Subject: Cloning a Woolly Mammoth

Probability: 40%

Expansion: Advances in cloning are coming. We are close to figuring out how to bring back extinct animals. The first one will be the woolly mammoth and I see it occurring within the next 5 years (though it will not be an actual mammoth, just a hybrid). We have the genomes figured out. We just need to do it. The only thing about the project is that it won't last. The mammoth will have to be contained in a man-made climate to survive (in my dream I visited the park and felt incredible sadness and awe at it's existence). It will never walk on earth as it did during its hay-day. Technically, it will be a genetically modified theme park monster, nothing more. But by cloning the mammoth, we will set the stage for the preservation of dying species and the possibility for further genetic manipulation.

I'd like to see cloning being used to make organs available and compatible to those who need them
