@lyndsayt Thank you for your thoughts and welcome! I remember some kind of prediction like that, and now I want to locate it. Last night, after I realized the invasion had really happened, and began to absorb it, I mentioned to my husband that this event might awaken people to the reality of Trump, Putin's puppet, and his minions. If it hit you in the same way, it must be dawning on journalists as well. So perhaps we'll see some articles soon that begin to examine the connection between this invasion and the American ultra Right.

Yes, it has started to happen with a post this morning by Conservative Max Boot.

mcconell looks super sad.
Russian money isn’t going into any right wing bank accounts all across Europe and the US.
@lyndsayt as a Southerner I am tickled that you have a permanent souvenir of your time spent here , the inclusion in your vocabulary of the word " y'all"😎
I do believe that undeniable proof of collusion betwixt Putin and his puppet will come to Light and permanently alter the landscape of the world as they awaken and realize just how close we came to utter destruction in this last gasp of old patriarchal pillage mentality.
@seeker4 I found this article quite interesting on that subject: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/mar/02/time-to-confront-trump-putin-network?fbclid=IwAR2yE9TvOMKJF3Kmj-QZL2Sih7meWx75bl5SODKWPcAhoFi1VDOoDsbwmF0
it is coming increasingly in to focus and will not be denied.
To add on your point, here is a good example of what you are talking about. You got Erik Prince(Betsy Devos's brother and the founder of blackwater) and Steve Bannon( who both were at some point in Trump's cabinet) supporting Russia's invasion. Trump himself supported it.

You got alot of republicans starting to distance themselves from trump, convenient, hopefully we can find out the financial ties that kept them together for the last 6 years before it's too late.
I have to say Jimmy Kimmel made excellent points here: https://youtu.be/z6Vo5uav9as
*trigger warning- excerpts showing TFG speaking and digging himself in a deeper hole.
@journeywithme2 sometimes you just need a little “y’all” :). I have many ties to the south, and love it deeply, but am also happy to be back in my home of Southern CA. I feel we are leading the country in a lot of ways and am hopeful more will follow in our footsteps.
The Guardian article you posted is interesting to me. This really might be the shocking event that wakes people up. The pieces do seem to be getting put together by more people.
I see that CNN polls say that Biden had a 78% approval rating on the SOTU address last night and seemed to have a decent amount of bipartisan applause. His speech was populist, unifying and strong. Hopefully seeing the strength and resolve of the Ukrainian people and our president showing us how we are more alike than we are different, we can start to mend the tribalism and come together.
(probably doesn’t hurt that the Russian bots don’t have access right now so there is a lot less misinformation being stirred up. One can only hope)
Bobert and MTG heckled Biden during the State of the Union.
