If this is true, I can't tell you how angry this makes me. No, not that you're posting this, but that our f*ing oligarchy is asking people to sew a medical product because of their epic fails on everything. Is this 1918?? For crap's sake, it's 100+ years later!
Laura, I couldn't agree with you more! I almost had to go for a run after reading this just to blow off steam and lower my blood pressure! (and I haven't run in years, lol!)
If this is true, then what on the Goddess's green Earth is going on? Will we have to host a bake sale to raise funds for vital medical equipment?
Between this and the Apricot Menace going off on that reporter today I am, once again, needing to calm myself down!
But I will end on a happier note: here in Oregon spring is in full bloom! Flowers, birds and sunshine. I went for a walk and listened to some great music and it was fantastic - just what the doctor ordered! (and it stopped me from wanting to beat up an appliance, as one other poster so beautifully put it).
Governor Cuomo asked for medical mask and gowns to be made which in its self is sad. The great news is that many have heard him and are going to make the mask and gowns needed. Fashion designer, people of all walks and life that have sewing machines or owns companies are stepping up. Such beauty knowing that even though the federal government has abandoned us, people are hearing the call for help.
So very sorry to hear this one sad story on top of another. Hope they all get through their personally hard and sad times and challenges as well as the bigger one of the coronavirus!
But please you take real good care of yourself Elaine! Its sure not easy being older and having to face so many things at once is it?
Sending you a great big hug and thinking very best thoughts for Smokey Joe and your ex boss. So hard all the way around.
Big big hug ?
@stillnessnmind Welcome back to the forum and bless you for your service. I remember you from years back. On Wednesday night we did a group healing and we sent energy to all of you front line health workers. We will continue to do so every week.
Thank you so much Jeanne. I never really left. I’ve been quietly reading and absorbing the benefits of this site all along. Prior to the virus really taking hold of our collective awareness, I experienced a flood of intuitive experiences that were mostly about what my colleagues and I were about to encounter. It felt like it was also time to become more “overt” in my participation here.
This has been a rough news day for a lot of healthcare peeps. Yet, I just was made aware of something that could be good news from my part of the world.

Big blessings to all?
You and your fellow health care workers are the lights which burn bright during these dark times. Our world will owe you a debt which can not be repaid. I have the upmost respect for you and I send my love to you. Know that I will remember you throughout my day.
Your post is beautiful! Thank you for sharing and know that we will hold you in light and prayers as the world marches forward through this war.
We must all do our best to stay sheltered and safe so that we can help "flatten the curve". The curve is life.
Such heartbreaking news. It is very loving and kind of you to let Smokey stay in the trailer on your property. I hope he stays well. Please continue to look out for yourself. Prayers for both families.
@lovendures so grateful to this group for holding us up energetically. where I am, we are just barely at the beginning. Bless and thank you all?
Welcome and please know we have your back in as much as we are virtually able to. My feeling, based on both intuition and the Imperial College Report, is that IF we are successful at flattening the curve (and I think we'll have some success, but not total), restrictions will be lifted, people will get complacent, and this will re-surge in the Fall. If we're completely successful at flattening it, this will be a long, slow slog for the rest of this year.
@Katieinpdx
Good for you. Here in sunny San Diego it's been cold and dark for most of the past month, hoping the weather turns soon. Hubby and I are considering driving out to the desert and walking around away from everyone, just to have a change of scenery. Maybe we can pack a picnic...
