Thank you for stating that so clearly - the difference between intuition and magical thinking. That helps me when thinking of what happens on this site vs. other things.
Of course, it doesn't help my peace of mind that the most powerfully intuitive people pick up on cues and clues I never believe until it's too late. There's a real quandry for a convincible skeptic, that can only be resolved by meditation and nachos.
@billy-mike, that makes me so glad to read! To start a new phase of yourself when retired is a wonderful thing. So many do not know what to do then anymore. No I say! *live*! Life is not defined by work. ?
Blessings and wishing you many wonderful experiences on this new path.
@deetooa. Love your post, all of it. Especially how you view yourself as a lightworker. I relate. I am captivated by all of this, and humbled too. But you are special, Deetoo, just so you know. :)
Sadly, a second police officer, Officer Jeffrey Smith, a 12-year-veteran of the Metro Police Department, has killed himself in the aftermath of the attack on the Capitol.
The fallout on this horrible event continues to cause deep trauma.
This is interesting some of the so called “Patriots” that stormed the Capital to turn over the election never voted in the election they was trying to overturn
Dang!
The new videos shown today during the impeachment hearing are chilling.
I know many of you have chosen not to see the hearing and might not see these videos. To realize how close Romney was to walking into the mob and how he was saved by a running officer Goodman (the heroic officer from the staircase) who urgently redirected him in the other direction was powerful. Romney only realized how close he was to the insurrectionists after watching the video today. To see Schumer and his security detail walk down a hallway and disappear around a corner only to see them instantly RUN back around the corner and down the hallway was really chilling. So was the video of Vice-President Pence and family escaping.
The timeline of what Trump was doing and tweeting compared to what was going on at the Capitol was also powerful.
I have so much respect for the Capitol Police and Metro Police who fought for so many hours. These officers fought for their lives to save the Congress members. Imagine how they will fell if the Rep. Senators vote to support Trump.
I watched the video yesterday. Besides the violence in the video, two things really stood out to me. 1) The Republican party has made "law and order" one of their talking points. I don't see how they can claim to stand for law and order if they just ignore this. 2) Another of their talking points is that "Police Lives Matter." You can hear from the words of the insurrectionists that they had no respect for the lives of the police who were protecting the Capitol.
I realize that many of the MAGA cultists who were in the crowd aren't true Republicans, but I don't see how how Republican politicians could ignore all this without looking like hypocrites. That said, their hypocrisy is becoming more and more obvious as they rally against the Biden administration for things that the tRump administration did in the extreme. I feel that many of their talking points no longer carry any credibility, as it's obvious they don't really stand for the ideals and values they claim to hold dear.
I have been watching the entire time. All of it. I am appalled at the disrespect shown by Hawley, Rand and the others. Feet on desks, not watching, doodling. They are there as leaders supposedly our representatives that not only were there on that day but part of it!!! I think they should HAVE to watch it... to acknowledge the enormity of what they participated in and enabled and continue to support! To show a modicum of respect for the office they hold and the oath they took. I pray people remember the true horror of this day and vote to convict. I also pray that Georgia continues to press charges over those phone calls to Kemp and Raffensperger.
