@lovendures

Hi just for a comparison a normal letter here in Oz the stamp is $1.50Aud which is $1US. There is hardly any mail these days, everyone texts or emails. Costs are going up as they try to remain viable. Delivery days have been cut. Aust Post is surviving on package delivery from all the online shopping people now do which is why normal retail as in shops and shopping centres are failing.

The way the world works is changing, here, we are almost a cashless society, it’s just so convenient to tap and go with our cards for everything. Only 13% of transactions are in cash and still dropping. During Covid contactless really took off and the businesses wore the bank charges, now that is changing and each transaction has the bank fee added. Banks are disappearing, also ATMs. The same thing is probably happening in the US.

Regards

@matildagirl  I've had the same emergency cash in my wallet for the last year. I can see most industrialized countries moving away from cash altogether in the future in an effort to track payment and to protect from from street thievery.

@lovendures Thanks for the reminder!  I always buy the "different" stamps to add to my collection. I do send cards out to several people through the year.  Will need to check out the current selection.
