@ana It is hard not to peek! I find myself doing that all the time. I am on social media often posting things I find in nature, photos I take, following other artists I like, so I have not yet chosen to take a hiatus from it all. This week has definitely been a heavy, heavy week. And you are dealing with (and have been) so much more. I am glad to hear that your son is starting to feel better and that you both tested negative for COVID. Hoping you get some more time and space to rest and regroup.

I loved the part of the article that I put into the post above -- I find myself feeling guilty that I am not out there doing more re: any number of issues. But I have plenty on our own little family plate and so that has to be enough until a time when I feel like I can contribute or do more elsewhere.

Every time I see Clarissa Ward reporting from Afghanistan for CNN, I am amazed at her composer and brilliance.  She is already a peabody award winning journalist for her reporting of the Syrian Uprising.  She is so brave and such an inspiration.  She must be driving the Taliban insane. Sending her a lot of love, may she be protected and be able to keep reporting on this and all the other world news events n the future.

@lynnventura Jimmy Carter will always be my favorite President. We share birthdays and home state and he is the epitome of intelligence, wit, kindness and true love for his fellow humans. To me? He is the definition of humanitarian, as well as caring for our planet and close to his roots as a farmer...he truly knew the land.  https://learnodo-newtonic.com/jimmy-carter-accomplishments

@dannyboy there is an enormous negative pile-on surge with the most current of events.

I take low dose edibles for my anxiety and depression (legal in my state) - yesterday was an edible day.  I woke up today feeling much, much better but I can still feel it out there.  Definitely looking for some good news today!

@dannyboy  Send me some Dannyboy  - the death of my Aunt, another friend that died of cancer a month ago, her daughter committed suicide two nights ago ?  and all the media screaming about Afghanistan and being surrounded by Covidiots and the hospitals here full to overflowing.. and then?  I read this: https://apnews.com/article/elections-georgia-46c13960e11733e23b195e5aeca75d10?fbclid=IwAR209IUGSD6rot25p_Y8-PvAGiJo2O5wwZU4a1HJa5gRX5ERpOLWhnhMLdY

I think it may be a tequila night...seeing as how that relief you speak of is not legal here. ? ? I am definitely feeling helpless and hopeless and overwhelmed right now.

You know how you have the really heavy uneasy feeling that the caca is fixing to hit the fan?  yeah... the Energy feels super foreboding to me right now.... something is coming to head so to speak before all hell breaks loose around here.

@journeywithme2  I'm so with you. He's a national treasure. I remember his inauguration. Our teacher let us watch it on a tiny black and white TV. He was ahead of his time. He is a lightworker.

@theungamer  Thank you... Your kind words are a balm... yes.. they made me cry... but tears are different chemically. There are grief relief tears of the ugly cry.. which I have been doing.. and the healing tears.... as long as they go on so long your eyes swell up and your nose stops up and the snot runs... lol.. yes... release  grief ugly cry. These tears? are the gently slip down the cheek from the corner of the eye...the healing kind. So yeah, thank you.

That remedy is available by medical prescription in my state and I've got an appointment with a Dr. next week.  ?

@journeywithme2   I can definitely empathize with you on all that.  Tragic loss, COVID idiocy, and everything. We should give each other virtual hugs. ? ❤️

Everyone has different feelings about it.  My doctor tried to prescribe everything under the sun for me and as I read reactions, possible dependence, etc. I threw this one out to him and he said it was worth a shot.  I don't need much and I don't need it often but it's nice to have an option that's somewhat more natural than...say...Xanax...

@ana   Sending you a great BIG HUG virtually.. the kind that lasts long enough your whole body relaxes as the pain leaves you because someone has cared enough to comfort you. The rock side to side and pat the back kind, the sob together kind..the laugh together through the tears kind. Light and Love and Healing Energy sent kind.

@dannyboy It's actually very effective... I have taken the medical CBD/low THC variety that is legal here... it's very effective for my auto-immune Psoriatic Arthritis and UCTD and IBS-C . Doesn't give you anaphylactic shock like Celebrex and other NSAIDS can, effective too! As I am retired...and am not going anywhere physically during this time, all hunkered down again? I wouldn't mind something a bit stronger if it were legal. It has way less side effects, our bodies actually have cannabinoid receptors in them, and it was once a very well known and used medication - Big Pharma made sure it was made illegal so they could profit from their nostrums. That is why they have virtually eliminated Natural Desiccated Thyroid replacement.. which works so much better than the synthetic kind they have us all on now. Hashimoto's is not fun either. The stress of all of current events has me in a big flare-up right now... so... I am being very kind to myself actually. Also, Thank you Jeanne for the reminder about keeping doxycycline on hand because today? I found another deer tick latched on and started the regimen again. *sigh*

@journeywithme2 & @dannyboy have done this as well and it is effective.  Although some days just need to be about a bag of chips and a candy bar ... and then we breath. ? Hang in there.

An advocacy organization that provides legal aid to Afghans seeking to come to the United States filed formal petitions to the State Department on Wednesday, arguing that the U.S. government is legally obligated to ensure the safety of all Afghans applying for special immigrant visas and should evacuate everyone in that category.

The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) filed one claim on behalf of SIV holders broadly and several others on behalf of specific individuals. The group requested that the government provide all SIV applicants with open cases in Afghanistan with “protection or immediate removal.”

The Afghan Allies Protection Act, passed in 2009, requires the United States to make “reasonable effort[s]” to protect Afghans applying for special immigrant visas who face “imminent danger” — “or to immediately remove [them] from Afghanistan, if possible.”

I agree with all of you the energies are HEAVY right now. Very difficult to navigate.

Here is some news that might give you hope.

You may or may not be familiar with the "memer" Quentin Quarantino (he makes funny memes and posts them to instagram and began doing so on March 13, 2020).

Well when Rush Limbaugh died he immediately started a donation to Planned Parenthood in Rush's honor and ultimately raised 2M.

Now - he's once again using his following for good and started a GoFundMe to rescue trapped Afghans. He raised 2 million in FIVE HOURS. It's currently up to 5.5 M. He is coordinating with some major power players (see link below for more info) and is going to save THOUSANDS of lives.

It was never about those in charge - it's up to each individual to light the way forward. Hopefully that eases some of the 'heaviness' you have been feeling.

Details here: How a man with a meme account raised over $5 million to fund rescue missions in Afghanistan
