I read Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer earlier this month. OMG! i've never read any nature writing like that. Kimmerer (who is Potawatomi) weaves together botany, indigenous wisdom, and discussions of the ethics of motherhood. Moreover, her storytelling is extremely intimate. I had to keep reminding myself that I was reading something that's been read by millions of other people, since it felt like Kimmerer was sitting across a fireplace from me.

@jeanne-mayell I feel compelled to tag you since her discussions of the indigenous worldview and feminine energy seems like it would appeal to you.

I hope it is alright to post an ad although I didn't realize it was an ad until the very end. This clothing company seems to support the arts by hiring a variety of musicians and dancers to promote their products and despite the commercial purpose, I am delighted for artists get to work where they can.

I particularly like the beginning of this clip over the wheat fields because sometimes when I meditate, I imagine myself moving similarly in the air. (Being a dancer was an early life goal.)

That was so awesome to view!  What a fabulous mini film!  (It was barely an ad.  If only all ads were like that.)

Kimmerer has a chapter about helping salamanders migrate across a road. I remember you writing about going out at night to see migrating salamanders, so that chapter might especially appeal to you.

BREAKING!

a lost song by the beatles has been found:

  from The Guardian

A lost, never-before-heard psychedelic pop song featuring George Harrison and Ringo Starr has been unearthed in a Birmingham loft.

Radhe Shaam was written and produced by broadcaster and journalist Suresh Joshi in 1968 for a documentary film, East Meets West. The recording took place at Trident Studios in London, where Harrison and Starr were recording Hey Jude with the Beatles and offered to contribute guitar and drum work to the song.

Beginning with a pealing riff from Harrison and underpinned by a steady backbeat from Starr, the song features Hindi-language vocals by singer Aashish Khan, but gives plenty of space for both Beatles to add highly distinctive playing. Harrison delivers a long, searching and joyous guitar solo, while Starr adds his characteristic drum rolls and fills.

Joshi rediscovered the recording at his home during lockdown. “It was lost and found many times … suddenly the lockdown was a blessing in disguise,” he told BBC Merseyside, where the song received its first play.

Mr. Joshi said "the song revolves around the concept that we are all one."

@unk-p It's a clear Harrison guitar sound, and I LOVED it.  Did you hear the words uttered at the beginning? I'd love to know if that is a Beatle.  Couldn't tell.

Remembering this great event in Trump history is worth enjoying. Trust me, really. It's that event Guiliani held at the Four Seasons but this Tweeter reports it best.   https://twitter.com/assembledatoms/status/1457315901779316737?s=10

so i was sitting in the car, texting w a friend about how we both keep seeing the numbers 11:11.  And then i looked up at the clock.  I must have snapped the pic just at the moment the numbers were changing to 11:12, as you can plainly see both times at once.  I guess the whole "digital" thing is just a lie- or maybe the foundations of reality are becoming unmoored, lol.

Anyway, happy 11:11 day, everyone! (looking at you, @michele-b, wherever you are)

@unk-p

Greetings to sweet forever friend Unc P and all the rest of you that are so very dear to me here!  Dancing, singing, and spinning to unk's turntable of ever changing moments and memories of life in these crazy, spinning spiraling times!

I always have one foot in multiple dimensions at once much like you dear unk. I put on my audacious feather boas and my best and brightest glitter encrusted face mask and quarded by my two ever present spirit guides (one on each side like body guards) take the holy elevator up to the rooftop singing "up on the roof" at the top of my celestial pipes.

All you have to do is open your inner eyes, ears, nose, and mouth and you'll see me, hear me, smell and taste the pacific ocean breeze that catapults me across space and time in my spiral of consciousness right back here on one of my clandestine secret missions to check out the vibe of my tribe!

Every time I watch a music video on YouTube I see you/hear you/and most certainly connect with all of you roof top loungers and party goers as we dance our worries away to the beat of tribal drums, the clashing of intercellar cymbals and the magical ringing in of each and ever new day to keep on a going and try try again one foot in front of the other, but always united as one.

Sure things are incredibly challenging for many of us or/and for those we hold near and dear. Just hold on to your ruby slippers as we cyclone from deserts one day, to rain forests another, through the frozen time conglomerates of our aches and pains of living in this ever more bizarre world of life and all its lessons, learnings, and acceptances and understandings! Mask up, put on your capes of invincibility and power to the tribe my people!

Unc, dear dear unc, you captured the unimaginable split second changing of time!

I mean what are the odds? Two times in one!

Wowza you've got the Big Magic in you my friend! And the foundation of reality my friend is that there is none. No time, no space, no reality just this split second of capturing the magic of the now and forever dreamtime flow!!!

Hip-hip-hula-hoop-hurray!

Love you all!

@michele-b! Lovely to see you!

Unc, I have a phone full of 11:11 pics. My sister & I used to send them to each other all the time when we'd see them. I also get 1:11 & 4:44 all the time. Have for eons. I still capture them but miss having sis there to send them to.

I had a dream last spring where a sage told me my connection to Monica & the other side would grow stronger exponentially in the near future. I intuitively know that isn't meant to be until my father passes & I have dealt with that. I know this time is drawing near, so possibly in the new year I'll be joining in activities here.

In the mean time, I'm still dealing with puppy issues. Ricki is starting to come out of her shell a tad:

So wonderful to see your post Michele.  Only you can write in the beautiful way in which you do my friend.  It is always so joyful.

@unk-p

You always bring people together, such a gift.

@cindy

You dog must bring you such joy and much fun into your world.  I would say is is certainly coming out of his shell.  He found a wonderful mom.

Look forward to seeing ALL of you more often.  Always a gift.
