Last Sunday or Monday I was thinking about James Talarico and got the following: First I saw his name in big letters right up at the forefront of my mind. There was an upbeat energy surrounding his name and people were curious about him, wanting to learn more about what he stands for, and were generally well-disposed toward him. (I think I may have been picking up on the energy surrounding the CNN town hall he did a couple of days later.)
I got that there would be a not insignificant number of Texas voters who would only tune in to the elections around October 27 or 28. And that Latinos, especially Latino men, and, to a lesser extent, independents would be the deciding factors in the Texas senate race.
I also saw a close margin of victory for Talarico, in the 1.5-2 point range, but this didn't feel set in stone. The energy was a pale blue.
