Loved this. I grew up with german shepherds and my BFF has always had several in her pack.
They really do know who has their humans' best interests at heart and who is a threat.
And then another friend posted a classic meme, which I cannot find in postable form, so am re-typing here:
HOW MANY DOGS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB?
Border Collie: Just one. Then I’ll replace any wiring that’s not up to code.
Rottweiler: Make me!
Lab: Oh, me, me! Pleeease let me change the light bulb! Can I? Huh? Huh?
Dachshund: You know I can’t reach that stupid lamp!
Malamute: Let the Border Collie do it. You can feed me while he’s busy.
Jack Russell Terrier: I’ll just pop it in while I’m bouncing off the walls.
Greyhound: It isn’t moving. Who cares?
Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.
Boxer: Who needs light? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.
Pointer: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there!
Basset Hound: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we’ve got our whole lives ahead of us, and you’re inside worrying about a stupid burned-out bulb?
German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these humans from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and do one more perimeter check to make sure no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.
Rats! I missed National Ice Cream Day. But as far as I'm concerned, every day is a day to celebrate with ice cream: Haagen Dazs Double Belgian Chocolate Chip; Mint Chocolate Chip; French Vanilla or Butter Pecan with my homemade, very bittersweet hot fudge sauce, and homemade whipped cream.
Also fresh peach or key lime made by a local dairy farmer.
@deetoo fortunately there is a loophole for anyone who missed the date. July is national ice cream month. 🤣

Would love to have that hot fudge sauce recipe.
I've read that dog list joke dozens of times and it never gets old. So true and still makes me lol
Adding a few more....
Poodle: Seriously? Have the servants do it.
Great Pyrenees: Why isn't this light bulb with the others?
Afghan Hound: Oh look, a hard-boiled egg!
@laura-f, this is a continuation of our discussion under the "Covid 19" thread about restaurants with outdoor seating in the DC/Northern Virginia area:
My friends who live in Arlington recommend the following:
South Arlington: Ruthie's All Day
South Arlington (Shirlington area): Palette 22; Carlyle Grand (I'm pretty sure CG takes patio reservations)
North Arlington (Ballston area): Mejana; Liberty Tavern
You might want to call first to see how they handle outdoor seating.
I'm sure there are a number of restaurants with outdoor seating in DC, but I haven't dined in DC for a number of years.
Much appreciated, I will pass these along to hubby, along with Sweetwater Tavern, which I think we went to a Sweetwater on Route 7 a very long time ago... near Sterling...
@laura-f, I've been to the Sweetwater in Centerville, which I think also had a nice patio. The one in Merrifield might be a closer drive, since your husband will be in Fairfax.
The Carlyle Grand in Arlington that I mentioned is owned by the same people who own Sweetwater. Part of that Great American Restaurant group. I think their food is consistently good.
@deetoo What's good in the College Park, MD area? Going up there to visit the child this weekend.
This isn't a serious major complaint so I am posting it here.
Maybe someone has some clever ideas on how to deal with this (humor is welcome): Lately I'm getting all kinds of texts urging me to support GOP candidates and "stop Joe Biden" and I find them offensive. I've been blocking numbers but they just keep coming. Why me??? I've never supported them in my life. And I've had the same cell number for a long time. 🙄
@ana, I'm not familiar with what's around the College Park area, but I will ask around. Are you looking to eat outside?
