The Carolina Wrens nested in our barn again this year. They are chubby little puffs smaller than your fist, with a booming voice that dominates the forest. Yesterday the fledgings were all over the barn floor learning to fly. It was chaos with parents calling out instructions and warnings to their clueless little ones. We left the doors open all day so they could get out. Finally at dusk the last baby made it to a perch close to the door, and facing the sky, looked out at the great beyond. Here it is one minute before final exit out into the world.
@ghandigirl She looks like a calico? Is she? I am slightly biased towards calicos ‘cis our previous cat Kealani was one and we loved her to bits. Sounds as if she’s settling down now.
Your sweet photo brought tears to my eyes, Jeanne ... today is a day for remembering new life as well!
Thank you for this ?
@ghandigirl you might consult a homeopathic vet for her allergies. She's beautiful.
There is a product called Feliway - it is pheromones dispersed with a diffuser . There are several brands out there - you can research and choose. I use the Feliway Multi-cat. I have 3 cats and often in my work brought home fosters. I have a now 13 year old cat that was a feral kitten rescued at 3 weeks. Born in a salvage bin ...her feral mother was run over in the road - she was the sole surviving kitten. She was bottle raised by me. She has always had behavioral issues from that - I jokingly refer to her as my rapid cycling bi-polar cat. She gets upset with changes and does not always play well with others. The Feliway helps her find her balance and reduces her aggression and her pooping in the floor to "voice" her displeasure. You might consider adding it - it is always especially useful when bringing new family members in or housing fosters for a period of time. Stress exacerbates allergies and can often increase self-excoriation by over Hypo-allergenic food formula grooming and fur plucking. You might consider hypo-allergenic food formulas as well.
Yes, Lollipop came with special food and medicinal powder.
I have heard of the Feliway. Thanks for the reminder.
