The future is inevitably progressive because the alternative is extinction.
Even the US military acknowledges that climate change will wreak havoc and destruction: “According to a new U.S. Army report, Americans could face a horrifically grim future from climate change involving blackouts, disease, thirst, starvation and war. The study found that the US military itself might also collapse. This could all happen over the next two decades, the report notes.” (This is of course ironic considering the commander-in-chief is a climate change denier.)
Only the truly progressive candidates, Bernie Sanders and to some extent Elizabeth Warren, along with AOC, embrace the kind of legislation needed to even address the issues. The Green New Deal is great but it’s going to take a Manhattan Project for Climate Change as well. The issues of a corrupt political system masquerading as democracy, income inequality and all the other issues we now face because of (Reagan’s) neoliberal policies can only be corrected by what we refer to today as progressive—or radical if you’re against them—policies.
But this is not about politics anymore. The political spectrum and the Overton Window are quaint relics of another age. And this is what makes the American system of government and the Constitution a dismal failure. What’s needed is a new kind of government whose purpose is to identify and solve problems not just distribute power among the wealthy in a way that provides checks and balances so no one rich guy or group attains power over the others.
Still even if a progressive president is elected—such as Zoron’s post that Sanders and Warren might lead the Democratic ticket—they still face Pelosi.
I recently saw this on Twitter, by Sahil Kapur: “Nancy Pelosi, who could still be Speaker in 2021, says the next president must abide by pay-as-you-go rules because “we cannot just keep increasing the debt.” This is a republican talking point Pelosi is using. And pay as you go only applies to social programs; the military budget is of course exempt.
Warren has however recently released a brilliant analysis, according to TYT, of how she would pay for her Med4All program. It's a good start but with both parties and most of the candidates controlled by big money, dark and otherwise, it's really hard to be optimistic...

I've been impressed with the accuracy of your predictions over the years and am very heartened you see this. I too felt similar w timing and T leaving, but always struggled w NP being sworn in. I just didn't see how the Rs would allow it. But if they are burned (and he seems vindictive enough to do that), I can see how that would happen.
Really looking forward to the 11/11 read the future to get more info. I heard from a British astrologer I follow that Mercury is crossing the face of the Sun on 11/11 and she specifically said this happens only 13 times in a century and we may get important "downloads of information" then (I guess bc it's Mercury).

I, too, have seen what Baba predicts at our last night in June 2019. I have always felt Nancy Pelosi will be intern president and the few times I have told friends they laugh and say that will never happen. Pence is guilty and Trump will never let him take over. It is dragging out because of all the obstruction and gaslighting etc.... by R's. Nancy Pelosi is a national treasure and hero, along with Adam Schiff. Let's all pray for their safety in these unsure times. I hope to make the 11/11 night reading ( my little granddaughters will be spending the night ) Thank you all for the support and positive vibrations-things are unraveling fast in our direction this time ! Pay as you go is still doable with a progressive's agenda. Repeal the tax scam, lower the amount of money we spend on "defense" to half of the almost trillion we spend now annually, and require that Medicare negotiate the price of prescription drugs. Maybe impose a half penny tax on all stock transfers above a certain amount. We can afford everything, and Pelosi knows it. I think she means more than just tightening our belts.

The Mueller report Is back in the news.
CNN sued the Justice Department for access to Mueller's witness interview notes, and this weekend's release marks the first publicly available behind-the-scenes look at Mueller's investigative work outside of court proceedings and the report itself. Per a judge's order, the Justice Department will continue to release new branches of the Mueller investigative notes monthly to CNN and Buzzfeed News, which also sued for them.
Trump attorneys have argued in court that the president enjoys certain legal immunity. But the vice president, the lawyers keep saying, does not.

@lenor, The last thing I'd heard is that Bolton won't testify voluntarily, but his lawyer stated that he would with a subpoena. I believe Thursday is strictly an invitation to testify, unless that has changed.
Lawrence O'Donnell said something interesting early last week. Bolton has a tell-all book coming out, and Lawrence is speculating that Bolton would prefer not to testify now, since it might interfere with his book sales.
