Pelosi is not a senator. Our senators are Harris & Feinstein. She's a Rep, so she is up for election every 2 years, this one included. I heard a rumor there's now a 3rd party candidate in her race.
Yup yup yup. What you describe is what I have been seeing. This makes it even more important that Biden win by a landslide.
@Allyn, your analyses is well appreciated. I understand that it works that way and that change for a party like this is a risk, however, if it stays a two party system how can the US ever truly be a democracy? The power just flip-flops between the two which in turn gives donors all the power (no risk of other parties gaining traction). Even the UK now has a few more minor parties that matter in government...
About 90 years ago The Netherlands were firmly entrenched in 4 'pillars' (separate groups) of/in society: protestants, Catholics, liberals/humanists and socialist democrats. This had a large impact on our country for many years and gave rise to at least one political party for each group, which later broke into more. We were taught about this in the 80s as if it was a thing of the past, but even though people now engage which each other and Christianity "doesn't matter" that much anymore, the political parties stayed. This lead to virtually no corruption in politics, because you never know which party gains power. I think we are nr. 5 of least corrupt on the global corruption list.
I do think that the States have the segments that started the divide in The Netherlands over a 100 years ago. You have the firm christian base/conservationists, the liberals, far left (not the same as 'our left' by far btw;-), the 'neutrals' and probably more groups I cannot think off. Breaking away from the status quo is the hard one I guess...
If anyone is interested to read about the topic of separation of society due to region/politics you can find a nice article on Wikipedia about it called: pillarisation.
Oh I think we are going to see a lot of distractions in the next few months. Anyone notice no mention of the Russian bounty on our military by any Reps? MoscowMitch is following the Orange ones lead, his latest campaign ad is about losing our historical culture. At the end of it is a really strange piece that ask why Lenin’s statue is still standing? Can’t figure out if he is comparing the Confederates with the Bolsvics? (I know I spelled that wrong). I have also noticed a new trend of attacking female veterans. Tucker Carleton should be shot for his attack on Duckworth. Meanwhile the orange one is getting more and more bizarre. Someone should educate him (lol I know) on the term “left wing fascist”. Something that doesn’t by definition exist. They need to be educated on the difference between a memorial and a monument.
I received my notice that Mary Trumps book is being released early. I usually don’t buy books like that but I couldn’t resist that one. Mrs orange ones former assistant and good friend who was thrown under the bus a year or so ago, has written a tell all about her. Release date in September. They are coming out of the woodwork to make a buck before the great fall.
Teh orange ones attach on Bubba Wallace and NASCAR didn’t produce what he wanted. He called for an apology to “the good drivers” by Bubba. The drivers stand by their own. There are very few moonshiners runners in the sport anymore. Most drivers are business oriented and media savvy. Not even Car owners Childers and Penske spoke up. Childers was on the board of the NRA. When a driver dropped the n word a few month's ago and lost his ride it was due to the sponsors on the car that objected. NASCAR deals with a lot of big name sponsors that have very specific contracts.
oh well we all need to buckle up the next months until November are going to be bumpy.
@allyn This is a very impressive analysis. I definitely did not take into consideration of potential leaking of knowledge of the SC decision on taxes. That I will watch for very carefully. So two points: 1. Do you have any concerns that if Trump steps down, there is an increased possibility of the WH remaining in Republican hands? Would their candidate be Pence whom I do not think could win, or would they come up with someone more electable. (Of course, the ones I think might be electable are usually not favorites among Repugs. Would Mitt Romney have another chance?)
2. You wrote: (4) Evidence that Trump has paid at least one woman to get an abortion (this would definitely cause the evangelical and pro-life people to turn on Trump, because they pride themselves on being "pro-life" and know that association with someone who paid to have an abortion preformed would kill their movement forever.) I've thought for a long time that there had to be at least one, otherwise, he'd be paying child support across the nation and he hates to pay money to others. For your amusement, this came out as a possibility a couple of years ago, so I posted the article on a Trumpite page and asked what he thought. I was insulted, called vulgar names, and asked to leave the country more than once. So, if it comes up again with more punch, I suspect they will go absolutely off the rails. While some are already showing Trump fatigue, some will call it a hoax and Sean and Tucker will comfort them with lies. I guess it would have to do with how much evidence becomes public.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write this. I'll be reading it a few more times for sure. Very much appreciate it. Sharon
I just wanted to jump back on for a second. I just finished an article by Tim Miller at a Rolling Stone. He interviewed 9 Rep political strategists working on active campaigns Re the affect of the orange one on their campaigns. Very interesting. I’m not good at posting links but it is easy to find.

Deutch Bank has been fined because of Epstein by NY financial regulators. Someone we know has a bank account there oh yes T.
New York state financial regulators slapped Deutsche Bank with a $150 million penalty for the bank's "significant compliance failures" in its dealings with late financier Jeffrey Epstein, the accused child sex trafficker.
Deutsche Bank failed to properly monitor Epstein's account activity, regulators said Tuesday, including processing hundreds of transactions totaling millions of dollars that should have prompted additional scrutiny.
The New York State Department of Financial Services said its penalty was the first enforcement action by a regulator against a financial institution for dealings with Epstein.
According to the department, the bank's failings included not scrutinizing payments to Epstein’s publicly alleged co-conspirators in sexually abusing young women; payments to Russian models; payments for women’s school tuition, hotel and rent expenses; direct payments to numerous women with Eastern European surnames (which were consistent with prior public allegations of wrongdoing); settlement payments totaling over $7 million, as well as dozens of payments to law firms totaling over $6 million for apparent legal expenses for Epstein and his co-conspirators.
There were also periodic suspicious cash withdrawals from Epstein's account that failed to prompt scrutiny — in total, more than $800,000 over approximately four years.
