@mas1581

About a year ago, I woke in the middle of the night to the song Sound of Silence.  It was hauntingly beautiful and I felt it was a message.  Like you, I was drawn to the beautiful version by Disturbed and today I've listened to it again.  Today, like Deetoo, chills flooded by body while listening and I knew in my deepest self that there is more meaning in the lyrics than I had realized.  The Disturbed version is such a powerful interpretation and there is a message for all of us in this moment.

In hearing the song and reading the lyrics today, nearly a year later, different phrases stand out to me:

"Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains"

All of us on this site are people who either have visions or intuitive abilities.  All of us envision a better tomorrow and an end to the madness we are enduring.  We share our visions and dreams freely in this community of like minded thinkers.

"And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence"

Think about how we share those visions and dreams here:  We are talking without speaking by writing on this site.  We are hearing without listening by reading each others' posts.  The posts of light workers encourage one another and all the people who read here.  We are writing songs that voices never share.

"Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells, of silence"

Just half an hour ago, I was in meditation and reminded that there are other forces at work, that we are not alone and that we need to listen to our dreams and visions. They are trying to comfort us.  This is the message from the transcription of my meditation:

"Other forces are at play here, forces that have not yet revealed truth about this administration and their corrupt allies in congress.  These other forces are our higher powers.  Don’t despair or be afraid.  Everything is happening as it must.  It’s not the result that Resisters want in this moment, but our higher powers are at work.   Corrupt people in the Congress and administration will be exposed as never before."

Then we come to the closing lyrics:

"And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence"

In these lyrics, we are looking at the people who worship their neon god, the Orange One.  They are in a cult and oblivious to what is really happening in our country, despite the warnings by all the resistance writers on the Internet and in the newspapers and on TV, and even by the seers/prophets who write on the Internet, the subway walls and tenement halls of the 21st Century.

@bluebelle

I really needed that today - thank you for pointing out how the lyrics fit our community of light workers. I am feeling a bit "blue" today. I have been feeling pretty calm lately, that the exposure of corruption is coming very soon and that T and his bad eggs in the Senate and Congress will not get away with it. But today I have felt a little upset about what I can imagine will be his reaction to his "acquittal" by the dark GOP, and right before the State of the Union.  I'm feeling a bit angry and sad over it all. Trying to remain positive, looking for bits of light here and there and bam! --- here was your post about the song lyrics.

That song has always been so haunting but now I'll forever look at it in an even brighter than even before light. Thanks again!

@bluebelle, beautifully expressed, and so very true!  Thank you.

I was running errands this afternoon and listening to NPR, as Adam Schiff's closing argument came on.  I pulled over, parked my car and listened, mesmerized and flooded with emotion.  I was on the verge of tears, knowing how this will turn out.  Yet so proud and hopeful, knowing that Schiff will forge ahead, undaunted, guided by the light.  As long as we have ethical leaders like Schiff guiding us, and as long as we courageously step up and do our part, the truth will be revealed in the light of day, to restore this country’s sanity and set us free.

In case you haven't heard Schiff's closing argument today, I am attaching it here:

I couldn't find a children's choir, but here is an amazing version of Sound of Silence done by a young girl named Jadyn Rylee, feat Sina.

https://youtu.be/8xysVNigCsU

It's hard to believe this song was released  in 1964.  It sounds like  something that would have come out later, like maybe '68.   My sister used to sing this to me when i was a baby, on her acoustic guitar.  So lucky to have been born into a house full of hippies!

I just finally got to my meditation of the day and got the following:

I saw the people in the senate chamber. The R’s (with the exception of one?) vote to acquit. You would think that they are jubilant, but they have a bad feeling in the pit of their stomachs. They know that they have sealed the fate of their place in history. I see crowds of people demonstrating. They are singing, “We Shall Overcome”. The senators hear or are aware of this which adds to their discomfort. I see T. in the WH. He is in a wheelchair. He is happy but tired and mentally foggy.

@deetoo I just saw after I finished that Romney is planning to vote yes.

Senator Doug Jones of Alabama is voting to convict as well as Mitt Romney ~ I am encouraged that not all of them are full of Kool-Aid. And the Guardian just now announced that "Democratic senator Kyrsten Sinema will reportedly vote to convict Trump on both articles of impeachment, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress." she was seen as a swing vote. She is voting guilty on both counts.

@journeywithme2,

Thanks for the good news.  Doug Jones is the most vulnerable Dem senator up for reelection in 2020.  He won a special election in 2017 against that crackpot Roy Moore.   I wondered how he would vote, and am happy to know that he's following his conscience.  Even if he loses in 2020, at least he can sleep at night.

I never warmed up to Mitt Romney (R), my former governor, but today he is a hero. He stood up to the dark GOP cult and is voting to convict Trump.

I also should add that when he was governor of Massachusetts, he passed in 2006 the prototype health insurance policy that became the model for Obamacare.

@deetoo

I just posted on my Senators Facebook page : He is forever Impeached and you are forever complicit. May you never look in a mirror that you don't see your betrayal of the American people reflected back at you and may your sleep be ever disrupted with the shame of your actions.

@jeanne-mayell, I thought the attached was an interesting piece on Romney's reasoning to convict T.

I will never understand, though, why he allowed himself to be played by the Orange One when T invited Romney to meet with him about the Sec of State position.

I am choosing at this time to focus on the heroes, not the weaklings. It gives me strength.

And you, dear Community, are heroes.

Romney was wonderful.  A point of light.

Interesting to note that both Republican Presidential candidates who ran against Obama (Romney and McCain). acted honorably and bravely.  They had their finest hour standing up for what was right and just. They (arguably) had their finest hour in the time of Trump.

Thank you Sen. Romney.

It will not be easy going for him in the near future.  He is a profile in courage.

*Adding that "arguably" mostly for McCain because his time as a prisoner of war was truly remarkable and heroic by all accounts.

I plan on sending lots of light to Romney, Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Doug Jones, Kirsten Synema. Trump said he would go after anyone who went against him. Ask for protection... ?

(I heard that Schiff's family and he have received death threats. ? )

@journeywithme2, I love what you wrote to your senator.

@jeanne-mayell, I really like your idea of focusing on the heroes.   What's that saying ...?

What you focus on, expands.

In addition to Democrats Sinema and Jones, we should also add Joe Manchin and Jon Tester to your list of heroes.  They are two Ds from Red states that strongly supported T, who voted to convict.
