

What it SHOULD say:
"It's horrible that property is being damaged, but the killing of innocent black people has to stop."

The Dalai Lama is indeed a modern day spiritual conduit and a beautiful ancient soul.

Though I'm not a Tibetan Bhuddist technically, I do have a profound respect and love for him, and wish I could have posted his picture. He just radiates light, and is a joy to behold.

This morning I was so sad to see the news of the  murder of David Dorn in St. Louis last night.... a black man and retired police captain who was gut-shot trying to protect a friend's store from looters. Apparently no arrests have been made, and no one knows who did it ... he was found dead on the sidewalk. (USATODAY source).

How many more? The suffering continues. It's good to look at things from different directions to avoid knee-jerk reactions of anger, so just sayin'....

The Tibetans have been going through oppressive violence since the early 1950's and have managed to retain their faith. The Dalai Lama is a wonderful emmisary of strength and light. He raises the vibes wherever he goes.

@dhyanaji Okay this is what I read about Trump refusing to leave office:

If Trump were inclined to overstay his term, the levers of power work in favor of removal. Because the president immediately and automatically loses his constitutional authority upon expiration of his term or after removal through impeachment, he would lack the power to direct the U.S. Secret Service or other federal agents to protect him. He would likewise lose his power, as the commander in chief of the armed forces, to order a military response to defend him. In fact, the newly minted president would possess those presidential powers. If necessary, the successor could direct federal agents to forcibly remove Trump from the White House. Now a private citizen, Trump would no longer be immune from criminal prosecution, and could be arrested and charged with trespassing in the White House. While even former presidents enjoy Secret Service protection, agents presumably would not follow an illegal order to protect one from removal from office.

@suspira44  Agreed. Provided Biden wins the electoral college and is certified (which I believe happens in December) trump can go pound sand. Also, I don't see that he's got the balls to remain in the White House if he's not the winner. The bigger concern is that he and Barr will do anything, everything, to prevent the election from proceeding in an orderly fashion. Those two are cut from the same cloth. They're both about the same age, both from NYC, and both very much Archie Bunker types. Barr has some better education but the same authoritarian tendencies. Right now he's living his dream -- powerful beyond his wildest dreams. He's loving it.

One part of me really feels that trump's expiration date has passed, his presidency is effectively over, and Biden is inevitable, no matter how ugly his win might be. Another part feels that the darkest forces will stop at nothing to keep trump in power. However, what is happening on the streets does feel different, and I'm not sure that even Barr, Putin, trump, and their entire gang of thugs and degenerates can stop the tide from turning him out on his rear.

Oh wow, I just had a vision of Bunkerman escorted in handcuffs and charged with criminal trespass on January 22.

On a lighter note the soon to be ex Mrs Hanrrady just said “ it wasn’t his politics it was listening to him have phone sex every night with trump.  That puts a smile on my face!

@jeanne-mayell

That gave me good goosebumps! How wonderful.

I also wanted to share this story of a 29 year old black man whose family lived in the house and neighborhood for 54 years, but he suddenly saw his neighborhood become more gentrified and felt like he couldn't even go out for a walk (with everything going on now) in his own neighborhood. Shawn Dromgoole posted on Facebook and in the Nextdoor app that he was scared to leave his house alone in the wake of George Floyd's death. His neighbors in his Nashville community immediately stepped up.
