It was in our predictions that Trump would stifle free speech. Now they are formalizing their plans. The public comment period ends tomorrow (October 15).
This from the ACLU: "Now, the Trump administration proposes to dramatically limit the right to demonstrate near the White House and on the National Mall, including in ways that would violate court orders that have stood for decades. The proposal would close 80 percent of the White House sidewalk, put new limits on spontaneous demonstrations, and open the door to charging fees for protesting.
Fee requirements could make mass protests like Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic 1963 March on Washington and its “I have a dream” speech too expensive to happen.
The public has until October 15 to comment on the plans, and on Monday..."

Shades of Hitler's Third Reich tactics to seize absolute power.
What a scary reminder of absolute insanity! Will this be only a test to see how far Drumpf can go to obliterate our Constitution in the near future? Never doubt the dangerous paranoia that this man is immersed in.
Yes, this is very concerning. I pray that the American people will support the ACLU, and stand up for their rights.
This is especially concerning, not just because he's limiting free speech, but the timing of it all--right before elections. I believe most here know the Russians will be up to the kind of dirty tricks that tend to make people want to protest. I believe it's more than just Trump's way of trying to silence his critics but to silence the reaction of the people after our democracy is attacked. And something will definitely happen because you don't exactly need to be psychic to know what those GOP congresspeople were up to when they went to Russia on July 4 and ate poo on RT. If that wasn't enough, there's the way McConnell and Trump have repeatedly thumbed their noses at cybersecurity and securing our elections, even in spite of repeated code-red warnings from security professionals. When you add all of this up, it really stinks and it's a good cause for concern.
Trump isnt completely confident that the Dems will not get trhe house, or maybe even senate. If you listen to him lately, he is subtly distancing himself from the GOP in case they lose big.....so he can still be a winner, of course. If the GOP loses the house or both, I can see Trump siding with the "winners"/Dems to make himself feel good about winning the midterms. If he does that and throws GOP members under the bus to do it, he can be impeached or forced to resign. If he turns his back on Republicans, they will return the favor and no longer protect him. His new democratic "friends" will still want blood for the last 2 years and this could lead to his ultimate downfall, with or without Mueller's investigation(which supposedly has some more goodies to drop right after midterms).
