@luminous

I totally think Mother Nature is having her say with some general karma in the mix.  I follow a Druid path and the ancient Celts believed that even nature would rise up against an unjust King.  We have so many unjust leader in the world today.

When I read your post, I was reminded of an old saying "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature."

@luminous

I had a dream that seemed to be about the pandemic and the future of humanity.  It was not a pleasant dream.  I woke up and I thought about it as I lay in bed and I was pretty sure what the message was.  The message was that humans can't mistreat animals anymore, because the energy we create when we abuse or mistreat animals is what is going to cause more diseases to occur until we raise our consciousness up to where we realize their inherent worth and no longer use/abuse them for our own selfish reasons.  Keeping animals in a dirty/unhealthy cage was shown in the dream, and the feeling was of suffering and animals too crowded together.  The energy was shown as mud...the animals trapped in cages and the cages were in mud and the animals were covered in mud and not able to help themselves or protect themselves.

I was also shown in the same dream that the viruses are breeding/mutating by interaction of different viruses together in one host.  The symbol my guides use for deadly pathogens is spiders.  I was shown spiders in the same dream--many different species of spiders in the same web/nest and they were intermingling and then one of the spiders was ready to release eggs.  I knew what this meant when I woke up--sometimes I wake up from a dream and I just know what it was trying to tell me--it is in fact a warning but I didn't know what to do with it and I didn't know why I was shown it...but that was the message given to me.  I knew it was saying that if humans keep mistreating animals, the viruses will keep coming in the future.  The part of me that is interested in science believes this also, as viruses and bacteria from the worst pandemics pass from animals to man.  Since humans have never before been exposed to the new virus from the animal they die or get much sicker than normal.  This has been playing out in human history over and over but antibiotics stopped a lot of the bacterial outbreaks and left viruses as the main pathogen that causes pandemics now.

@luminous,  excellent question.

@starpath, thanks for sharing your dream.  How interesting indeed and timely.

We can all start by making changes.  Do you know where your food comes from? How is it grown?  Is produce treated with pesticides?  If you eat meat, what are the conditions the animals are living in during their lifetime?  What is the dairy farm like?  How about the eggs.

If you make one change make it consciously.  Then yo can move on to the next.During the pandemic it was harder to navigate the food aisles.  It is easier now and more normal.  So ask questions, do research and make some commitments.

It is my belief that our actions have consequences, good and bad, and how we get, raise/grow, and eat or food sources impacts not only ourselves but our neighbors and communities.

Even purchasing seed to grow our gardens is important.  Monsanto/Bayer has bought up most of the seed companies and now has control over most seed.  Look for seed that is not part of their library.

Do your research and your part to the best of your ability.   Share your successes (and failures) with us here on the forum so  we can learn from you too.

Just my 2 cents and a reminder to myself that yes, even little old me can make a difference and the is key.  Each of us are key.

I asked a friend why did Spirit give me this message and she said that just the fact that I got the message is showing I've raised my consciousness and that with every human that raises their consciousness we collectively raise, until we reach that point where suddenly the majority of humans reach the same conclusion or understand the same message almost by magic...it is the people who read this forum and other spiritual seekers who will catalyze human consciousness into a higher realm.  It seems like that will take a while to happen perhaps, but I get the feeling it is inevitable.  One day almost all humans will be viewing all life as precious, not to be mistreated in any way on purpose.  It will happen.  Until then we do the best we can with what we can--because our intentions are good and that shows in the energy we put out.

@luminous welcome to this beautiful community and posing such a deep and relevant question. I often think about Mother Nature and I’m saddened when I see so much rubbish and so much dis-regard for her while traveling around the US and other countries. Humans have turned into extreme consumers and the waste that comes from consuming and the greed that’s extracted from her is un-deniably evil.  She’s named Mother Nature and I truly believe she opens her arms to allow us to enjoy her fruitful offerings but we haven’t been kind and instead we take and neglect our surroundings whether it be other humans, animals, trees, the ocean etc.  I feel like until we learn how to live as one, as a whole, there will be more unfortunate events whether it’s a pandemic or other natural disasters.  As a parent she will always be there to love us but even a mother sooner or later will stop producing milk; if you cause her to suffer enough she might just wither up and die.  Perhaps all of this has to happened for us to wake up and truly truly appreciate every bird that gives us those joyful songs, the water that gives us life, the food that keeps us strong and the sunshine that continues to give us hope. One day coming soon, we will all wake up to the shaking of Mother Earth and embrace each other as well as her other living children and say thank you with true awareness.

share the love and light

@starpath interesting...

TWIV episode about covid and bats and mice.

Different variants of coronaviruses in bats mix together, kind of like having virus babies.

Notre Dame students on Thursday censured their president, The President of Notre Dame is in trouble with his students and rightly so.

Notre Dame students on Thursday censured their president,  Fr. John Jenkins after appearing without a mask during the White House Rose Garden ceremony for Judge Amy Coney Barrett.  He later tested positive for Covid-19.

The Student Senate formally passed a resolution disapproving of his violations of university health policy, which stresses mask wearing and practicing social distancing.  Maybe he needs to be suspended for a while.  I am so very tired of people feeling that they are entitled, that the rules don't apply to them.

“There must be appropriate consequences for all actions in violation of University policy whether the perpetrator is a member of the student body, faculty, staff, or administration…” the resolution states.

Jenkins’ behavior has outraged some members of the Notre Dame community, with more than 200 students signing a petition calling for his resignation after he was seen without a mask and shaking hands with other unmasked attendees at the Sept. 26 ceremony for Barrett, a Notre Dame faculty member and alumna.

Broadway announced continued shutdown until May 30th, at least.  Devastating news.

“My heart breaks for everyone who works on Broadway or depends on it to make their living,” said Mary McColl, executive director for Actors’ Equity Association. “Today the Broadway League made the difficult but responsible decision to put the safety and health of their workers and audience first. This is a deeply painful time for everyone who depends on the arts for their livelihood.”

McColl continued: “We are at this moment because, seven months into the pandemic, our nation still lacks a coherent national strategy for masks and testing which could help bring the virus under control. Too many in the industry need help now as we face another six months without work. The ongoing lack of work in the arts means we face a critical need for a federal COBRA health insurance subsidies, renewed federal unemployment benefits and arts funding. Washington must act.”

An entire industry disappears for over a year  Honestly, I also don't know how the restaurants and small businesses that rely on theater traffic will continue to hold on. This industry employees so many people who work behind stage too.  NYC has a great deal of it's economy based on Broadway.  Add that to the fact that I just read that office rental space in NYC and San Fransisco is falling because working at home become more permanent.   There is no vacation travel now ...the foot traffic to Manhattan will continue to be down dramatically for some time.

I am sure this can be applied a decent extent  to other theatre heavy cities such at London, Los Angeles, Toronto, Washington and Chicago as well as all the marvelous smaller excellent theatre markets around the world.

My heart is heavy.

Covid fatigue is setting in.  After I put my 6 year old to bed at 8:30, I just had to lie in bed myself, and just take myself away from the neverending issues in this house.  I am an empath so the energy gets to me.  But tonight, I just had had enough.  And here I lie writing to all you wonderful people because I know you will understand.  I have just been so tired.  There, whiney rant done.
