I tuned into the GA election. @tgraf, you can open your eyes.

I got first this:  I heard, Whoooooop! which is some intense, concentrated glee coming from the blue side.  Good sign for blues.

Then I threw cards in all kinds of ways: How will Ossoff/Warnock/Loeffler/Perdue feel this Wednesday? This Saturday? Mixed answers, but mostly that Ossoff is happy, Perdue is, as his name implies, lost.  (French for "lost" is Perdu).

The Warnock/Loeffler race was harder to call. She acts confident, certain she's got this.  He's been beaten down. He is a deep, empathic soul who feels the suffering of his people. She is a perky machine. So I couldn't tell the outcome for him due to these feelings.

So I switched to checking out McConnell and zoomed to February.  McConnell's feelings will tell me what has happened to the balance of the Senate. I got a strong negative card for McConnell that he will be done.  It felt like he will be leaving. He will be home with his wife and and leaning on her for strength.

So it is looking good right now for the dems, although I feel Warnock's vulnerability. I want to send both of them energy tomorrow night when we meet for our Circle of Light.

@jeanne-mayell  If Democrats manage to win Senate control, I think that a series of constitutional amendments is in order to protect our democracy against future attacks.  We should make it illegal for anyone to seek the presidency if they don't release at least 5 years of tax returns. If they can't release any of this information you know they have something to hide. We should impose restrictions on the president's power to grant pardons as we saw extremely blatant abuses of this power under Donald Trump. We also need an amendment to force all 50 states to use non-partisan commissions for the purpose of deciding how many and where to place polling locations, setting all the rules on who is or is not qualified to vote, setting all rules on when and how people vote, and drawing all congressional and legislative districts. Over the years we have seen blatant manipulation of all these processes for partisan advantage.

I hope to see some sort of addressing untreated severe personality disorders in those who seek to serve in Congress.

I have to admit I am afraid. When Trump made that crazy call and said that it would be costly not to do his bidding, I felt it was a wink and a nod to his army, inciting bloodshed. I finally understand what it means when someone said, their blood ran cold.

I pray I am wrong. I am fearful for Georgians safety this week. If I can't come to the meditation with you all, I will be setting an intention to send all I can to Georgia, my light, hope, love, and ask angels to protect them.

@5leafclover I would support at least some of your proposals, but amendments require 2/3 majority in both houses, and then ratification by 3/4 of the state legislatures.  A better option for now would be to expand the SCOTUS to 13, and expand the number of federal courts overall by at least 25%, both of which could be done through the standard legislative process with simple majority votes in Congress and no involvement of the states.

I feel McConnell will be leaving.

If this does come to pass, that might explain why I've been getting the feeling that the Georgia runoff is immaterial from the perspective of the other side.  As long as at least one of the races go to the D's (though I personally expect them both to go that way), the other one won't matter as much because MM will be leaving to be replaced by the D governor of Kentucky. This is important because MM was just re-elected to a full term, meaning that whoever is appointed will have a full 6 year term of service before facing re-election.

@allyn

Weighing in, in my usual role as anxious pessimist.

I agree with everything you said above 100%.

I have the same sentiments and questions, but when I try to reflect or meditate on any of it, I don't get many signs of hope.

I think Jan 5 we will see one clear win (Warnock) and one muddy loss (Osoff). I think the racist voters tend also to be anti-semitic, and Osoff is Jewish, so they may override their own doubts about this election just to make sure another Jewish person does not govern them.

As for the GOP - meet me over on the Great Turning thread...

I have to giggle a little here, not at you or your vision, but because literally seven posts above yours, @jeanne-mayell said the exact opposite in regard to who wins/loses.  On the other hand, as long as one of you is right, I don't care who it is.  I do worry a bit about Osoff's chances after the blatant lie about Loeffler campaigning with a klansman (the guy was just getting his picture taken with her, not campaigning with her), but again, as long as one of them wins, I don't much care which it is.

@ghandigirl. He is going to be gone soon.

I know how frightening the man can be. But he is leaving. I still see in my mind my final tarot card for the last week of January thrown in July 2020 that I've posted a few places here, a card for each week, and they have all come true so far.  A few weeks of that six month reading are remaining and they end with him leaving. I know I can be wrong, but it's lining up the way I've seen it.  So I'm not so worried.

But I understand how you feel, how frightening it can be. When I read that transcript, I saw first hand how sick and dangerous  he is. I've been reading Mary Trump's biography of him and how he came to be a sociopath and a pathological liar like his father.

Every awful observation people have made of him over the past four years comes out in that transcript. His behavior is con artist, thug, crime boss.  When Raffensberger makes it clear over and over again, patiently, painstakingly going through the investigations the state did, showing there is no evidence of the fraud Trump is claiming, Trump tries to frighten him, even threaten him:

"I don’t know, look, Brad. I got to get . . . I have to find 12,000 votes... I watched you this morning, and you said, well, there was no criminality. But I mean all of this stuff is very dangerous stuff. When you talk about no criminality, I think it’s very dangerous for you to say that."

So the bottom line from Trump is that he needs Raffensberger to hand him, just give him fraudulent 12,000 votes so he can win Georgia. And then he threatens him. That's extortion. That breaks a lot of laws.

Raffensberger is a hero. And Trump lost the battle with him.
