@michele-b, Chuck was the friend with the scissors up his nose. I recently Googled him; a lot less hair now (blame that on nature, not me!), same impish smile ... and he now actually wears a coat and tie, instead of those cut-off jeans with his butt hanging out. Chuck now heads a chemistry department at a major university.
Whenever Eddie and I got together, something wacky would often happen -- the kind of thing that would make you laugh so hard that you'd almost choke (or pee in your pants). The funny thing was, that day in the restaurant Eddie and I were trying so hard to pretend nothing had occurred and began conversing about god-knows-what, when that waiter pulled his "cool cat" routine -- at which point, Eddie started gesticulating with a partially-contained, crimson-faced laughter, and I had to rush off to the loo.
Hahahahaha! More Chuck, Eddie and Deetoo stories!
It's all about staying alive and making it to the loo on time! ?

Lateral violence is a real thing. It is when a coworker treats you with disrespect, meanness, verbal or other abuse. It can get the perpetrator fired. In the nursing world, it was first known as “eating your young”...the older or more powerful nurses undermining or abusing the new nurses.
But I was thinking maybe “lateral violence” applied in that restaurant incident you shared. Kind of a pun, kinda not. ?
Whoa! That's obviously terrible! Usually everything on this thread is light hearted fun to bring those that are down up to higher ground and better energies.
So sorry I had no idea you were talking about something real and awful! Deetoo's restaurant story was accidental without violence just also without empathy. And my stories were a play on words without my knowledge of modern slang phrasing.
Good thing our lounge is an imaginary place of love and kindness!
Blessings to you in abundance!

I hope it didn’t bring anyone down. Just educating. Pouring myself a nice glass of wine now and tapping my toes as the rooftop party continues!
Having my own little rooftop dance party to late 80s hip hop, pouring the virtual wine and handing out freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to the ethereal gathering. My firstborn is on his way home ... only half an hour left to wait! ... for the first time since the first week of August. Can't wait to love on him and have my whole family together for four days! Anyone up to do a little rump shaking with me while I wait? ;)
???

Chicken story
My mom absent mindedly seved me a chicken breast with such force it went careening off the plate and slid onto my lap.
When I reminded my mom of this she said, "I was very busy when you all were kids."
"Mom," I said, "That was last year!"
A roof top dance party sounds like fun! I amspending the day with my best friend. We have both been tested and are very careful. It will only be the two of us.
To all in our little commnity on here. I hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I am grateful to Jeanne and all of you for your support the last four years and look forward to sharing much light in the years to come.
