A tree died in our yard today.
It was leaning, it was leaning
And had blossoms
Bright red blossoms
Always trying for Life

It made me sad
To see those blossoms
Those bright red blossoms
Motherless now
Had been leaning, just leaning
New and already facing their last
Day

And remembering to be like a tree
Always leaning
Always leaning out for Life.

Easter Time
I moved into a new, new place
A safer place
And after a night of fitful sleep
I went walking
The sun, and everywhere flowers
Many kinds, different colors
I saw a bee among the leaves
and bent to take a closer look
Then heard the bells
The long Church bells
Were ringing, ringing, ringing, ringing
Got lost a while
But finally found my way back to
My brand-new home.
The people there who took me in
Sat drinking tea
Beside a golden gilded cage
With little birds
Who chirped and cheeped
I asked them why they thought the bells
Had gone and chimed and chimed so long?
They smiled and laughed and said,
"Because it's Easter Time"
Now every Easter I recall the sight
Of flowers
And the bee
But mostly I reflect upon
The Church bells that had
Set me free

I'm hoping this works. It's a Facebook video about talking to trees...literally. :-)

Christina Havrilla Ride

I'll take you for a ride
& I'll do all the driving
You forget about the path
You forget about the time
You forget about everything behind
& just ride

I'll take you for a spin
All you have to do is hop in
You forget about your hurt
You forget about your job
You forget about everything for now
& just ride
Just ride

You will not be free
Hanging on to things
That hold you back & hurt
That question all your worth
That make you feel afraid
Take these words from me
I've been there & seen
The good against the bad
The truth is sometimes sad
& life can be so crazed... so crazed

I'll take you for a ride
I'll do all the driving...

You will not be free
Hanging on to things
That hold you back & hurt
That question all your worth
That make you feel afraid
Take these words from me
I've been there & seen
The good against the bad
The truth is sometimes sad
& life can be so crazed... so crazed

I'll take you for a ride
I'll do all the driving

I recorded a cover of this song today on my ghandigirl7566 YouTube channel .

It made me feel a tiny bit better.

This made me tear up a bit. It fits right in with and expresses part of the grief I've been experiencing about our nation.

Incubus "The Warmth" ca 1999

Chorus:

So don't let the world bring you down
Not everyone here is that f---d up and cold
Remember why you came and while you're alive
Experience the warmth before you grow old
