Democracy - Why It Will Prevail

Here is an uplifting and thoughtful article written by James Stravidis.  He is a retired four star  U.S. Navy Admiral and NATO's former Supreme Commander.   Hillary Clinton seriously considered him as a running mate (Jim wasn't interested).  He is now the Dean at the Fletcher School of International Relations at Tufts University.  

Jim also happens to be the man who told my husband that he should marry me thirty-two years ago when my husband served under him in the Navy.   Thirty-two years later, my husband still calls Jim the smartest and most trustworthy man he's ever met. :)   

It's an article worth reading if you want to understand what Jim calls the "deep forces" at work around the world, or if you're feeling overwhelmed (as I am) by recent events.    If Jim feels there is hope, all is not yet lost.
