Absolutely beautiful and perfect! Nothing better than digging your toes into the green grass with the lovely earth below--and toasty warm sand at an ocean beach is just as lovely!

And breathing is essential. So many of us are unconsciously holding our breaths waiting for the other shoe to drop--and not for removing them for relaxation! ?

To share with any fox watchers you may still know. Side by side supercut of fox hosts a week ago and now exposing their hypocracy. Help their watchers wake up.

Oh my goodness that was superb! Now, if we could just share it and have "those who fail to see" really see and hear and understand that even Fox News reporters can change their minds as they begin to crack a bit and let the light shine in!

We talk about lockdown all over in the news, and how it is hard to be stuck, sometime alone, at home. And yes, it's hard. But what about homeless people ? Do you know what is done for them ?

I hope they are not forgotten

We have a huge amount of concern over our homeless population that has been seemingly unsolvable for a very, very long time. But now even more potential temporary care plans are attempting to be put into place in Oregon including hotel stay vouchers for food and housing.

Currently mobile showers, toilets and of course hand washing stations (in large mobile trailers) will hopefully be in place in key locations --providing of course that they are even available and if so as quickly as they can be procured. We only have a few here in Salem so far.

Unfortunately, a huge % of the homeless population are cognitively impaired due to alcoholism and drug use. We recently had a woman (who was part of sidewalk tent sleepers) give birth on a sidewalk.

Paramedics were immediately called and care set up by necessary medical and social systems to help her and provide a safe and secure environment for the baby. She was not seemingly aware of her situation. But at least others including shop owners and passerby acted quickly and appropriately.

Most of our single women with children have been and will continue to be Housed in special community supported housing.

The assumption for hotel housing is that hotels will have many rooms available because of cancellations in both business trips and travel of all kinds.

Many hotel owners  were resistant due to health and safety concerns for others  and not just the virus but other contagious conditions that might also be present or further created and have to be managed or dealt with later.

But it was essential now that separate temporary housing not otherwise available be immediately provided for both increased  pandemic precautions and prevention to the populace.

If they can even provide this at all major cities with large homeless populations with a greatly reduced work force is a major problem.

Obviously many, many factors will all contribute to most countries in the world not being able to meet even basic needs much less ideal ones.

Thank you Michele. What is done in Oregon is wonderful.

I don't think we have those mobile showers here.  Asking hostels is a good idea too.

Ugh. See my rant on the other thread and feel free to pile more on. I used to work in hospitals as an allied health professional. The problem right now is that healthcare workers tend to get punished for thinking and acting "outside the box", I know I did many times, and withstood humiliation for years before ditching that career altogether. So I imagine a nurse or PA may have had the thought - gee maybe we should test for COVID- but they were shot down before it went anywhere.  As long as your husband is not near the sick people, he will probably be ok. Tell him to wear gloves - work or nitrile - ALL the time, this will help. Tell him also to strip down and kick off shoes as soon as he comes in your home door (put a hamper there, and maybe hang a robe nearby-or not ? ), and then go shower immediately. Spray the shoes with some Lysol.

?BREAKING: #China says a flu drug approved in #Japan was effective in a study of 340 #coronavirus patients.

Lung X-rays showed improvements in ~91% of patients treated with #favipiravir, compared to 62% of those not treated with drug.

Yeah, he's been pretty good about coming in, undressing, and getting right in the shower. Actually we should have been doing that well before CV but there you go. Good idea on the Lysol, though -- that hadn't occurred to me. I'll do that tonight. Thanks!

oh, @laura-f -- this complements what you said in the Unraveling thread. The hospital in question is a catholic hospital. My husband reports that nearly every tv is turned to Fox News. (I can attest to this, as many of my doctors have offices there and I've been exposed to that crap many times.)

Anyway, according to my husband, most of them believe the media is exaggerating the CV threat and that it's no big deal. These are hospital workers!!!

Honestly, I have no words.
