I've found that Saturn has had a greater impact on me when it's transited my Sun, Moon, or one of the angles in my chart, more than the Saturn Return itself.

As another astrologer whom I follow says, Saturn loves a plan. If you get a plan in place, especially for those things that seem most daunting, and execute it, Saturn will reward you with real achievement. Of course, it may feel like the emotional equivalent of being hauled out of bed at 5:00 am to train for a marathon, but invariably after I've finished a difficult Saturn aspect, I'll look back and feel good, at a deeper level, about the progress I've made.

My natal Saturn is in the third house, 6 degrees off the IC.  Not a close conjunction but still..    I think Saturn is always with me in that way.

This is a great description, IMO!

I am reading this recent thread about Saturn return and learning some stuff.  Sadly, I tend to read astrology websites to determine where the planets are in the sky so I can get out my trusty telescope and find them (try finding out their locations on an astronomy website, it is so difficult to figure out what quadrant and degrees mean, whereas astrology websites list planets near constellations, which is easier for me to locate).  Therefore, planets' underlying meanings in astrology tend to get kicked to the wayside as I eagerly search the cosmos for a glimpse of Mars or Venus (and am usually prevented by cloudy skies.  LOL!)  All I know is I am a Leo, I am ruled by the sun, etc.

But while everyone is talking about Saturn return, I want to know if anyone can explain the Pluto return, which is supposed to occur in February 2022.  From what I understand, people don't get Pluto returns (unless they live past 248 years.)  But countries do, and apparently Pluto will return to its exact point in the sky that it was located on July 4, 1776, which makes February 2022 the USA's Pluto return.  Some of the websites are contradictory, but they seem to suggest that Pluto brings darkness with it.  Countries that recognize the darkness and try to make amends will survive, while countries who deny the darkness will eventually fall.  So, if I am right, Pluto is a planet of "transform or die" vibe to it.  (sorry for summarizing.  I don't pay much attention to Pluto because I can't see it with my telescope, so while I know quite a bit about the lore for Mercury-Saturn, the other planets and their supposed meanings are lost to me.)

So....can anyone explain the Pluto return better and what it might mean?  Some people say that it will transform our economy (something about Pluto being in Capricorn?).  Or it may mean the topple of institutions that have been in power for so long (if so, PLEASE let it be about Trump and the Republicans' current brand of intimidation and violence against the rest of us.)  But I am curious if someone can give me their opinion, as I trust you guys more that I do these random websites.  Again, this is curiosity only, but I would like to know, especially as Pluto return is supposed to be exact somewhere between 2/19/22 and 2/22/22 (too many twos, don't you think?)

@allyn

See the article gbs linked in the previous page, it's a very good primer. This whole conversation started because I asked the same question as you about the Pluto return.

Speaking of Saturn returns, I think most people here have been through at least one, and it might be interesting to compare experiences.    To all:  Did you go through any significant changes at about age 29? Or not?

When I was a few months shy of 29, I was suddenly offered a job that I wasn't expecting and wasn't entirely ready for.  I moved halfway across the country and away from my BF ? .  It was quite an upheaval.

I got married at three days past my 28.5 half birthday.

Like @2ndfdl, I also got married about the time of my Saturn return -- 28 years and 3 months ?

I went back to my Facebook page and pulled up 2009 (because as an almost 43 year old, the memory isn't what it used to be!) 2009 is the year my wife and I started trying and ended up getting referred to a fertility specialist to undergo IVF.  I was just north of 29 when the second treatment we went through worked.  It was also then that I was called in while on paternity leave by my principal to talk about my schedule for the next year and saw I had 7 baloney classes which pushed me to hunt for a new job (which I then got)

Essentially, my answer to your query is "oooh oooh!  me me!  over here!"

I moved to NYC when I was 29. Almost everything good in my life followed from that move.

@lynnventura When you say 29, my guides tell me that in my career, I will be dressed up as a samurai for Halloween with navi symbols as my mon crests while I accompany two of my coworker's children cosplaying as the franchise characters trick-or-treating when I turn 29.
