If needed, you can also get to the last page by manually typing in the last page number. You should be able to access any page isn a thread by doing this.  I have been doing this over the past few days and hit works

Jeanne, thank you for increasing the recent posts and recent topics shown on the right.  That will be helpful.

@journeywithme2 One way to get notified of new posts is to go to your account by clicking on your name and below your name it will say

<Profile> <Account> <Activity> <Subscriptions>

Click <subscriptions> and then check the button that says ALL. You are unlikely to get too many emails but if you do, then just go back and uncheck ALL and pick what you want to subscribe to.  But remember that the community talks to each other outside of the boundaries of specific threads. People get going and just write. So you'll miss things if you don't click ALL.

Okay, Confession: I noticed people were not getting notified when new posts appeared, including myself and some long time members and the moderators.  So I went through the user list and when I recognized a name of someone who was an active poster, I checked a box and subscribed them, not without some guilt and trepidation.  Now if you are someone who doesn't want to receive copies of new posts, let me know and I will unsubscribe you or you can go into your account and do that yourself. Apologies for any annoyance this may have caused. I never want to annoy someone with emails of new posts but I was hoping it would correct a recent glitch.

@tgraf66 This situation is karmic for me.  I am the first person to yell when some company I've visited online starts sending me emails. I will immediately unsubscribe and when they won't let me unsubscribe, I've even tracked down the CEO at his home. And he will promise to delete my email from his list. You should hear the surprise in their voices when they pick up at home and say, "Hello?" and it's me telling them how I couldn't get off their list that I never subscribed to in the first place. They are nice, in a deer-in-the-headlights sort of way. We part friends and I learn that these CEO's can be nice folks if you meet then outside of business.

So it was with wariness that I subscribed people.  The first thing that happened is I got a grateful email from someone who had never been able to get her account to work.  She was thrilled that the site reached out to her. Then I got a worried email from baba who thought maybe a hack had occurred. It had been unnerving to suddenly receive 16 emails from this forum. I hadn't considered that people would get sixteen emails all at once. ?

Then we heard from @opal who hadn't posted in an age.  She didn't mention the emails, but she gave us the most glorious update on her life.  And it's now in our hall of fame.

But I would imagine there are some annoyed people too out there. I hope they can understand they can easily and successfully unsubscribe.

The good, the bad, the guilt.

@jeanne-mayell, yes, unsubscribing is pretty easy.  If you go to the very bottom of the email, you can unsubscribe to that particular thread.   If you don’t want any subscription emails, go to “My Profile,” “Subscriptions” and then uncheck the box.

Jeanne, I am really laughing at your story about calling the CEO at home.  You are a force to be reckoned with!  ?

@jeanne-mayell Good morning! I attempted to follow these directions but am not seeing the Subscriptions box. Will you please unsubscribe me?
And thank you for the helpful hints to see more newer posts.

@dannyboy Same! I had been away from the forum for a while and with the reorg it has taken some time to find my usual cues for picking up new stories, etc. That also means I haven't been following updates as closely as before, so I tend to miss things as well. Yes, a little duplication is alright. I had noticed the headline about the moon "wobble" in today's news as other media outlets are picking up on it over the last few days.
