@lovendures

Thank you for your support. I teach middle school, just two subjects. I can’t even imagine what the elementary teachers are going through with their littles. So many teachers also have to manage their own children at home while teaching their classes. It’s crazy. My kids are all grown, but my son who is 24 was staying with us when the pandemic hit, so he has been quarantined with us for seven months. He isn’t working because of Covid, but I’m glad he is here.

I’m grateful for all we have. So many are struggling much more. Sending healing love to anyone in need.

@saibh

You are so kind. Thank you for that sentiment.

My husband and I and my son all buckled down today and got quite a lot of cleaning done. The three of us had half-done this or that, and today we just plowed through. There is still more to be done. We will get there!

@jha as a social studies teacher I feel like I should have known all of this already -- but I can't keep up with the train-wreck anymore.  I don't know how high school Civics teachers can even lesson plan anymore.

Thank you for this.  It's what I suspected all along.  I think his stunt yesterday (the parade) may have caused any of the fence sitters (and seriously, how at this point can there be any undecided voters?) who may have felt sorry for him to turn tail and hightail it back to camp Biden.  Even Jill Biden tweeted that it was time to put the attack ads back up.

We'll continue to watch and wait I guess.  He's a loose cannon.  I can't even believe how medicated he must have been for someone to have taken his phone for the blissfully quiet 24 hour period of time before he started posting again last night.

@dannyboy, I think even people with all the time in the world would find it hard to keep up with everything going on in the world right now. It's one mess after another.

When I posted that comment last night, I hadn't seen the drive-by stunt. I've been watching a lot of the American news networks, so I was aware that people were growing tired of the disinformation being spread by the doctors and his own team. And people had already unraveled the edited video, the ten-minutes-apart photo ops and everything. That, to me, was another reason to post what I did. He's already eroding that sympathy and he hasn't even left the hospital.

When I saw that parade stunt, it was yet another reason to believe that the sympathy won't make it to the middle of October, let alone election day. He's playing squarely to his base with no real consideration for anybody else, which is obviously a horrible strategy.

As for the medication, I'm seeing many medical experts raising concerns about the President's use of Dexamethasone. I saw one say 'when I was on Dexamethasone, I was not fit to be President of my cat.' Now they're highlighting that a key side effect is delusions of grandeur. And, naturally, the President has just posted 18 manic caps-locked tweets in the space of an hour.

That sympathy wave is going to collapse in a week, if that.

@jha My wife (hates politics) last night after reading about the treatments he's on:  "How will we know if he's experiencing delusions of grandeur?"

God love her!

@jha After seeing the recent right-wing events in New York, I feel I am being dragged into a black hole. I felt there is no sympathy for Trump and will lead to his eventual and inevitable downfall.

@dannyboy. His whole life has been one big delusion of grandeur.

But seriously, this episode of his illness is the first time in this four years of bullying, chaos, and collusion against the U.S. with foreign entities, that I have seen how reckless he is with our national security.  I have believed from the beginning that he has given himself to the Kremlin, and I believe Kushner has shared classified information, and likely T as well, with some of this country's adversaries, like the Kremlin, the Chinese, and the Saudis.

But this is the first time I felt that a rogue force would have the ability to actually stage a coups and take over the largest arsenal of weapons on the planet.  Who is minding the country's security with this lawless, authoritarian one-man show in charge?  On every conceivable level, T's reign cannot end soon enough.

And given his illness, why haven't they activated the 25th amendment?  He's on heavy drugs, oxygen levels dropping, he's sick, and on top of his already well established mental illness, this country is not safe.

@jeanne-mayell It won't happen -- but it is PAST time to invoke the 25th, even if temporarily.  Unfortunately I just have this funny feeling that Pence is sitting on his own positive test result (Just a gut) and that would mean Nancy Pelosi.  It's the only thing my brain can reconcile to why they've worked this hard to "Weekend at Bernies" him.
