I am sure they are really tired of not being able to hang out together and just be kids. Especially during summer. It stinks. But they will learn important lessons too. You had excellent mom skills today. :D

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey's pleas for people to act responsibly seem almost laughable from a governor who just two days ago sat surrounded by 3,000 mostly maskless Trump supporters.
Well, that was both alarming and slightly embarrassing. Gov. Doug Ducey has finally figured out that Arizona is in deep trouble.
“COVID-19 is widespread in Arizona …” he said on Thursday. “It’s growing and it’s growing fast across all age groups and demographics.”
“The rate of the spread of this virus is unacceptable,” he said, “and it’s time for us to step up our actions and our personal responsibilities.”
“This virus,” he said, “is everywhere.”
As opposed to, say, Tuesday when … it wasn’t?
As opposed to, say, next Tuesday when … it won’t be?
So Florida had almost 9k positive in one day and Texas cases are rising. They now decided to close bars. They played with people’s lives for the love of Trump.
Cuomo response to all those stages that are now seeing a rise in numbers
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo criticized other state leaders’ response to the coronavirus pandemic Thursday, saying some states who rushed to reopen their economies were playing politics.
Cuomo, a Democrat, was asked by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota about comments made by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, who said the state’s quarantine on New Yorkers earlier this year “saved lives” and reduced the spread of the virus.
“I say to them all look at the numbers,” Cuomo said in response, referring to conservative states seeing a rise in Covid-19 cases. “You played politics with this virus, and you lost. You told the people of this state, you told the people of this country, the White House, ‘Don’t worry about it. Go about your business. This is all Democratic hyperbol
Now you see 27 states with the numbers going up. You see the death projections going up. You see the economy going down,” Cuomo said. “It was never politics. It was always science.”
The U.S. reported more new coronavirus cases on Wednesday than on any single day before, according to a tally by NBC News. As of Tuesday, cases are growing by 5% or more in 30 states across the country, including Florida, Arizona, Texas, Montana and Idaho, according to a CNBC analysis of Johns Hopkins University data. Coronavirus hospitalizations are on the rise as well.

We are absolutely a failed democracy at this point, on our way to being a failed state.
California is nipping at the heels of FL, TX and AZ. More new daily cases this week than ever, and not just due to increased testing.
I'm considering cancelling upcoming medical appointments again... I really have not been anywhere except home, doctor offices, pharmacy and grocery store since we moved into Phase 3 of reopening.
There's no enforcement of the statewide masking rule, bars and restaurants are jam packed, as are the parks and beaches... I can't even anymore...
@jessi1978 So now the people from those states are coming to the states this summer that have taken Covid seriously and gone through big shutdowns and are now coming back from it. They will simply reinfect everyone. There is no way to keep them out. I wish Mass, NY, and any other states that have worked hard to keep covid out will shut everything down for the rest of the summer so tourists will have nothing to come here for. But they won't do that.It makes me sick.
Thank you @Isabelle. We were relieved, to say the least - not just for us, but for everyone at the school. Unfortunately, remote schooling is not an option right now. It was an option for a few weeks only during the lockdown when the state had mandated that schools close, except for children of essential workers. Many teachers struggled with doing remote and face-to-face teaching at the same time. It is a lot of extra work, particularly for small schools. Once schools officially opened again, remote teaching was abandoned at our school. The only remote option at the moment is home schooling. Thankfully this is legal in our state, and I am considering it.
I think that quarantine fatigue is a very real thing. It is understandable even. Very few people wear masks here, and there is that same implication that we’re overreacting if we do. I am having to learn to do my own thing as best as I can. I am hoping that learning this will flow on to other areas of my life, lol. To me the case for continuing to be cautious is clear. In addition to the risk of stroke, there is unsettling news about the neurological effects the Coronavirus can have.

They are making people quarantine for 14 days but I don’t know how they will be able to enforce that. I will continue to quarantine myself and my family. Unfortunately in my town we have the ferry going to Fire Island and we get a lot of out of town people coming in via train for the ferry ride.
What gets me through this messy pandemic is believing I am surrounded by angels, by spirit, by God and by light. That since I am surrounded thusly and have tried my best to navigate through these times, I must give the rest up to God, to a higher source. I am not alone if I am walking with them. Whatever journey lies ahead, I am not alone and I am loved. This gives me some peace of mind when I start to stress out, it centers me.
I am learning some things too. I am making my voice be heard.
Earlier last week I made a FB post about the need to wear masks. A friend took some issue with me, about how it was not right to compare wearing a shirt and shoes to wearing a mask in public. I responded strongly that it was even more important and that we had a responsibility to save lives. That I knew way too many people who had gotten this virus, and one who nearly died.
And then my friend, James' wife, responded in my thread and thanked me and added: "thank you for taking the time to advocate of behalf of the vulnerable." I had not named her family, but her family was who I of course was thinking about.
So again I come back to the thoughts above. Do your best. Know that you are not alone. Never. Know that your are loved. Know the your words can make a difference.
@jeanne-mayell, it is nice to have these thoughts reinforced every week during class and meditations. They are becoming apart of me and for that I am grateful.
@lovendures, my sister-in-law and her husband live in Prescott. From what she's seen not that many people wear masks or practice social distancing. She finds their mayor pretty worthless as a governing official. She said that so far the Covid numbers in Prescott aren't bad, but the town is still planning to have art festivals and other group celebrations. She is also concerned because a lot of people from Phoenix come to Prescott during the summer to escape the heat.
In Virginia the case numbers had been going down but now they're at a plateau. The state is supposed to enter Phase 3 on July 1st. Among other things, social gatherings can be increased from 50 to 250 people; the assumption, of course, is that people will still social distance and wear masks! I think Gov. Northam is being overly optimistic (okay, let's call it what it is -- delusional!)

I'd rather see people walking around in their birthday suits, as long as they're wearing a mask and don't get too close!
