T's ballroom is bad enough, but then he came up with Arch of Trump. We have all seen T with his beloved golden ballroom. It immediately brought to mind the many documentaries I've seen showing Hitler perusing the model of the city he planned to build after conquering the world. I see T's elaborate ballroom, and his Arch of Triumph (triumph over WHAT? our democracy??). So is tearing down the Capitol Dome next? to be replaced by a Furhrer-dome? His former wife, Ivanna, said he had a copy of Mein Kampf in his night stand for goodness sakes. That book laid out the plan for what T is doing. Many ppl are loathe to compare T to Hitler, but T is following H's plan for power & world domination, step by step.
@pamp Ever since this ballroom was announced I always felt that at some point a future incoming administration would have it dismantled. It would be the perfect metaphor for the dismantling and repudiation of MAGA.

@higgimic1020gmail-com As for an actual date or estimated length of time, I have no idea, but I will take a guess that it will last only as long as it takes for the economy to tank hard enough that they start losing a lot of money, which likely isn't going to be much longer. The holidays are going to be pretty lean this year in terms of business/corporate profits, and that's going to hit them harder than they think. They already know that unless they manage to consolidate electoral control in the next few months, they're going to lose massively next fall (they will anyway...even some of the hardest red districts are starting to rumble and crack, and that's going to get a lot worse if SNAP and the ACA aren't funded), which is why they're pushing so hard now. I expect we'll get a short reprieve either during or shortly after the holidays, because then we're going to be in mid-term election season, and the gloves are going to be off on the D side.

I have an international trip I have been planning for a few years that leaves on Jan 1 and I have a sense of dread that it will go on too long and I will lose thousands and thousands I put towards this trip. The air traffic controllers won't keep showing up without pay for that long. But this is not as bad as not eating or having basic necessities but still stressful. I really am sick of not being able to plan for any sort of a future due to the daily chaos.

Newsom got a near super majority, about 64-36, so it was definitely not "too close to call." But it did "end with yes."
I was feeling discouraged the day I got this prediction (early October) which is probably why at first I wrote down "too close to call" but then after a minute, I got "ends with a yes." I admit that earlier in the month when feeling people not liking Newsom, I didn't think it would pass. But I have always liked him.
So in the end, Newsom's popularity has skyrocketed. He is an American hero. And the money he's raised is so great that they are going to be able to help other states do the same thing. He did it even with so much opposition, including the iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger publicly saying it was a terrible idea. Now media are saying Newsom's plan brings hope for beating back authoritarianism.
@jeanne-mayell Absolutely agree 100% This is the first time I found a VERY long line to get in to vote. I was hopeful, and now checked for results and WooHOO!!! Musta been overwhelmingly YES on 50 or there would have been several days' delay to count all the mail-in ballots. Good news for NJ and VA too! Brings a wave of relief to see that ppl are finally paying attention and demanding a change in direction. Makes me more hopeful for the midterms. We shall see.
