I live in California. The right is mad about the covid restrictions but I don't think he'll be recalled. I do agree his chances of reelection are dimmer than they could be, but he wouldn't be replaced by someone hugely conservative. We're not a conservative state. If he's polling badly, the CA Democratic Party would probably just run someone else. I wouldn't worry about it so much.
At the soul level, there is no such thing as evil. How can there be when All emanates from the One Source i.e. Love? Evil is a human concept, an attempt to rationalize the dualism of this very temporary world we find ourselves in, with no memory of our true selves. The soul is timeless and undying. Nothing that happens to this body, in this existence, does any harm to the soul, in the same way that nothing you do in a video game has any effect on your human body. When we leave this plane, we will see all the things that happened here as neither good nor bad, but merely as opportunities to express love, even in the most difficult circumstances, and as a result, achieve growth. While no soul plans to do harm to another while on this planet, many do choose to experience the most difficult circumstances in order to have the greatest opportunities for growth. When they "fail" to make the loving choices, as someone like DT has often done, they are bestowing on us a beautiful opportunity for our own growth. In future generations, I think we will come to acknowledge and appreciate that.
Rather, his ugliness of the soul has forced us to peer into the mirror and see our own remaining remnants of ugliness and darkness.
With the above I totally agree.
I also believe each soul must take responsibility for their own actions across time and lives. T had the opportunity to grow, even in such a horrendously harsh family, or ... not. He clearly chose not to grow.
I do not believe the Source sends us dark lessons through other souls or tragedy to “teach” us things. That we seem to learn through tragedy is, sadly, not a requirement, just a response—our response, not Spirit’s intention. I received the following many years ago.
Yes My Children, there is darkness. And yes, it seeks to destroy the Light. Ah, but Children of My Heart, the darkness is in truth nothing more than pieces of creation that reject the integration of self or have been rejected BY self. Darkness is but the DIS-integration and the denial of the Wholeness. It is the implosion of the creative force continuing to create while distending the parts of creation rather than coordinating and unifying them. Darkness is but the hurt of the severed creation screaming in the silence of exclusion. To heal the dark, one must integrate all singularities of oneself. I say unto you, the basis of integration is LOVE. ...
...We are all One, Children of My Heart. The battle against the dark is the battle to know Oneself and to Love each and every particle of that Self. This understanding resides within each and every one of you and will ignite the flame of your own comprehension in your own time, and through your own Love.
T, and those who fall into darkness with him, or who fall on their own, are in fact lessons for themselves only. How we react to them…that… is our own responsibility and our own Free Will.
Personally, I am not evolved enough to send love to T and his cohorts, but Spirit is and can, and so I ask Spirit to love T and co. I cannot do it, even a little—but Spirit will.
I am also nowhere near evolved enough to send love to the Orange One and/or his minions. I do send pity sometimes when I'm feeling magnanimous, but most of the time my only response is to roll my eyes at the idiots and move on knowing that they will not change unless they are forced to.
I admire your insight, but must respectfully disagree with it.
I agree that souls all start out as good, but I believe that somewhere along the way, some people, through a combination of bad experiences and through their own choices, actually lose the light that illuminates their inner being, and that their only goal is to spread further darkness and suffering.
I am an attorney to represents many criminal defendants. I also do a lot of juvenile law (I represent both children who come from abusive and neglectful homes or I represent parents whom have had their children taken away from them.) The vast majority of these people are just like us, beautiful souls who make decisions (good and bad) and who are, for the most part, driven by a desire to find happiness and purpose in their lives. Even the worst of the worst are human, driven by very human feelings.
But twice in my life, I have personally encountered people who have, for all intents and purposes, have lost the light within themselves. They still "feel" as we do. But their purpose in life is to break others and spread darkness. In these incidents, they no longer chose between good and bad.
I wish I could describe it to you. I wish I could say that there is a sign of something that automatically shows you the presence of evil. But it was many things. The lack of any emotion except when they are causing their victims pain. The way your own spirit automatically recoils and refuses to relax whenever that person is in your proximity, no matter how charming they are.
Both of these individuals are, in my personal opinion, too far gone. They have hardened their hearts through the cruelty done to them and their conscious choices to inflict cruelty to others.
In many ways, that is why I am having difficulty forgiving Trump and the other Republicans (McConnell, Graham, etc.) They are not beyond redemption, but the way they continue to employ lies and cruelty is a means of creating these very people I am talking about. Trump has so much. Yes, he had an abusive father, but he could have responded by using his wealth to make a difference. Instead, he used power and wealth to abuse others. Eventually, this behavior will cause someone to break so completely that they will become the very monsters I have seen. It might be one of the immigrant children who lost their parents at the border. It might be one of Trump's victims who has been harassed and broken so many times that he or she turns to violence.
It is important to be good to one another, least we cause death to another's soul. But under no circumstances can I ever send light to those who strive to use their power to bully others, as they are the ones who are partially responsible. To send them light is to help them in their endeavor, so I can't do it.
I have to concur that there are some souls that seem to be rooted in darkness rather than light. It's been incredibly rare, but when I read cards on Trump, I was horrified to see someone that was not only indifferent to the suffering of others but enjoyed it. His energy was actually so bad that it gave me a migraine. That's never happened before.
This is a fine iteration of the classic nature vs. nurture debate, and it brings to mind one of my biggest pet peeves in modern culture, the dumbing down of movies and their themes when transferring literature to film.
I'm thinking specifically of the sequels to Jurassic Park, in this instance. One of Crighton's big themes in Lost World was the importance of learned behavior and culture on the essence of how a creature goes through life.
He was working with fictional animals in a unique circumstance, but the implications for human existence are pretty straightforward -- parents impart a ton of information including practical as well as ethical information. And when that dynamic breaks down, well, those lessons still have to come from somewhere.
What's the end result of that kind of feral existence? Depends. It doesn't have to be psychoticly ugly and brutal, but it would be foolish not to see that it all too frequently is.
Chrighton's discussion of this problem was scrapped in favor of cool chase scenes and special effects, and life goes on. It is pretty clear from just looking around at various news stories, though, that a lot of folk would have benefited from a few more hugs when they were children.
Yes, including the Trump adult children who are, for the most part, just as repulsive as their father...but part of me does have a drop of compassion for them. Imagine growing up in such a materially-endowed (yet emotionally/morally-bankrupted/corrupted) environment? Such unified familial adoration for such superficial values and such mercurial, unimpeded bullying behavior by their father. I had higher hopes for Tiffany but she has turned out to be just like the rest.
Still, each had many choices all along the way. Most thinking adults do not reflexively and wholesale assume every single value/perspective handed down to them by their parents/family/social environment. If we have a brain and half a spine, we pick and choose: those perspectives/values worth keeping and those worth rejecting...and then finding our OWN meaningful path and values in life. There is something truly arrested and sad about the Trump kids: they are like desperate squawking clones of their father, utterly subservient to his raging narcissism, sinking to any low level of behavior in order to merit an absent-minded pat on the head by their psycho Dad....
Whatever light and beauty they may have had as children was knocked out once and for all long ago...
Since the election, I've been thinking that Trump will fall as quickly and as miserably as Senator Joe McCarthy crashed in 1954 after a four-year meteoric rise targeting and destroying liberal Americans who were suspected as communist sympathizers or were gay.
Like Trump, McCarthy knew how to work the press and prayed on people's fears. People from all walks of life were dragged before his packed Congressional committee for interrogation. Some of Hollywood's greatest artists, as well as professors, journalists, and politicians had their careers destroyed. There are numerous Hollywood films about this terrible period of history.
McCarthy was brought down by the revered journalist, Edward R. Morrow, who eviscerated him in news show. Also contributing to McCarthy's demise was the suicide of a beloved Senator (Lester Hunt) who McCarthy and the Republican Party had targeted because Hunt's son was gay.
In Trump's situation, his demise comes from the grass roots, from the election led by millions who voted him out. And then the rats began jumping the ship, the biggest of those rats was Mitch McConnell who has now signaled to the rest of the rats that they can jump. (Okay I just remembered this is a hit for me because I predicted back in 2017 that Trump would be brought down when the Republican rats started jumping ship).
McCarthy died from alcohol-addiction a few years after he fell from grace and was censured by the Senate. Wikipedia's depiction of McCarthy's final years sounds like Trump's future.
After his condemnation and censure, Joseph McCarthy continued to perform his duties for another two and a half years. His career as a major public figure, however, had been ruined. His colleagues in the Senate avoided him; his speeches on the Senate floor were delivered to a near-empty chamber or they were received with intentional and conspicuous displays of inattention.[145] The press that had once recorded his every public statement now ignored him, and outside speaking engagements dwindled almost to nothing.
But twice in my life, I have personally encountered people who have, for all intents and purposes, have lost the light within themselves. They still "feel" as we do. But their purpose in life is to break others and spread darkness. In these incidents, they no longer chose between good and bad.
Echoes of M. Scott Peck's People of the Lie, which I read many years ago, and which still resonates. As a psychiatrist, Peck described a very few people whom he ultimately thought of as evil, proposing that evil should be an actual psychiatric diagnosis. These individuals had extremely limited insight and were very resistant to any kind of help, exhibiting elements of both narciscism and antisocial personality disorder. I don't know why Peck's book(s) have not been brought up more in our attempts to understand Donald, but his insight seems to hit the nail on the head.
The similarities are numerous between the McCarthyism following and the Trumpism following, even down to geography. The start of Trumpism was heavily fueled by Reince Priebus and Scott Walker and the Foxconn con-all from Wisconsin, McCarthys home state.
By the way, Foxconn Wisconsin location cost taxpayers billions, was never fully built and has been abandoned after multiple changes in their plans for the project. This all after the government took people's generational homes and farms for the land to still be sitting there as just mounds of dirt.
How I wish that this will happen. That Trump and his underlings will fade into existence and be ignored, isolated, and basically kept from any sort of power again.
But I am not hopeful.
Even after an election where Biden won by over seven million votes and where he won by 306 electoral votes, we are still seeing the chaos that is over government. We now have over 310,000 dead, millions hospitalized, states nearing bankruptcy and may soon have to lay off essential workers (police, first responders, etc.)
And yet what is happening?
After challenging the election results in various recounts, lawsuits (all the way to the Supreme Court), and even after the electoral votes were certified, what is going on? Trump and his minions are now trying to overturn the election in Congress on January 6, 2021. Senators and Representatives have already said that they will support such a motion. Will it succeed? No. (Thank God for Pelosi). But this is what they are focused on?! When thousands are dying every day, they are focused on helping a monster who still sits on his hands and refuses to help with Covid-19?
And to top it off, the Republicans, through their network of voter suppression, looks like they will deliver Georgia to the Senate as well. If even one Republican maintains his or her seat, the Republicans in Congress will use it as an excuse to fight Biden every step of the way. Even if Democrats somehow pull a miracle, it will still be decades before we can get this country back to the shining city on the hill it used to be, because hopefully these same Republicans will be dead and gone, and a new generation of voters (having witnessed the callous way Republicans have ruled) will turn their back on them completely and regulate them to the minority status they so richly deserve.
My fear is that we may never get to that point. We are dying now, and are powerless to do anything about it.
Yes, I know that state and local governments will rise and help the people. But what about for people in my state (Tennessee), where Republicans reign supreme? Tennessee now has the highest amount of infections per capita than any of the other states. Our Governor is an idiot and a Trump supporter. How are we supposed to survive when people like him block votes in democratic areas of the State (Nashville, Memphis) so that we always vote Republican and end up starving our own people? He wouldn't even expand medicare because it is "Obamacare," and now thousands are dying, while those that live may never recover their lives pre-Covid because they owe thousands in medical bills.
I know you guys see light winning, but after decades of living under Republican control, I know that it is hopeless to assume that the government will start function once Trump is gone. Nothing except a massive die-off of Republican voters and an uprising of Democratic and Independent voters will change this.
@allyn Am interested in your view of this. Is it a way around the obstructionist?
https://gregolear.substack.com/p/whos-afraid-of-mitch-mcconnell
I wouldn’t count Georgia out yet @Allyn. Mitch has already publicly acknowledged that Perdue and Loeffler (or as I call her, “Insider Trading Barbie” - Just in time for the holiday season!) are getting hammered. I still feel like one seat is for sure and the other is still being shuffled, though interestingly that feeling has shifted from Ossof as the definitive to Warnock recently.
I think everything hinges on what is finalized from this incredibly lame, lame duck. Though we should count our blessings on one count - they’ve been so busy trying to keep the government from shutting down and getting a stimulus passed, they haven’t had time to do all the judicial appointments they were gleefully planning to do. Every time the talks start to sputter and the shutdown deadline looms, another Democratic angel gains their wings for the fight ahead :-)
I’ll add though, selfishly I’m really hoping for any sort of stimulus with direct payments. In 2007 a student gave me a jolly rancher that changed my life for the worse - it ripped off a filling which then led to a crown, which then led to a second crown, which then led to a root canal. Last week that tooth was finally pulled, and the two teeth around it were drilled down for a temporary bridge. And after break that temporary bridge becomes a permanent bridge. And even with two dental insurances, I got to hear those wonderful words “That’ll be $1500 please”
@allyn To send them light is to help them in their endeavor
No. I must disagree.
@Maggieci said it well. “The more we pray (in whatever form that takes) the more light will win. Our actions do make a difference in this "fight for the soul of our nation."
The Light will never aid any soul in its negativity. Ever. What the Light will do, much as the final Fairy Godmother in Sleeping Beauty does—transmute death to sleep—is to save goodness not add to darkness. Souls go through darkness, but the light is and always will light, which offers presence to the possibility of change—even when it takes eons. I do not diminish the horrendous damage T and his prisoners of delusion have created in this life now and I do agree T is one who has lost the light within. That said, when we are not evolved enough to send the dark ones Light ourselves, the Higher Power IS able to do exactly that.
I myself am completely unable to unconditionally love these folks but Immanuel (Jesus) Mother Mary, Kuan Yin, Buddha, Sanat Kumara, the Archangels, the Great MasterTeachers of Wisdom, all of them can and do take the Light we send to them and lovingly enfold the dark ones in Light thus allowing them to see again. Light illuminates and heals. It never aides the dark.
Affirmations work both ways. If you affirm a negative outcome that negative affirmation will aid the negative outcome. If you fear it, it’s yours. Therefore, if we acknowledge fear—and even when we don't really believe it we still affirm hope, the universe will he hope instead of fear and the outcome will evolve/transmute into a positive. Thoughts matter. By creating this forum Jeanne put into play a compounding of thoughts, which then became a vortex of Light empowering change. It works, truly, it does, Allyn, even when it seems so very slow. The dark is waning, the Light rising ever higher—now and always. ❤️ Truly.
My entertainment of the day was seeing that DT just named a branch of the military (Guardians) after a comic book(Guardians of the galaxy)
@yofisofi I worked with a Shaman for a couple of years. Hitler came up during a topic of forgiveness and Karma, and she said that he was indeed here to teach. She believed that thanking those that wrong us doesn't justify their actions it merely acknowledges the pain of their soul's journey and clears Karma for us both. It took 20 years for my head and heart to figure it out.
I'm no where near advanced spirituality where 45, the GOP and 75 million voters are concerned, but with time anything is possible.
I agree. I believe we choose to come here, we choose to experience, to play various roles. We do it to ourselves all the time. Some dark moment happens and we wake up, grow and then teach others. Light and dark (shadow), two sides of the same coin. I feel at our essence we are light but we come to this playground, called earth, to play, experience. If you don't believe death is the end, but a beginning to the next experience then forgiveness is much easier.
Don't get me wrong, I would like nothing more than for T to feel, experience what he has done to others. On the other hand, when I pray for him it raises my vibration and I feel lighter. T did not have a mother - she was sick and they were left alone to figure it all out. T learned how to gain "acceptance" and avoid shame - the father humiliated the older brother for following his heart. It's a sad tale. It's no excuse - it just is what it is.
Thank you, my sister in pessimism! I see you and appreciate the intelligence you bring to this conversation.
I agree that sending light to the individuals involved in what to me clearly presents as Evil only aids them, I feel like those that are truly evil to their core (e.g., Turtle McF*ckface) only take the light sent to them and feed on it like vampires. That being said, sending light to the situation in general and focusing the light on ALL the many, many victims of the evil and cruelty is a good idea.
I don't see the light side of things prevailing in my remaining lifetime. I think it will take 30-40 years to turn things around and I'm not entirely confident it will be doable. Humanity may be headed back to a dark age and may find itself greatly reduced, perhaps even to extinction levels.
And for our many members across the border in Canada - sorry but I have to ask why it is that your government has done nothing to help us? And I'm not referring to the pandemic - can't blame anyone for not wanting a bunch of infected americans crossing over. You all take in refugees from so many countries and give so many a fresh start, why do you make it so hard for Americans? Not all of us are gun toting religious fanatics with delusions of apocalypse!
