@writerjenny I heard someone on MSNBC the other day suggest that sitting could actually work to her advantage. This person said her challenge is going to be to come across strong without sounding like a *itch. Being seated may soften her. And that it is a challenge strong women face. IDK but I have decided to imagine her at her absolute career best tonight .

@mas1581 It's perfectly possible that T was given orders to take the nuclear option, but it's simply true that this was inevitable. The best political minds and thousands of mental health professionals predicted it. A malignant narcissist with antisocial personality (sociopathy) inevitably worsens, becoming even more destructive later in life. Far more so when they're thwarted and their sources of narcissistic supply are drying up.
T may not yet be facing physical death, but everything he values—winning (at all costs), power, and total sycophantic adoration (even if attained by coercion)—is about to be taken from him. He fears this utterly.
Still, it was a foregone conclusion that he would unravel psychologically and rage/resist/destroy as they're carting him out.
As @writerjenny points out, Nero is the model here. Whether it's strategic or not, it's deeply rooted in the personality profile. But however bad it gets, however successfully he destroys vital infrastructure, I trust that we will transform for the better.

When I look within T. I see a a toddler who was abandoned, dismissed and not nurtured. I see his young self screaming when he doesn’t get his way. A part fearful of being a loser or ridiculed. I see a man using cruelty to feed his sense of aliveness and being the killer he was taught to be. I see a man who cannot empathize except in a manipulative way. I see a man who is beginning to doubt his instinct. He is a man desperate to get more not lose and willing to do anything. He underestimated the illnesses he has, they will make his usual navigations more difficult.
All beings deserve grace. I hold that grace for him should he accept it. Others who have been triggered or harmed by his policies and cruelty also have access to grace should they accept it.
