@tesseract I was reading Tesseract's statement/reading included with the most recent predictions (May 2026) and I was thinking it all sounded so nice that DJT would be out soon, but get anxious saying that I was conviced he would go so many times before but he hangs around like an cockroach infestation. They never trully die. That said though, ha anyone noticed how much more Vance is out there right no? He is dong a press breifing for Iran, not DJT. He is doing a lot more. Almost like he is being prepped to take over. DJT had not been standing a lot at all (hides behind desk sitting) and he could not avoid all the physical activity and standing and walking at the G7. I am knocking on wood when I say this but I trully do think he is on his way out. It is like Voldemort though. I cannot say his name fully or I jinx it and he comes back.  Anyone else notice how much JD is around now? And how limited DJT's outrage about the bad press is lately (muted relatively anyway). I don't think he is up and about or aware as much.

Has anyone any thoughts/feelings/instincts about the future of the Kennedy Center? I went down there for a protest last night and it was oh so very sad. There’s no programming planned after this Sunday and all of the security guards there  were afraid that they will lose their jobs. The ‘Curtain of Shame’ is fully up and looks to be a permanent installation. Our beautiful capital city looks like a battlefield these days. Can I have hope its beauty will be restored?

@brigidh First of all, Welcome to the forum, and also thank you for going down there and protesting.  I feel that the Kennedy Center will rise again after that man is gone. We all know why he has abandoned it and refuses to show its rightful name, as the courts ordered him to do.  But he is not forever. The Kennedy Center will rise again. There is so much light in those walls.  But it may take two years before it shines again.  I see a woman responsible for its revival.

Hello, @brigidh, and welcome to the Forum!

I totally agree with @jeanne-mayell about the Kennedy Center's future.  A few weeks ago my husband and I were driving from VA over the bridge that takes you into DC, where you can clearly see the Center's facade.  I remarked to my husband “the Kennedy Center website has already changed; I wonder if his name is still up there on the building?”  I let out an “Ugh!” when I saw it was still there.  I was immediately filled with a deep sense of peace and heard “let go and trust.”

I knew the name would be removed soon, but I also knew that he would do whatever he could to deflect from or obstruct the change.  (He’s all about ego and optics, as we know.)  So now we’re looking at the “Curtain of Shame” (love the name, @brigidh).  You may have already heard that last Wednesday U.S. District Judge Cooper ordered the center’s board of trustees to file updates about the tarp and the center’s plans for maintaining operations and arts programming after July 5, the date it had intended to close for two years of renovations.  This is the same judge who ruled that the Trump-aligned trustees had illegally voted to rename the center, precipitated by a lawsuit brought by ex-trustee Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio). The judge’s Order requires both parties in the lawsuit to submit a response within a week of the Center’s board meeting in mid-July.  The Center’s spokesperson is already stating that the tarps will remain up as crews address maintenance needs of the marble and soffit panels, so we already know there will be delaying tactics that the Board will be using in their report.

Delaying tactics aside, that curtain cannot hide -- as Jeanne so beautifully expressed -- “so much light in those walls.”  The light cannot and will not be denied.  The Kennedy Center will rise again.

@jeanne-mayell, I’m wondering if Rep. Beatty is the woman you are seeing?  I’ve heard her speak recently and she’s not giving up.  It’s her love for this Center and what it represents that motivates her.  Rep. Beatty is a force to be reckoned with.

I'm not familiar with her, so I tuned in. First of all, she does not suffer fools, and especially a self appointed king. Her view of him is that he is upside down.  She will keep the flame alive for the Kennedy Center, although I'm not she's the one who saves it. But when I asked who is was, I got the same answer -- a strong woman, the mature Venus, a matriarch, fierce, and loving of earth and humanity with the tiny but passionate sparrow and the love bird, the dove.

@deetoo, thank you for backing up my prediction about the Kennedy Center. You don't make a lot of predictions and when you do, they are pure gold. The Kennedy Center will rise again.

On my morning walk through the trees, I asked about our country and the midterms, specifically “will we be able to save our democracy?”  I had an immediate download: “You’re going to be okay.  There is every reason for continued hope.”
