That was the first thing to make me laugh in days. I love that story and it was so heartwarming. My best friend is also a special education teacher so I understand how difficult zoom classes are. I'm so glad those special kids have you! ❤️ ?
Prayers for all of us here.. sorry I missed seeing about your daughter Jeanne - pray she is holding her own and improving! @Frank so glad to hear your mom is doing better and her was successful. AND everyone else here......feel so much gratitude and love for all of us here and muddling our way through...many thanks to each point of Light that we are.... hugs and much love to all as we continue to SHOW UP... and DO ... what we can.
My daughter is an elementary school music teacher. She has been teaching online now for 3 weeks. She really misses her students a lot. She is very good with technology and the district has shared some of her ideas for teaching online during the pandemic other music teachers to consider using.
One positive is that she is introducing many of her students to programs they can use to write fun music and songs. Kids that don't always enjoy music class are loving this part now. They are totally focused and engaged. Unfortunately this is a title one school and some families have only just been given computers by the school to go online and use for class. She has been only reaching about an 8th of her students. Hopefully more will be able to be reached now. While the district was working on a computer access plan, there were packets that were sent home to students for work.
I hope you can have many more good meeting with your students over the next few weeks. I know my daughter misses her students also.
I am the assistant band and drama director in a title one school as well! (And also a SPED teacher) It is unREAL how much more work we have now with remote learning. Establishing curriculum on Canvas and also providing packets for pick up (for those who have still not been assigned a computer or hot spot) has been a lot of work. Creating a learning platform for our SPED kids has been an entirely different ball game as well. However, I am so grateful we have zoom classes twice a week to check in and visit. These faces are why I teach!
My heart breaks for our seniors and all of the memories they wont experience during this time - but another silver lining to being such a small school with limited funding - we're CRAFTY. Our entire district staff held a parade on Monday, where we waved and honked and cried for THREE HOURS to every . single. neighborhood. in. our. valley. There were so many cardboard signs being held by our students...our mission was to tell THEM we missed them, but they matched our heart feels and made sure we felt the love too.
Mr. Rogers always said, "Look for helpers" - In this little town of mine, we are ALL the helpers. Young and old, no matter what, we find the silver lining and we remember to count our blessings.
For all of you that are feeling discouraged and scared --- Look for the helpers, look for the people finding the good too. Stick with people that hold this kind of energy. I know things are pretty terrible - My mom is STILL recovering from COVID-19. - But it's important to hold that positive energy for our loved ones as well. Banish the worry, hold the positive and surround your loved ones with that light. (And yourself) We will get through this. Evolution is a mighty mother effer. ;-) We will evolve and we will be stronger because of it. <3 <3
I love what you wrote. My daughter did a car parade with her fellow teachers at the end of March. The kids had been out of school about 2 weeks and LOVED it. So did the teachers. It is a beautiful way to connect.
I love that quote you wrote from Mr. Rodgers. I think of it often, especially in times like these.
We can all find the good if we look for it.
It is amazing how long it is taking people to recover from this virus, may your mom continue forward in her recovery.
Hello everyone,
I am requesting healing to be sent to my cousin, Rashmi. She lives in New Delhi, India, where there has been a very strict lockdown. She has had a fever for the past 10 days, but was unable to be admitted to any hospital as they were only taking COVID-19 patients. Today, they finally admitted her as her health situation kept getting worse. Please send her healing and love.
Thank you all.
Hello y'all I would like to ask if you will pray for my family and I this week. My fiance lost his job, the house we were getting fell through, and we have to be out of our apartment May 13th and as of right now have no where to go. I am trying to stay positive and hopeful but it has been very hard
