I am also fearful of the Virginia race, even though I live in the deep red state of Tennessee. For people like me, Virginia is a symbol of hope. It is proof that the younger generation is rising up and taking control from their hate-filled, Trump loving generation that continues to make the rest of us live in abject poverty and inequality. Don't believe me? Did you know that in Tennessee, if an attorney takes on a case for an indigent client and asks for reimbursement by the state (a practice in all 50 states), Tennessee is 50th in the amount it reimburses its attorneys. That's right! 50th out of fifty states! Even West Virginia, who often is listed as one of our poorest states, at least pays attorneys for representing clients who are indigent more than we do! So you can imagine how my state is in terms of infrastructure, systems to help our most vunerable, healthcare, and education are in my area!
If Republicans win in Virginia, what does that say about the vision of how our country is slowly rising up back into the light and that we will eventually be lead by progressives who will serve the people and not the billionaires?
It seems that those of us on the forum who live in Virginia seem to suggest that outward enthusiasm is in favor of Republicans. While early voting seems to favor Democrats so far, the Republicans could try to overcome it on election day. I got so anxious that I checked the weather in hopes that the weather in Virginia would be cold and rainy on November 3, 2021 (hoping bad weather would cause Republicans to stay home, as they are not used to having their their right to vote under constant attack all the time and thus their resolve to stand in the rain and vote won't be as strong as ours.) Sadly, the weather will be partly cloudy and in the sixties for most of the state.
If the Republicans win....oh, I am so scared for what it means for the rest of us. It would mean that Trump could potentially win in 2024. And knowing him, he would get a list of everyone who voted against him and probably send us all to concentration camps. Think I am paranoid? After watching Republicans continue to intimidate and harass us for the last decade, (as well as strip away our rights over voting and even our bodies, while simultaneously letting their crazed followers more access to guns), I wouldn't put it past them or Trump to do this.
I am very, very scared right now. Trump is winning. The Democrats can't seem to pass anything, and Republicans continue to get away with acts of cruelty and greed whilst we suffer. It seems as though God (or karma, or the universe) does not care about bringing these people to justice and stopping them, if only to ensure that our children can live in a kinder and productive world. I continue to read the predictions on this forum to try to regain my optimism, but the image of a kinder, gentler world is becoming less and less a possibility every day that Trump and his allies continue to have free reign.
@allyn Your fears are well founded. We are dealing with fascism here and it appears that 30% of the voters are all in for that. One of the problems here is that those people lack the education or reasoning skills to see what the former guy and his supporters represent. And, no, I don’t think you’re delusional when you talk about the possibility of TFG and his fascists retaliating against political enemies. Honestly, that had been one of my deepest fears during TFG’s presidency. It seemed as though we were getting closer every week. The unidentified “police” who appeared in Portland, OR with no identifying insignia during the riots there were a glimpse of things to come if Biden didn’t win. However, we have a reprieve with Biden in the presidency.
This is a dangerous time and the stakes could not be higher. During RTF events, I saw the Democrats staying in power next year and increasing their majority. It seemed to fly in the face of conventional wisdom and it contradicted all the terrible things happening in our country daily. Yet that’s what many other seers picked up, too. I surely can’t explain that or the visions and predictions posted here. We always wonder if our own personal biases are influencing that. Sometimes when I post what I’ve received in meditation or in a vision, I’m afraid to post it because I can be wrong. However, something pushes me to go ahead and put it out there. I can’t explain it. Time and time again, Jeanne Mayell and seers on this site have had accurate intuitive insights and I’m in awe of that. And these insights give me hope still.
@bluebelle @allyn This letter to the editor in yesterday's Boston Globe jumped out at me by L.R. Neville
It's an outrage the Trump has escaped justice for his part in the Jan 6 Riot
What is wrong with this picture? There are countless people serving time in jail throughout this country for relatively minor offenses while the person who would destabilize our democracy is living in the lap of luxury. The United States spends billions annually to identify and protect us from clear and present danger but appears powerless to address the most egregious attack on our democracy since the Civil War.
Donald Trump incited an insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6 in order to prevent the certification of Joe Biden as the duly elected president. I, along with millions of others, witnessed this despicable act in real time on television. Meanwhile, Trump continues to spread the same lies and distrust about the legitimacy of the 2020 election while radicalizing an entire political party. My question is: Why has he not been arrested and charged with treason?
The letter says what we all say here. But it was good that they published it.
@allyn @bluebelle @jeanne-mayell
Lots of gloom, and yes, WTF is going on that these CRIMINALS seem to skate, no matter how outrageous the crimes??!! It is mystifying, infuriating and demoralizing. Yet, I'm not feeling the gloom. I am concerned, of course. Anyone with eyes in their head can see what's going on and it is terrifying.
For whatever it's worth, I lurk on some other site, and have since TFG came on the scene, and everyone sees the Dems keeping control of the gov't. What I'm reading and watching on other sites mirrors what's being predicted on this one. That keeps me calm.
Something I find interesting, and it may mean nothing, but here it is. I've been a news and politics junkie my entire adult life, mostly related to a constant underlying fear that republicans were going to wreck the country. So to make sure I didn't miss a thing, I inhaled news -- TV, cable, papers, websites, everything. I'd get anxious if I went too long without hearing the newest of the new. Yet, several weeks ago I stopped. Completely. It wasn't even hard. It just felt like something had ended. I check the headlines and read a few Twitter feeds, but otherwise I feel like things will sort themselves out, and the highs and lows that come with constant news absorption aren't healthy, productive or necessary. It'll be what it's going to be.
Maybe what I'm feeling is wishful thinking, but when I silence the noise I can feel the change coming. Maybe others feel it as well. I guess we'll know soon enough.
@lynnventura "Justice is coming." That's what I heard in meditation the other day. It has been so demoralizing just having to wait and wait and wait for the DOJ to do their thing. However, my gut feeling is that this is underway and we won't know all the targets and all the details until charges are brought. The DOJ has a big net they are drawing around the insurrectionists, organizers, members of Congress and TFG. I'd just as soon wait until the cases are airtight.
I'm a news junkie and have been for fifty years and now I limit myself to reading news online and a few minutes of news on TV. My nerves are better for it.
@bluebelle I've mentioned before that I'm an immigration lawyer, and I can tell you Garland has methodically reversed the worst of that past administration's shenanigans. He started within the first few weeks after he was confirmed. He and those around him know what they're doing. I can only imagine the same thing is happening in arenas where I don't have direct knowledge.
As for VA, I don't do predictions, but I feel good about McAuliffe. And even if he misses out, at least VA limits governors to one four year term at a time. The dems will bounce back.
The one thing I have to laugh at is when news pundits talk about how there are more signs and posters for the Republican candidate. I laugh at this because that means nothing. I don't idolize politicians to the point I put signs about on my car or on my lawn. In fact I deeply believe those signs look ugly, no matter what they say.
So yeah, just because an area has a lot of signs for trump or whatever trumpy-lookalike is running means nothing.
Those above that talked about news and inhaling it can I say I am in the same boat. So there was a period of time between late 2019 to early 2021 when I NEEDED to know the news. I NEEDED to see what was going on. Constantly. All the time. A few months ago that began to fade, to the point that I check twitter at least once a day but no more, and I rarely watch the news shows. Its like the deep worry that if I didn't know what was going on could lead me to trouble has faded.
Probably because I do not, on a soul deep level, feel that President Biden is going to suddenly declare war or bomb a country or something TFG would have done.
On the matters of Garland. One of the deep differences between this thankful for him being elected Administration and the previous idiot to polute the White House is that President Biden is smart enough to not just find but put those who know what they are doing in every position he can. Biden does not fire the gun till all the ducks are in a row. He makes sure the paperwork is done, the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. And the people - like Garland, like all the Secretaries, like all the people he hired - are the same.
This is a super good think for running the nation but a 'bad' thing for news pundits because it doesn't lead to gotcha moments.
All that said I will be glad when next week is done with because the two elections going on right now (VA and NJ - with the latter being my state and so my direct worry) will be over.
Oh. And there is also the good news about the Build Back Better Framework that might actually lead to some signing next week. Which will be marvelous and awesome. And exactly what we need.
With the BBB program signed into law the forces of the Democratic Party can turn their attention to voting rights legislation.
Re the VA Gubernatorial race: as I mentioned in an earlier post, I live in Northern Virginia. Although I always believed the McCullough/Youngkin race would be closer than the one we had 4 years ago with Governor Northam, I still had been feeling pretty calm about it. Like many of you I have been avoiding a lot of the news, but because I live here I can't totally avoid the warnings about how close this race now appears to be, which has created my growing concern about the outcome. But that concern has increasingly turned into panic as I became inundated with emails from various Democratic groups, including the DNC. Many of those emails are meant to scare the crap out of you. I don't need to read them; the "re" line says it all. I know that they need $$ to compete with the unlimited amount of money Youngkin has available to him. They also want to make sure everyone shows up to vote.
However, I realized those emails have been making me increasingly anxious, and I don't like being in that emotional space. It serves no useful purpose -- for me personally nor for any good, peaceful energy I could be sending out to those actively working on the front lines, towards the greater common good.
But ... when I quiet myself, I also feel what many of you have expressed. When I silence my noise -- and the noise of those around me, including those panicky emails -- I also believe that justice is coming. Soon.
@herukane, I do proudly display my McCullough sign on my lawn. He's an imperfect human being, as are all politicians. For me it's not a form of idolatry; it's just another, small way to use my voice.

I want to highlight this bit pertaining to the Saturn (and other planets!) retrograde regarding the Jan. 6 issue: https://www.jeannemayell.com/community/postid/45366/
Criminal investigations into the events of Jan. 6 will continue but go off the radar for several months. New information will appear but then seem to disappear as investigators clamp down the lids on their work to keep it from being compromised. While there will be some noises about possible indictments of officials and other prominent persons related to those events, it will seem that publicly there is little being done. There will actually be a lot happening, but it will be slower and more behind the scenes. Investigators and prosecutors will be working very diligently but quietly to nail down their cases very firmly and concretely before bringing them to the courts. Additional indictments and/or charges may be delayed as more new leads and connections are explored and fleshed out. The Orange One's legal woes will get much deeper with more charges being considered as his financial information is scrutinized. There's a lot to unpack in all of this, and it must be done carefully and thoroughly to ensure successful outcomes when charges are finally brought.
And this entire post, basically saying the same thing: https://www.jeannemayell.com/community/postid/46640/
Its important to remember that our government was not designed for a 24-hour news cycle. Government and justice - like their ruling planet, Saturn - both work slowly but methodically, and no good prosecutor (and I assume there are many in the Justice department) will tip their hand before indictments are brought. Patience is key. :-)
@tgraf66 This is great stuff. Thank you for reminding us about the retrograde issue and your previous post which is excellent. Gives us all more hope.
I am hopeful we have some resolution or progress prior to the ramp up for the 2022 midterms - I fear without it there's a possible timeline where some of our progressive steps forward are lost, though I'm still feeling zen about that.
More likely, without it, any investigation is dismissed as an attempt to swing the election one way or another. Here's hoping the big fish are on the hook by May/June of 2022. (Yes, I'm aware that we're technically already in the 2022 election cycle. God I hate that!)
It feels to me like we're in a timeline gray area. Like the median strip on a highway. It also feels very wobbly, like it could go either way, but I'm also feeling pretty zen about it.
@lynnventura Less of a "wobble" for me - if I had to put it into words it's my daughters learning to ride their bikes a few years back. Once they did it there was still the possibility that they'd fall and skin their knees but it was a lot less likely than it was when we were first teaching them.
If my zen leaves I'll let you all know but this forum is a beautiful treasure filled with talented seers reminding me that "my daughters know how to ride their bikes now." and that America is not likely to become a fascist state.
I've officially been away from work too long if these are my metaphors. ?
HEY Community! Since Virginia is close, and the outcome will impact the 2024 election, here is a place you can do some phone banking! They need people this weekend to tell the voters to get to the polls! Virginia is a low turnout state for state-only elections, so turnout is going to mean everything in this state. We want to keep their governor, and especially their legislature, blue.
Phone banks have times tonight, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday for any of you who are willing to help get out the vote from the comfort of you own computer.
You are calling Virginia democrats to get them to go and vote.

Virginia Democrats-VOTE VOTE VOTE, or Virginia can be the next Texas. And let's all thank the mainstream media for their constant IT'S OVER IN VIRGINIA, YOUNGKIN HAS WON narrative they're been pushing for the last two weeks.
I received an interesting email today. Katie Hobbs is a democrat running for AZ governor. She is currently the Secretary of State and has done a really good job. I am on her email list and today she posted a letter from Dr. Mary L. Trump who is fundraising for McAuliffe. Apparently donations for him are very low right now. So Hobbs is currently splitting donations she gets with McAuliffe.
There is so much I find interesting about all of that. First, Mary Trump is actively campaigning for Democrats and her letter is really strongly worded. I bet she never thought she would be in this type of position when she first wrote her book. Boy has she become an asset for Democratic candidates across the country. Second, Hobbs is splitting her fundraising with McAuliffe. That is most unusual but very smart. It is only for a few days and I am sure he will help her out for her election in 2022. One of the leading republican candidates Kari Lake is a former local Fox news anchor and is a huge Trump supporter. She is completely nuts. Hobbs will need all the help she can get when her election gets closer. It will be interesting if Mary Trump will also help Hobbs as well.
I hope everyone sees McAuliffe winning.
@polarberry I heard McAuliffe is low on funds. So I made a donation.
I did too!
I am really worried for all the progressive progress Virginia has made if that Twitler-mini-man wins, or steals, the election.
VOTE, Democrats, VOTE.
