@journeywithme2  This story has to get more attention.  Rachel Maddow gave me the first reporting of it last night. I suspect she won't let it die.  TRUMP KNEW IN MARCH and did NOTHING. I am truly sickened by this and am waiting for further confirmation and extended reporting.

Does anyone know if this Russian practice violates international law in any court?  How about Trump's knowledge without consequences?  Is that being complicit?  Does that violate an international law?  I am not sure that he will be held accountable in the US, simply because he has not been held accountable here for anything in any significant way.  Maybe outside help, from altruistic international courts, is warranted.

@billy-mike

I've been asking, "Where's the UN? Where's the Hague?" for the last couple of years.

As far as I can tell, unless bullets start flying * on US soil *, no other country will step in to help.

I pray nightly for Canada to invade...

@laura-f For the young ones in our lives, I pray for a public, logical, measured dose of real justice without violence. The days of white male dominance are numbered, and the boys and men who are aware are relieved. The GOP seems hellbent on dismantling our nation, and has succeeded to an extent I can only imagine.  They are locusts.  Our response must be to plant new crops, and to steadfastly defend their growth.

@billy-mike. Thanks for posting about Putin putting a bounty on U.S. soldiers. I hope some republicans will see that video. We've got some predictions on that situation that are now true:

With a record 49% disapproval rating, Trump said on Fox News to Sean Hannity that "Biden is going to be president because some people don't love me, maybe..." Reported here in People Magazine.

This declaration of defeat is a first for him, and it also fits so many of our visions for this time period of Trump dissembling.

I think Mary Trump also turned in some financial records to the NY Times. Probably related to family trusts and LLCs.

This the article written by NY Times in 2018. The person who provided all the information had to be close to the family. It was tax returns from Fred SR

Iran has issued an arrest warrant on T. Has this ever happened before?? Now he is going to say that this was Obama

Iran has issued an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump over the drone strike that killed a top Iranian general in January, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Monday.

Trump is one of 36 people Iran has issued arrest warrants for in relation to the death of Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Fars, but the Tehran attorney general Ali Alqasi Mehr said Trump was at the top of the list.

Mehr claimed Trump would be prosecuted as soon as he stands down presidency after his term ends, Fars reported.

Iran also said it had asked Interpol to issue a Red Notice for these 36 individuals, semi-official state news agency ISNA reported, though it was unlikely that Interpol would grant the request. CNN has contacted Interpol for comment.

Supreme Court just ruled for women’s right to choose. Ruling against the Louisiana law restricting abortion access. John Roberts ruled with past precedent. Now I hope they rule against Trump on the taxes which when challenged before, the Court ruled in favor of providing taxes to the Congress as per Constitution by an 8-1 vote.

@lenor, @deetoo WOW that is awsome.  I was really worried.  It looks like John Roberts has woken up and gone back to the basis of law.  I don't believe they will release thetax returns to the public but I think they will release them to certain courts that are addressing a specific area.  Like Tax Fraud which you can be sure happened.

Just in another low from the Supreme Court  for T.

Washington (CNN) - Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberal justices on the Supreme Court on Monday to block a controversial Louisiana abortion law that critics said would have closed nearly every clinic in the state.

The 5-4 ruling is a win for supporters of abortion rights who argued that the law was not medically necessary and amounted to a veiled attempt to restrict abortion.

The majority opinion was penned by Justice Stephen Breyer, who wrote that the majority "consequently hold that the Louisiana statute is unconstitutional."

He added later: "The evidence also shows that opposition to abortion played a significant role in some hospitals' decisions to deny admitting privileges."

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

(Currently doing a happy dance in my office)

I am so happy right now!  The Supreme Court has ruled against Louisiana in the abortion case we have all been watching.

What does this mean?

Basically, Roberts has put his foot down and said "I will follow the law, even if I disagree with it."  Remember that when a similar case came from Texas a few years ago, Roberts sided with the conservative judges against abortion.  But because the Louisiana case is practically identical to the Texas case, Roberts went against his own views and ruled for the law and for women's rights.

So, what does this mean?

First, it is yet another blow for the Predator in Chief.  Three cases where he lost for the conservatives.  Yet another example of how he can't deliver for the conservatives who seem to have made it their mission to make African Americans slaves, Hispanics to be shipped out of the US, the Gay/Lesbian/Transgender community extinct, and women to be chained to the kitchens and made silent by society (not much different from what the Taliban wants, actually, but at least the Taliban admits it).

Now, Trump will try to make this a rally cry for his base.  "Give me four more years and I will stack the court."  It may work for his die-hards, but many conservatives are demoralized by this ruling.  All the states who passed laws (including my state, Tennessee, which passed a law outlawing all abortions after a heartbeat is detected-AKA six weeks pregnant) are now seeing that the current court will likely uphold abortion rights for women and will take down laws that limit that right without justification.  So many laws will likely be struck down or limited in some way.

Now, the danger isn't over yet.  The Supreme Court may very well outlaw abortion.  But Roberts clearly sent a message today that if he is going to overturn abortion, it will not be through the states' attempts to pass unconstitutional laws just to force the issue.  For now, this hurts Trump and will likely keep at least a few voters who supported him from going to the polls.  After all, if he can't build the wall, have the best economy, or outlaw abortion in four years, why would you give him another four?

Another plus is that Roberts is signaling that he is using past law to make his decisions.  This is VERY IMPORTANT when you consider that Trump's taxes are still undecided.  If Roberts keeps to past law to make his decisions, then Trump will likely lose that case too, assuming the four liberal judges side with him and/or some conservative judges who may fear that a Democratic President will use Trump's case to further his or her own corruption.

I will eagerly watch for Trump's tax case.  Because it may be the final blow for Predator in Chief.

These last few months feel like a version of "Rocky IV."  (To those who haven't seen it, Rocky fights a Russian boxer, Ivan Drago, after Drago kills Apollo Creed in a boxing match.)  I feel like the American people are Rocky right now.  We are angry that we have seen our friends hurt and/or killed (the parallel with Apollo Creed and George Floyd is striking in the sense that Drago shows the same disregard for a person's death that Trump does).  We have went through hell the last few years and are heading to the battle with the single minded focus of taking Trump down.  If Republicans try to keep us from the polls, who cares!?  We will come anyway!  If Fox News and their ilk try to discourage us with their lies, we brush them off.  With every small victory, I feel we are Rocky in the final rounds of the match.  We have been knocked down hundreds of times, yet we keep jumping back on our feet and keep fighting.  And now Trump (Drago) is starting to doubt.  He finally realizes that he may not win.  And we keep punching over and over and over.

Soon, we will deal the knockout blow.  And Trump will be unable to get back up.

So, for those who want to watch a cheesy 80s money and look for inspiration in our troubled times, this is Allyn's MOVIE OF THE WEEK!

Seriously though, with every small victory, we are that much closer to taking Trump and his cronies out forever.  It doesn't matter what he does now.  Every act he does only succeeds to harden our resolve and makes us all the more determined to fight it out to the end.  We have already proved that we will keep getting back up whenever we fall.  But Trump can't, and once we succeed in knocking him out, he will stay down, and we will drape the American flag over our shoulders and celebrate our victory in remembrance of those we lost and to make a better tomorrow.

Hope that this post gives everyone a much needed boost (silly "Rocky" movie references nonwithstanding, of course.)  Remember, Trump is the one being knocked around now.  He won't survive this round, but we will.  Because we already have!

GO LIGHT WORKERS!!!!!!!!!!
