Along with MTG’s recent apology for toxic politics, there’s a sense that some Republicans fear voters are fed up with both extreme rhetoric and the condoning of abuse. Even the hard-right may be forced to draw a line on the sexual exploitation of young girls because they can’t escape accountability.
Human nature often swings too far in one direction before snapping back—seen in markets, viral trends, and now in the Administration’s tolerance of abuse. If they hid it, they condoned it, and the public now knows DJT hid it. The same snap-back is happening with toxic politics, which have grown so unbearable that they’re starting to damage the electoral prospects of those who rely on them.
These predictions we made fit that new sentiment they may be picking up.
- There’s a renewed focus on empathy and compassion. People are healing from wounds they didn’t even realize they had. (DannyBoy)
- There are cracks in the extreme right, splintering between white nationalists, neo nazis, and more traditional conservatives. (Bluebelle)
- People are tired. They need to see forward motion with the government, administration consequences. There has been enough chaos and division. We need unity and cleansing! (CC21)
